You can only visit a small (school-) museum. The sites are closed due to reconstruction of the access till january. The construction work on the Carretera 7 makes it difficult to find the junction, about 1 km down the road to the town of Cerro Castillo
We had to wait on the main road two times for approximately 15 min on the way south so far.

Very interesting tour, english is well spoken. Don't need to make a reservation, just show up and maybe you have to wait a bit in case the guide is already doing a tour. Don Elias is a smaller and traditional coffeefarm. The one next door, El Ocaso, is bigger and modern.

Very lovely campsite. The owners do everything to make it comfortable for you. The site is situated on a very beautiful spot above the river with a specteculair sight. We paid 600 Peso for one night (2 persons and one small camper), so rather expensive compares to the price of other campsites.

Very basic "campsite" and pretty run down. Even not sure weather it is officially open. In former times it was propably a nice place with some chalets, a small pool, ....even an area for paintball ! At the moment the whole complex has a new owner and they want to rebuild it in the future.... 2050?!? ... anyway... since there is no real alternative to the expensive lodges and the nearby nationalpark it might be a cheaper place to spend a night here. The "Sun City" complex is only 10 km from here. The prices for the "chalets" we don't know, but they opened one for us to use the toilet and shower (don't expect Hilton standard!!). The price for camping is obviously not fixed, rather a question of bargain. Guess between ZAR 100-200 p2Pn with a vehicle is everthing possible with the guy who hangs around here.
Since the place is not well marked on the main road (only a rather hand written sign) turn into the small road leading to the airport and then the first dirt track left. There is no sign anymore but after 200 m you are there.

Beautiful campsite. The price with the Wildcard is ZAR 290 p2Pn with a vehicle. In this part of the park are only the "not dangerous" animals. Therefore the kudus, warthogs, impalas, ostrichs, etc can run around you... The Big Five are in the other part... but don't expect to see ANY of them. You come to this park because of the beautiful liebe.

Just keep taking the road past the Caretaker beach spot. Several water crossings. Nothing too bad for a slightly lifted truck with good tires.
Eventually you'll pop out onto this beach. On one end is a small waterfall.
Nice simple beach with no one around.

Pontoon is soon to be replaced by a bridge. Weight limit on pontoon is “less than 10 tonnes” but staff were reluctant to let our 8 tonne overlander on. In the fact end I went across the temporary (padlocked) bridge and spoke to the site manager Mr Chen who let us cross free of charge. I didn’t see any locals pay for the pontoon and 30usd seems excessive, try negotiating :)

Road from pontoon to Kasama is excellent tar road but from pontoon to Isoka is terrible dirt road. Fine if dry but avoid if it’s raining. Rutted and eroded clay and mud, very slippery.

Very nice hostel in Chile Chico. I’ve had an accident with my bike, the owners helped me so much with the local officers at the border.

The place is very calm and clean, I stayed in a large room alone - low season, I think. You have all you need, bathrooms with hot showers, toilets, free wifi, all clean and nice. And very quiet at night!

The price was 15000pp, I rightly recommend.

Great view over river. Only one tree and other campsites are in full sun. Ablutions were not cleaned for at least a week before we arrived - lots of dust, spiders and leaves in ablutions, and no cleaning while we were there. Wash basis downflow pipe broken - when opening the tap, the water ran straight through onto our feet.

Ladies, if you have traveled this far I am sure you could use some pampering. This family owned salon is great. May be special pricing but a Keratin hair treatment is $25 for short hair. $50 and up for long. Pedicures are around $5 and she did a great job.,They do gel manicures too! Support local people! They even cooked me lunch ❤️This is someone’s home so contact them on whatsapp prior to going +505 5828 0488 sidenote, don’t let them cut your hair 😂 I didn’t realize how crooked it was til after I posted this initially

We got checked by the police near this place. We had to show our passports and the drivers driver license and they searched our car (probably for drugs). As they didn’t find anything we could proceed.

The site is very easy to find. We came in at night with rain no problems. Pavement leads right to the site.

We stayed on 12/05/18 it was quite only a couple other people.

Yes there is a highway close and a train track. They did not bother us at all. Like the other people have said all the trucks and trains seem to stop at or before 10PM. But be aware if that is an issue for you.

This is pretty basic camping but we enjoy it. You are right beside the Salton Sea with mountains in the background. There are clean toilets and a shower area. The spots are flat and the scenery is good.

rating 3.5 and would stay again.
