On the beautiful calm shores of Lake Tanganyika at the far end of the small village of Kipili, run by the lovely St Benedictine monks, there are clean basic adequate rooms with cold shower, flushing sit down loo, mosquito nets and electricity. Rooms are 15,000tzs single and 30,000tzs double. You can eat with the monks. There is green grass camping for a negotiated less fee with toilets and access to showers.

Totally enjoyed this place! Worth the 12,000 CLP to get in because if someone doesn't protect and respect this magnificent birds, people will do stupid things and they will leave. A big thank you to Parque Penguino Rey.

We spent 3 nights here. Parked right next to the hotel (ants’ nest on other spots). When we checked with the hotel staff they mentioned we might pay to ‘someone’, but nobody came and we couldn’t find anyone. Nobody bothered and we felt very safe. Open wifi seems not to be available anymore though. We couldn’t find the network. 4g works fine. Windy, not too many mosquitoes and strong sea! Loved it here! Be aware it’s a naked beach.

Spot in the desert. Hidden from the street by many cactuses with more or less level ground. We made a firepit for you 😘
Slow 3G connection. Hot like hell during the day. Almost no shade.

A really nice campground in a nice little town. Stayed in our 21ft motorhome, had no problems getting here. Friendly, helpful people, big grassy area, good bathroom (seperate block now), decent wifi. Our dog loved to hang around in their garden and play with their three dogs. We visited the Santa Brigida mine with ‘Cinco Señores’ on the main square (walking distance): 150 pesos per person, 2.5h trip. Worth it!

i think we endend up more towards the entry of the vally. we expected it to be empty, but there are several houses so we asked a woman working on one of the fields if we could put our tent. i'm not 100% sure if she understood what i was saying, but she said yes and we put our tent next to a field under a little tree. spend a quiet night listening to the river and the morning admiering the landscape. quite a few people came by, but didn't say anything to us.
since we are by bicicle amd i never drove a camper i am not completely sure that you can access the vally, because you have to traverse a small river.

Nice little hostel. A clean private room with en-suite bath COP 45000. Cold shower, fan – no AC. Slow WiFi.

Some traffic noise, but that goes for all the hostels on this road.

Very nice staff!

Free camping, no wind-stopper and ground a bit complicated to pitch the tent / parking for vans/ free (descent) WiFi / great point of departure for the Monte Leon (Crazy view+ Crazy wind) and the Rio Volcan/Lacteo.
There is sometimes guards, sometime not, you got the feeling to be alone everywhere, even in this “camping” :-)

The specified location is the access to the area. First we went right at the end of the road to Playa Brazil, but there are a lot of buildings and we encountered some drunk people, so we went to Punta Conejo / Las Palmeras Surf Camp (16.133343, -95.253687) and camped on the sand beyond the hotel. Beautiful, quiet spot, just waves and two cats who wanted to be our friends. Beware of deep sand.

A really beautifully designed hostel with friendly Italians owners. Clean and well taken care of. $5 per person, per night. We managed to fit our big Sprinter in the back parking area. Highly recommended if staying in Las Penitas

In the middle of the busy, cacophonous city of Tepic, Nayarit, Mx, you wouldn't think Los Pinos, a quiet, restive park to spend the night, would even exist. ¡De nuevo, la magia de México! This is a beautiful place to spend the night, exquisitely maintained, full of citrus trees (lima dulce), exotic plants, and giant nopal cactus. Fidel and his wife Charlote are very friendly and accommodating, including troubleshooting and weak WiFi signal. Water pressure a bit weak except when the pump is on. As others have mentioned, you enter a mini-mall and go under an archway. Clearance 13 ft. We had no problem with our truck camper. All sorts of cafes, restaurants, pizza parlors, and convenience stores within easy walking distance. Well worth the minor hassle of driving through Tepic to reach the park. Fidel and his wife can use the business.
