Very nice campsite for N$ 150 pppn. Campsites have a braai area, electricity, water tap, light and some have nice views on the river. At the lodge there is a swimming pool, which is small but refreshing, and has a nice grassy area around it with lounge beds. Food at restaurant is not cheap (330 for dinner/ 110 for breakfast), but lunch is reasonably priced and portions are good. Same goes for the WiFi (prices start at N$380). Service is really good. The pathway to the bar/restaurant/swimming pool area is lit at night. The shared ablutions are clean. Good place to relax after Kaokoveld.

Very difficult and expansive to find car park in weekday. It's one cheapest car park fee just 40 peso per minutes. Hope everyone can find it.

Great place to stay if you have errands to do in San Jose or just need a place to stay in between locations. It's about $10USD each way via Uber into the city.

Right at the lake. Very beautiful views over the lake. You can also swim from here. Some fishermen came really early and later on some Nepali tourist but everyone leaves you alone. They are building a hotel and restaurant higher up which should be open in April 2019. They owner seems really nice so its probably not a problem to camp after opening. But things might be a little different then. The short path down to the lake is very narrow. Higher up (same level as restaurant) is more grassy area for bigger cars and tents.

This shop sells all kind of bearings, SKF and other brands. Grease for bearings and everything you might need with it :-)

Restaurant with great food, cheap prices and yes, they will let you park overnight. Ask for Javier.

Secluded but secure carpark and beach with eight BBQ spots. Fishing off the rocks. Perfect for a sneaky 1 or 2 night stop.

The area that hides you from the RN5 has enough space for 2 motorcycles with tents or one 4x4.

I heard two vehicles pass between 4pm and 7am. Not much traffic!

There's a stream 100m South of here. I was able to filter water and have a wash.

The people who use this app are the overlanders, right... we’re used to border crossings and this border can be busy, but use the knowledge from previous border crossings and you’ll be fine!

Mozambique site: Yes, there are a lot of guys around you at the moment you step out of the car. If you don’t want them to help you, just say it once and ignore them.
Get your passport stamped, fill in the T.I.P. If you don’t use a Carnet (stay strict at this moment, because this is where the guys want to help you. And want money after helping you to fill in the form.) And get a stamp on this little form, they give it to you between the two borders. This is your exit pass.

Go to one of the offices next to the road to get your 3th party insurance. We paid this time in Rand, was much cheaper. The rates are hanging inside the office.

300,000 rial now. A total ripp-off for a 10 minute (probably less) walk through some underground corridors.
By comparison:Persepolis (which takes at least half a day for a quick visit) is 200,000 rials.

Total ripp-off. 300,000 rials for 100 meter of underground corridor.
Persepolis is 1,000 times bigger and 50% cheaper (200,000).

Very nice hostel with safe parking near Swayambunath. Very helpful owner.
You can park behind the gate (see picture) but gate opens to the inside so takes a bit of manoeuvring if your car is big-ish. Gate height: 2m90
Or outside parking in empty lot opposite the hostel. Quiet dead-end alley with tight turn so no big rigs.

Hostel has cozy common areas, big rooftop terrace and a cafe/restaurant.
Double room en-suite for Rs1500. Dorms for around 500. You could probably sleep in your car if you wish.

Really good place to fill up the water tanks. Enough space around to park a big rig. Also locals come to fill up their canisters.
To fill tanks you need a bucket or water pump, because the water just comes out of the tap.

Good local Restaurant. 3000 TSH for a vegetarian meal.

Fuel Station with convenience store. Lots of pumps. Full service pumps.

Parking lot across from the Tourist Information building on route 12. A tiny bit slanted. Good Wi Fi, water and toilet at Information center. When we asked about parking overnight, the young man said it isn’t their property but it was fine with them. If police asked us to move, we’d have to leave. No police came and they had been doing traffic checks right there.

This place is just the Overflow-ParkingPlace (Grass!) of the Biergarten, but it's not often in use and very calm at night. The owners tolerate a few RVs staying there overnight. No traces, please!
Enjoy the Biergarten! (with Toilets), 400m to subway to Munich-Center, Lots of space in the English Garden ...

Great place, quick and easy. This was recommended by local Emilio Lopez (see nearby campsite) who does tours on the salt flats so must be good!

This is the best place we have stayed at in 4 months of being on the road. Comfortable, nice clean amenities and lovely people. Breakfast was fantastic and great help doing tours and transport advice etc!

Campsite and self catering cottages. Grassy campsites under big shady trees wilh power. New, clean ablutions. 350 R. Clean pool near the reception. Perfect for stop over.

Nice spot with good beach views. no fires allowed. visited in low season. The toilets were closed, meant to be open in peak season with taps to fill water. There are taps to fill water bottles at tourist hut (pliers required to open/close taps) in low season. Not too busy, 15min drive to a small town

Camping is 5000 CFA/per night. No room for negotiation (I speak basic French).

Quite, far from the road, cool at night and nice during the day. Just a pull of the road going up to Palo Seco Reserve. We’ve seen only one car going up the narrow paved road. Great to spend a nice night. No facilities, 3 bars Movistar, free

Très chouette endroit sur le bord de la route donc assez bruyant la nuit. Il y’a un restaurant avec des prix très corrects, des toilettes et possibilité de remplir en eau. Petite piscine. Personnel sympa et gardien la nuit. Wifi correct.
Attention: véhicule de 3m60 de hauteur maximum et 25 pieds de long.

Still 15€ for campervan with electric. includes wifi and hot showers. Right on a pebble beach.
