raoulschuler | realy nice place! from outside it doesn't look like much but inside is a realy nice garden where you can relax after exploring the NP. the rooms are clean and have comfortable beds. we were allowed to clean our bikes on the premises and the owner also helped us to repair our pump. breakfast is included but not enough for cyclists. one bread with jam and butter plus hot drink. but the price of 100bob for two in a private room with shared bathroom is reasonable. can really recommend! |

me | Nice park, comparable to Ontario Parks, but less forested. Nice big covered communal BBQ area, dock and beach for swimming, and all the services you need. Wifi was down, but otherwise it’s a good ~$30 option. |

adventurehaks.com | Great spot. Sugar Lake has always been one of our favourite lakes in BC. This rec site is well maintained and is still $12/night. We got our 30ft toy hauler in with no issue. |

we passed the place today without any sign of the checkpoint. But we have to correct the former statements: there is nothing corrupt about this kind of checkpoint. everyone has to carry a fire extinguisher in Colombia in his or her vehicle. if you don't you get a fine. |

vanderful.org | Bev and Ray are the most welcoming hosts you will meet. They treated us like family and we miss them dearly. Stoneybrooke is a magical farm tucked away amongst the fields. It's especially lovely to watch the cow herds come home in the evening. Truly wonderful, our only wish is that we didn't have to leave! |

lena.cavatica | Good campsite, very close to the city center, easy to find and reach. Has a partly equipped kitchen and very clean toilets and showers. Very safe and secure and a couple of fellow overlanders to talk to. Plus they have horses and offer tours. 15.000 person/night. |

4roamer | Spot off a dirt road near Henry Lake. Road was a bit rough, might be tough in a regular car. Muddy in spots with today’s rain but still passable. Heavily treed area with several camp sites with stone fire rings. |

vanpanam.com | Great little spot in Loreto. As mentioned, it is a bit tricky to get to- use the directions mentioned above, not google maps. Showers and bathrooms clean, spots are flat, would recommend |

edward.freedman | Lots of little restaurant type things beneath the trees who I'm sure would let you camp for a small fee. We had a coffee in one and sorely regretted camping at the lake up the road instead. Plenty of options for camping away from the restaurants too. |

yula.ca | This is a beautiful spot. There's room for several RVs, or tent. You wouldn't want to bring a big rig down here. |
Old boat ramp | 45.12507, -66.47178 | |
yula.ca | There used to be a boat ramp here, but it was demolished and there was construction going on. It was very quiet throughout the night, but were awakened at 7:00am when the construction began. We didn’t encounter any mosquitos or black flies. It was a nice spot to watch the sunset and the changing of the tide. It is also a good spot for stargazing late at night as there are no light around. There’s lots of room for any size camper to stay here. |

Tim's Bicycle Tours | I was on a solo bike tour from Ecuador to Ushuaia. On today’s ride, Uripa (8.4km from Chicheros) had many places to stay. I saw no other formal accommodation today. At 17.4 km was a potential wild camp area. Today I wild camped at 26 km. Turnoff was 25.2km & 3956m (S13.55303 W73.63372) onto gravel track on left. I stayed here for 1 night. This site was well documented in 2018 by Jenny and Curtis Shaw (CJ Bike Tours, Day 752). Thanks guys! The site was spectacular, and was one of my favorites of my 10 month bike tour. Access was tricky and the return to the hiway tomorrow took 15 min, about half being steep pushing (16-20%). It was worth it. The site had great views and was well hidden. See downloadable gpx track in my blog, Day 110 (2019-0703). I much enjoyed this campsite. Pros: Secluded and peaceful, with spectacular views. Plenty of mostly flat grass on which to camp. Morning sun warmed my tent from 06h20 on. Cons: hard to find. Best to use map or gps track. 10 min to return to hiway, with about half being steep (16-18%) pushing. No water. Chilly, with heavy frost on my tent and on the grass. Water: there were many streams lower down today but most came from villages and appeared contaminated. Best to fill up at a gasolinera (9.0 and 9.9 km), or at 19.7 km and 21.8 km. I filled one bottle at 21.8 km which was clear and tasted fine. (I first added an Aquatab tablet and waited the required 30 min.) There was no water at the campsite, and none thereafter on the 1st half of tomorrow’s ride except for a laguna with poor access before the high point. Best to bring 3-4 liters for the overnight and for the descent to the first village tomorrow, pus extra 1 liter for washing. For more details see Day 110 of my blog "Cycling from Ecuador to Ushuaia -2019/20". |

davidjoanna711 | Truck stop. All the amenities you could ask for. There is a Denny’s inside. Plus hot food and dessert options from flying j. Bathrooms, of course gas and snacks. Shower and laundry for a price - I didn’t check it out. A decent parking lot. I parked along the back grassy area. I heard a couple trains before I fell asleep. About 6 RV spots available as well. |
