Now 50$ pp camping incl. 3 meals. First didn‘t want to let us in because we didn‘t have a booking, although camping was basically empty. Might want to book first.

we couldn't stay here the manager Said. it is not allowed.

We asked for a winetasting and if we could stay the night with our campingvan on the parkinglot because you can't drive after a winetasting. The manager said without hasitastion that it is not allowed for camper to stay at their House. So a real fail. We didn't drink nor eat anything.

Very quiet and convenient.
There is a small bakery not far. Perfect for breakfast.

We stayed there with our two motorbikes and tent. Beautiful spot! Road from there to Gwata gets worse (deep sand towards the end) for motorbikes. Before that (Kabu Island and so on) is fairly easy even on loaded bikes.

There’s actually 2 stations opposite each other. We paid 120 KES per liter diesel.

First real station since crossing the border with Ethiopia near Illoret. We drove from Jinka - last station in Ethiopia - to here, which is roughly 800km.

This place is open again and under new management now. There’s a big grassy area on which you can camp. Price is 1000kes p.p.p.n. We found it too much and stayed in the city.

For a game-walk in the reserve you apparentlt need to hire a guide/ranger for 1000 kes. We did see a dozen zebras, a wharthog and an antilope while driving towards the reception. So a guide is not really needed ;).

Stayed two nights here in the reverse angle parks. Left our converted van there all day with no issues. Free parking Sunday’s and holidays with no time restrictions, otherwise pay parking 8am-10pm with a 4hr max stay from 8am-5pm. Quite noisy being a park, and a few homeless people living there. Fine for a night or two. Bathrooms were all out of order or locked when we were there, but might have been like that for 4th of July.

This campground is located near the top of Round Mountain in Cocke County. Situated at 3,100 feet, it is one of the highest-elevation campgrounds in Cherokee National Forest. The altitude, dense vegetation of rhododendrons and hardwoods, and a small mountain stream create natural air conditioning during the hot summer months.

Small established campground on the shores of a beautiful lake, great for water sports.This is a small and cosy campground very friendly people, there is a bar at the front also serves great food.

definitely a remote spot, the dirt road is used for loggers and some did drive by while we were there. nice flat spots for a tent however LOTS of bugs. you can make a fire which will make the situation better but a good place to build a tolerance to them.

Actually an hotel where kids are not allowed but they are at the restaurant (but can’t use the swimming pool)

It’s actually the last gas station until you get to the ferry !!!!
Don’t miss it if you need gas, it’s still 68kms from Almirante ferry

Unhelpful lady staff at the front
My letter of introduction didn’t have the address of the embassy on it and she made me go print one again with the address on it. Address is The Consular Ghana Embassy, 15th Street Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia. I hand wrote the address to add to my printed letter but she said I wrote it too small and said it needed to be reprinted.
Took about 24 hours to pick up the passport

We stayed here to nights without any problems. The parking security guy patrols the area during store hours. Cabellas is open from 10 am till 9 pm.

The Target Store next door is open 8 am till 11 pm daily and had restrooms, a Starbucks and a snack bar as well as groceries.

Un gros stationnement et d’autres petits avant d’arriver au principal. Les signes de permis sont seulement dans le gros stationnement donc j’ai dormi dans un petit. Très calme, très beau, avec petites randos pour me réveiller le matin. Bécosses dans le gros stationnement. Au moins une autre voiture a passé la nuit.

After 2 nights spent there, the third one, Rangers came to evacuate the whole area telling us that this is not allowed as it is not more than half a mole away from the road. The fine is $120

Its all paved now. very nice and narrow route to Huaraz

We stayed on the parking close to the main building and we had good wifi in our van. Very noisy though, we slept only few hours. Bathrooms are clean, hot and spacious showers for 800pp.

Indeed when you come from Chivay it’s the first views over the deepest part of the canyon. We spent 5 minuts here in the morning and saw 3 condors. Not a good place to sleep although, as you only can park on a very small dust area along the road.

nice place to see, not really special in my opinion. please do not sleep here as it is not allowed, plenty of other places around that are official camping areas, nice and also free. The reason why it is not allowed is because of the birds in the lake area. respect this.

Incredible spot to stay multiple days. However, this is only true for the single spot with a clear view of the lake. The other spots are small and have no view. The lake is not too cold so good for a swim!

Laundry in complex. Very good priced at 35 Namibian Dollars per kilogram. Next to very good shops to stock up on other goods
