Great place by the water. We were alone. It is part of the Lonesomehurst Campground but before arriving to the main area, turn right on Fs 167J then keep left onto Fs 167 Ja. It’s a short distance from Denny Creek Rd. What keeps everyone out is the closed gate. People think you can’t go in. However, the small sign reads “close gate after entering”. Lots of room. Road in is a rutted two track.

Flagstaff road is off Highway 287. Enter near Hatchet Resort. It’s 17 miles of easy gravel driving with lots of places to wild camp. We stayed two nights at Lily Lake. Beautiful meadow, mountains and lots of wildflowers. Only saw a few vehicles during our stay.

Amazing spot by a lake! Toilet, free firewood, sandy beach - perfect for relaxing. Lots of Finns camping during the summer, though, and locals swimming. Look for Kellinniemi sign by the tar road and then it’s a sandy road leading there, no 4x4 needed.

the campground only allows people in tents and you cannot sleep in your van. It is now very clearly posted that the showers are for campers only. the camp host said it was greatly stressed to her to NOT allow non-campers to use the showers. you can no longer pay just $2 for shower.

Steps from beautiful white sand beach. Enough flat ground for 2-3 Westfalia. Road in is a bit tricky to find.

Camping with a great view of Spitzkoppe. There are several options to camp outside the National Park. From the track along the fence north of Spitzkoppe National Park is the best place to photograph the milky way framing the mountain. No cars, quiet.

Does have a “closed at dusk” sign but it was late and needed a place for the night. Had no issues parking there overnight with our transit van. Beautiful river spot and lots of blackberries.

Wonderful location nestled in the dunes with direct access to the Atlantic Ocean. View on Atlantic Hwy. Partly very private tent or camper spots. Easy going operator and moderately priced (Aug 2021: NOK 200.- for tent / 2 persons / 2 mororbikes) Very clean facilities.

Great campground with beautiful views of Glacier National Park. Current fee is $20 unless you have a Golden or Access pass, which provides a discount.

Great spot for a converted van with an ocean view. It does get quite busy in the evening time with people coming and going but it beats staying at a paid overnight spot.

Great place! you can taste olive oil, have a fantastic dinner under the olive trees (25€ pp) and park to sleep (25€ a car, 15 for our tent with bicycles). there's a toilet and shower at the factory. The owners are fantastic and everything was great. Just go there.

Great place to visit, a very important nuralgic fortification. We also highly recommend the guided visit, which was great!

Epic overlook primitive camping spot. Road in is very rocky coming in from Angel Fire but I did it in a 4runner without putting it in 4wd. Pictures speak for themselves. 2 bars LTE on AT&T. Fresh bear tracks FYI

Potable water and dump station located by the PetroCan station on the north side of Hwy 16. It is supposed to be available for campers who use the Innisfree RV Campground (on the road opposite the PetroCan; south side of Hwy 16), but nobody was there to enforce this rule.

Busy site though it is August! lots of pitches for tents, vans and large campers. Full facilities, friendly staff in the reception and bar/restaurant. Daily 3-course lunch including wine for €12 - good food! Small park next to site, beach next to park.

Nice camping spot for small caravans and motorcycles. Not for big rigs because of the corners and small road. Windy and cold but beautiful

Showers are 10$ per person, they cut us a deal for 15$ for the both of us. Decently clean but not exactly a cheap shower. No Petro pass needed, they'll buzz you in when you go in the restaurant side.
