Stayed here for watching the train. Comes from the desert 3-4pm. The childs from the village are very rude and want flusch (money) or stuff ! Don’t give them anything!
They hit our truck with stones inside of the village.

Be careful the sand is soft. Reduce Tire Pressure

As far as turnouts go, this one was really awesome actually! Plenty of space and good distance from the road. Good cell service with T-Mobile. Footpaths going up the hill for awesome views, and it seemed like access to either an old road or a trail. We only stayed one night, but I'd be down to spend multiple here. Some traffic noise at night, but not enough to keep me up.

There is a gas station with plenty of food. Cycling a few hundred meters behind you'll find a flat area with less lights and less noise from the road

We were searching for silent blocks for our Defender. In less than 24 hours, the mechanic found the correct pieces at a reasonable price. They service many Defenders, and the entire Land Rover Club of Malawi relies on them for car repairs!

Beautiful sunset at the river. Owner was friendly. We went to a little party up hill (because they played loud music at their self-proclaimed bar) where the whole village was together. Boys were very drunk, and seemed to be a bit too impressed by two curious white dudes.

This is one of the only plans places we find in the mountains. The place is large and spacious and is close to a place called Mi Kabrita ... It's worth meeting Cologne Tovar and this place is great for the motorhome to spend the night.

very good spot, flat ground, nobody came to bother, it's very secluded if you have a small vehicle. A few stray dogs, but they were very friendly

pretty mellow area to overnight. stay in the upper lot not the lower one. please don't have campfires, that just doesn't fit the area. there's really not much to do here other than overnight and move on unless you have some sort of watercraft. decent cell signal for Verizon.

I'm not 100% sold on the fact that this is national Forest land. I say this because I just got a flyby by a local. they went out of their way to come check out who I was, didn't say anything. just grilled me really hard. I can't make any determinations on any maps if where this is is actually legit or not. I'm going to stick it out at least tonight and then think about tomorrow. It is really nice here, but I don't need to get rousted by a bunch of angry locals at 2 am.

Nice free place with bathroom and cold shower. The gas station played music until about midnight, then pretty quiet throughout the night. Lots of mosquito and insects due to the weather but manageable.

We were standing here after a concert in the church during the International Baroque Festival. It took quite a while until the last motorcycle found its way home and things finally calmed down. The next night we moved to the lake, where it was considerably quieter (Monday) and swimming was wonderfully refreshing.

Good for one night - definitely some locals walking by and not hidden enough for me but I did stay one night (arrived late and left early). Good for one night in a pinch.

Dormimos 2 noites aqui, próximos aos caminhões. Local tranquilo, seguro e plano ! Não tem nenhuma facilidade. Também conseguimos descartar nosso porta Potti no banheiro da informação turísticas!

We slept 2 nights here, next to the trucks. Quiet, safe and flat place! There's no facility. We were also able to dispose of our Potti door in the tourist information bathroom!

A torneira fica ao lado do posto copec, pertence ao posto. Para usá-la precisa pedir autorização do gerente antes! Como havíamos abastecido o carro antes, ele nos deixou encher as nossas caixas d’água.
:

The tap is next to the copec station, it belongs to the gas station. To use it you need to ask the manager's authorization first! As we had filled up the car before, he let us fill our water tanks.

We did not sleep here because we didn't feel good here. We tried several places along the sea. A lot of dead animals (a pelican, fishes, something furry) along the riverside as well as trash & shards. Also some stray dogs and the village, fishermen etc. are nearby and in sight.

Smiley offers really nice Boatstours on the Gambia river starting from the Kairoh Garden Guesthouse.

We decided to go on a tour with him to see the Chimpanzees on the Nature Reserve Island. We started at 8:30 am so the temperatures were still really okey, the chimpanzees are fed at ~4 pm so some people prefer to go on a tour in the afternoon.

Smiley is really friendly and his English also very good. He is very knowledgeable and we enjoyed hearing about all the animals. When entering the protected area a ranger joined us on the boat and also explained a little about the reserve. We saw many monkeys & birds, chimpanzees, a crocodile & hippos!

We could securely park our car at the Guesthouse and also started the tour from here. (13.6693460, -14.8911510)

Be sure to communicate the price accurately and check the exchange rate of the day. It’s possible to pay in Euro. At the end of the tour Smiley wanted to take us to a celebration in a village, we said yes, but explained that we didn’t take any extra money, than without explanation we didn’t go to the village…

Boat Tour Cost:
25 euros for 2 people + 5 euros per additional person (up to 8 people possible)

+ 500 Dalasi/pp (± 7 euros) Nationalpark fee

We have enjoyed stating at Chi-Chi Tree camp. A tranquil spot right at the top of the beautiful little town Clarens. The sites are not easy to find, it would be advisable to contact Lothar, the owner at 082-8210750.
The sites are secure and we have felt very safe. Lothar is very friendly and does give good advice what to do in the area. The camp is still under construction but Lothar will make every effort to keep his guests happy. The sites are rig friendly and do have electricity at the sites. The water quality is excellent. Many Chi-Chi trees around. We will return, -
