Perfect for one night after crossing the border in the evening.

As described. Busy road. The night eas surprisingly quiet, no csrs or trucks. Only lady's restroom open. Looks rather dirty and untidy. Hot water in showers. No trash cans or dumpsters. Nobody came to collect money, so we had a night for free.

Really cosy, warm place. Amazing, funny and lovely host. 1.250 for a double room, shared bathroom. And 1.500 for double room with private room. 200 for an extra mattress. Plenty of space for bicycles.

Slept in one of the truck spots to the back as there was enough space and they were more secluded. (also: my first time car camping so wasn't too sure about everything). Ok place to just spend the night and drive on.

By far the best restaurant in Huaraz. In fact it was the best indian cury I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is also really nice. A laid back home restaurant with amazing food and friendly people. We ate here several times and whatever we ordered was delicious.

came in through the rough road, passable. expensive for what it is: good location once you reach it (35 pesos taxi to center) but dog droppings everywhere, slow wifi (too many users sharing probably), showers hot but impractical (no place put your clothes), and our site was with bad rocks protruding (other sites available but they insisted we take that one). they ask you to pay in advance, write down plate number and passport, and sign on the regulation form and check-out time reminder, bad vibes. adult 150mxp, children above 5 years old 75mxp.

We got here after dark. There were already plenty of others there. Make sure not to block driveway (we saw some signs). watch for a few low hanging branches, if your rig is tall. 3 day stay limit, right on the river, some picnic areas, trash cans, older park, good voice on Verizon, but we got no data, can turn muddy in the rain in places, the place is sometimes called Schreiner Park (the old name) or City Park (the current name), outdoor pool in the park (it's Texas and it should be open from Memorial Day to around Labor Day). some historical markers incl an old sawmill are in the park too. The town has a hard ware store, small Lowe's grocery store, a Dollar Tree and a Dollar General as well as a few gas stations plus some restaurants and Mom&Pop stores....

We arrived at a Friday morning and had a short line at immigration. It took some time ...
Before we got our TIP, we had to go to an insurance "shop". We went 80m left/west to a small tinda/kiosk with an old lady - it isn't theSOAP-Shop on tgebridge!!! We told her that our rig is a camibionata and we got SOAT insurance for 2 months for 15 US$.
At duana you don't need copies. They take pictures of all of your documents.
They donot stamp your car/rig into the passport. Just a seperate document 😊.

A very short inspection of the cabine and nobody (!) were interested in our dog; we didn't tell anybody about him, too.

We came in at 7.30 p.m. in the dark. We stopped after 200m in the nowhere of gravel. Nice and quite. In the morningwe were visited by a lot of goats and some donkeys. Peaceful place 😊

Also at least in March there is a HUGE bank of night blooming jasmine by the pool area, which is around the back of the building where you will likely want to park anyway to be out of e way.

Lots of space.
Try also the adjacent Malek Fahad park. There are huge parking lots. but still under construction. first ask the gate keeper if you can camp there. I got an awesome place in the shade of trees

Stopped here today on the NORTHBOUND side, as described. There are no signs indicating the dump station is there; as a previous reviewer described just drive thru as if you’re leaving and you’ll see it. Has non-potable spigot for flushing and clean-up. The fresh water spigot is a press-and-hold style so you will need the water bandit. Apparently CALTRANS doesn’t really want you to refill your tanks! I used the water bandit and it works ok, but got impatient and gave up and will fill elsewhere. Thus 4 stars, otherwise would be 5.

was a bit hard to find the place. we made a picture of the gate. it's a small green white supergas truck in front of the gate.

Price still the same in 2020.
Also, we did not have our passports with us but negotiated a 'tax' to the chief of 1000 cfa to let us in anyway.

Very nice place to spend one night or more !
The sunset on the lake is good.
The grassy place with trees is big enough to welcome dozens of cars so you will find a place without difficulties.
Bathroom and public showers just before the corner to get there.

A lot of mosquitos at night.

beautiful and quiet campground close to the Laguna (don't see the lake from the place). Good for tents and big rigs. Very clean. 10minutes walk to a small but very nice waterfall - don't miss to go. We loved this harmony place.
The good road is ending at San José, than there is a bad steep road they told us.

Just as described. Quiet, cold, and wonderful.
Got here before sunset- then drove up to the Mountain guide campsite just to look around- he said he was full for the weekend- but assured us the area was very safe.
We had a restful evening- wish we would have stayed more nights- as we drove away from the amazing mountain.

We took road 31 off of hwy 285 and road 31A was totally flooded about halfway to this marked spot, but there was a nice little turnout just before the water that worked well for a night. Maybe taking Skyward rd off 285 would get you here, but we didn't try.
