Kate | Fairly straightforward as previously described by others entering Belize. The only thing I would mention is the customs guy who did our vehicle import permit wanted to hear concrete plans, campsites/hotels and a contact number. There didn't seem to be a standard length of time for the permit, the guy made it clear that he was making the decision on how long to give us. It worked out fine, but make sure to be nice and be prepared. |

Kate | The station looks deserted. We drove up and paid 100 mxn, but they didn't fumigate the car. He entered our information in the computer and gave us a slip of paper that we never had to show to anyone. While we were at the fumigation station, no one else stopped there and plenty of cars drove by. We asked the insurance guy about this later and he thought it was strange and assured us that fumigation (or at least the document) was still required. |

The owner is very friendly. |

flowersofsin | I was going to the spot further north but figured it was going to be more of the same and stop here instead, just before the 4x4 area (going north). Only 2 cars drove by on a sunday afternoon. Very quiet. 4x4 not absolutely required, but recommended : There are a few wind blown dunes along the way which you can blow through if you don't stop, but if a random dog jumps in front of your car and you are forced to stop in the middle of one of those, then you would be happy to have 4x4 instead of getting out the shovel! |

evifoulaki | Quiet place below the trees, which provide shade, next to the costanera and just a few steps from the beach. At the beach, you can also find open air showers with warm water. During weekends, locals park here too when they visit the beach.

marjibeth | Excellent view, obviously. Very quiet night spent next to the cascade. Though we were here in dry season, the bed of the waterfall is still very interesting to see, but the view over the lake is the real winner with this spot. There are three potential areas to park, one when you first enter, up near the road, which is most suitable for taller vehicles due to a low branch on lower levels, upper view is great and has a breeze. Next level down is a bit of an incline but we had no trouble and passed the branch with more room above us (we are 2.5m). right next to cascade, if in rainy season you'll fall asleep to waterfall sounds. Third level we did not try to go to as it was a bit Rocky, but also probably fine. It has another lookout point and some small stone tables.

world.nopebone.com | Wow... this is the most beautiful beach spot we have stayed in 1,5 years traveling in south america. We just couldn’t leave this place and stayed 9 nights. The bathroom is very basic but ok. There are watertaps (unfortunately not very clean water) and electricity to plug in. The people are very friendly and helpful. With wooden panels, they helped us to park on a shady spot in the sand with our 2wd van. |

timdobbert | Super nice beach to spend the day at if you are in this town. Just south of the McDonald’s. Lots of people playing beach volleyball and they even invited us to play with them! Also a pier like cement structure to walk down and a doc you can swim to. Packed with locals all day and into the night! |

hellosway.co | We parked here for 3 nights while hiking the Santa Cruz trek in reverse (started at the trailhead right beside the property). Super friendly little lady runs the house which also has a restaurant. She made us tea while we organized our backpacks. Felt very secure and safe! As previously mentioned it’s 10 sols per day to park there. Clean toilet and sink available, as well as outlets for charging. For those curious about the trek, we really enjoyed hiking west to east. Each day was about 9 miles, plenty of campsites interspersed along the very clearly marked trail. So beautiful! We paid a total of 50 sols to get back to our car from close to the end of the trail in Huaripampa (we were lucky there was a collectivo there waiting!) From Caraz we paid for a short ride in a Tuktuk and then hailed another collectivo to take us back up the hill to our car. |

tim_stiles | It was $20 pesos per hour, so a little steep for what you are getting but I guess that’s the going rate in SMA. Very quiet after 10PM but the public washrooms locked at around 11PM and didn’t open until 7AM. |

fremdelaenderimdefender.de | This spot is amazing to see the baloons in the morning! They take of short before sunrise and fly over you. A must go if you are in Cappadocia. It's even to stand and the nights are quite + you have an amazing view. But you may have company in the morning. The 4x4 Tours take a short brake here for Pictures and stay arround 15min with 4 cars. So it might be a little loud. But every perfect spot has a weak point and for that amazing view it was no problem to us. |
