louisthevan | Really nice spot, close to the train so if that bothers you maybe try farther down. Right in between Austin st. And Magnolia, so it’s a quick walk to everything! Park in between the signs. |

Make Like An Apeman | Was here at the beginning of March and it wasn't very crowded - lots of room between spots. Some ATVers during the day and depending where you camp there is so highway noise - other than that it was pretty quiet. Very scenic - 4WD roads back into the hills make good hiking. Decent cell service and data. |

Winnebegas | The green gate was closed but not locked! Just open it, drive thru, and close behind you. This is a great spot during summer but it was snow packed in winter (see pics) - not safe for RVs/trailers during snow season. |

bradyanddanica | Asked us to stop and made small talk about being from Texas. We were going in the direction of Chile. They let us pass without checking any documents. Very easy. |

livingoutsidethezoo | There is another Pemex noted down the road, but I thought it was important to add this one. This is known to be a very windy area and we had to spend 9 hours on the side of the road due to 90 mph winds, thinking the next safe place/ Pemex was over 10 minutes away- yes, even too scary to drive that far. This one is located right off the highway with a very large lot to park, overnight, if needed. Store is very small, but has the essentials...water, beer, ice cream. We have spent one night here and it’s likely we will spend another due to the winds. Free. |

bradyanddanica | The checkpoint is still here but nobody stopped us. It's Sunday and the area seems very relaxed. Little traffic and no issues. |

onespaceman | We just tried to find this place. Even had the police leading us around. Once we finally found it, the gate was locked and there was no access so I'd say it's closed. We sure wish someone would post any other dump stations in the Cabo area. We are in bad need! I also wish people would post the GPS coordinates to the turn off to places, as well as the place itself so GPS can lead us to the right spot. |

ChangTheVan | Around 9pm police surrounded our van with machine guns and carefully asked us to exit our vehicle. They wanted to see all papers and asked us why we were here, when we arrived to Argentina and what's our plan - serious but yet friendly. They said it is OK to stay the night and confirmed that it was a rather safe neighborhood. It simply was odd for some locals (or hotel staff) for us to park there, hence they asked the police to confirm our identity. Nice spot if you want something else then a fuel station. Quite a few people walking and driving by on a Saturday night. Keep in mind that someone knocking on your car in the night claiming they are police doesn't mean they are. Always confirm for yourself before opening/unlocking doors! |

on_the_edge_of_sanity | definitely no camping overnight. the ranger at punta norte chased us out well in advance (ensuring we didn't have the excuse that it was dark). he even followed us 25km to ensure we weren't over nighting elsewhere along the road. there is a estancia close to caleta valdes (on the roads between CV and PN) which could accommodate campers (but we didn't check), which could save a lot of dirt driving. beautiful nature but very very poor accessibility (roads, opening hours, camping possibilities). |

Calderescapes | From the BR101 take the E421. When you reach the E422 it's dirt and under construction at this time but we had no delays. This spot is right along side of the town park. It has a small playground and lots of benches. We did find an outlet with 110V that worked. 4G Vivo signal. We had a very quiet night. There is a bathroom at the park office open between 8 and 5. Note: dunes in the park are largish but vegetation covered. Beach very narrow. Also this is no longer a TAMAR turtle nesting site. |

mokolwane | Small, cramped, at the beach. Very well maintained. No garbage, trash cans emptied daily. Very clean restrooms- must bring your own toilet paper and soap. Nice hot showers. Shower stalls don't have the most clever design, but everything works, pressure is good and it's really clean. Compared to Ruben's next door it looks a lot better! $600 per night. Wifi worked ok. San Felipe is nothing special in our opinion. |
