We stayed one night, basic but nice campsite.
Very quiet at night. Interesting information about the save the rhino trust, they definitely do a good job here!
We heard people drove from the coast towards the camp in the Ugab riverbed. They got stuck twice(also black cotton soil). Nobody informed them about the bad road conditions, I think if you do this you definitely have to be with two cars.

Small county park next to a boat launch. Very popular with air boats. Some stay at the campground. Sites are closely packed but many are big-rig accessible. Attendant on site. Water/electric at some sites. Best to park first and walk around to size up the sites and utilities before chosing. If you want solitude this campground isn't for you, though it is scenic.

I would not recommend trying to find this location after sunset - very sketchy so we left and came back out to I-20 to a rest area down the road.

Totally packed during the weekend and people are friendly. Gendarmería came by just to say hey to the foreigners, very kind and welcoming. Very dog friendly. The beach grill is a hot spot. Also public restrooms are open (no showers during pandemic), tip a few pesos.
Dig poop down if you dare public poop :)

Nice sites. Flat paved parking, picnic tables, fire rings. A few other campers. Sweet spot

Stop here to enjoy the shadow of the trees or have some wellness time. Hot sulfur water coming out of the ground through big pipes. You can arrange them to have a shower or you can dive into the basin. Locals come there. Unfortunately the place is not very clean.

A lake in the middle of the desert. From the military patrols we talk to, if you reach this point you're not far away from the Saudi border and better go back.

Not just showers. There's a water spigot by the air, and you can overnight. The trucks are a long way from the car parking so no engine idling all night!

freshly made local food, tasty. Since it is near the beach it is more expensive than the local restaurants in the village, but cheaper than the bech-side, lodge based restaurants.

We were able to get potable water from this stop.

One of the best FREE campsites I've been to. Long gravel road in, but worth it for the perfect campsites. Right on the lake, with beautiful views. Not good for big rigs, though. Bathrooms were gross, and obviously not maintained. Bring TP and Lysol wipes and you'll be fine. At least 15 designated sites with tables and fire rings. Another area with more sites about half a mile before this spot. Also area to park by boat launch.

All good. Easy in and out. Semis can be a bit in the way.

Estacionamento fechado e plano para visitantes e motorhomes pequenos, tipo van. Há apoio de água de poço artesiano e energia elétrica 220V. É possivel usar a estrutura da pousada, com piscina, restaurante e banheiro. O custo é de R$25,00, por equipamento. As praias são lindas e limpas. Há um estacionamento gratuito, em frente a pousada.

Lovely place with camp kitchen, showers and lots of green space. Wi-Fi with no password. Located on the Snowy River with Platypus in the river next to the park.$25 for unpowered. Suitable for all overlanders. Pub and general store in town.

Água e energia não estão mais disponíveis. Os seguranças não parecem ter um protocolo a seguir. O da noite foi extremamente atencioso e gentil, já o da manhã acordou nós e o pessoal da outra Kombi às 6 da manhã com tapas nos carros, falando para tirar os carros para outra área, por mais que estivéssemos em uma área com permissão para estacionar, conforme a placa de trânsito no local.

Paid 250 for camping, cold show and it is located outside so be prepared if someone see you get naked.

Campsite located in large backyard of local residents access to pool and lapa, R150 p/night for camp site and R80 p/person p/ night, close to town and the start of the Heritage Walking trail. Short walk to the history museum where you can get the local guide to take you on an interesting tour of the city via the plaaskombuis were you can enjoy a good meal / breakfast at really reasonable prices.

Dobbins lookout is temporarily closed according to the sign out front.

Gas station just outside of town; people I asked were dubious about backstreet camping or staying up at the Christ statue in town. I asked permission and they were happy to let me stay, pointing me to a spot tucked away in the corner. Comfortable enough that I returned several nights over the couple of weeks I was using Creel as a base. They close at 10pm and chain off the entrance; nice clean toilets close at the same time; dark and quiet after that. Felt totally safe. Beware of the big open ditch in the corner; easy to miss after dark!

There's a pizza place attached to the gas station that's reputed to be good; I didn't go so can't comment!

Propane and fire wood. For propane, call 506-887-2345 to make sure the person in charge of it is there that day. Great friendly people

Quiet place to spend the night. fairly dark

Great place for free camping. There are pit toilets but no water or trash bins. Popular place with rock climbers and several nice hikes in the area. As this is a “campground”, the BLM Park ranger told us they are telling people to only camp in designated campsites. It is not a free-for-all dispersed camping area. Get there early if you want a legitimate site.
