Clean, quiet, and discreet. in back of the Bass pro shop there's another overlander in a van here and it looks like one or two car campers. I'm traveling alone, female, and I feel very safe here.

Nice clean campsite with walls for wind protection, BBQ area at each campsite and some have a table with electric and a light. WIFI available.
You can hear noise from the road but there isn't much traffic during the night.
$6000ARS $7USD for two people in one tent for a night.

So quiet & fairly secluded. Level ground & decent signal. There's plenty of places to park here. I drove past the fire pit to get a little more cover from the road with trees.

Great little spot by a park. we got in at 830pm. park lights were shut off shortly there after and it was quiet throughout the night. some road noise in the morning starting around 6am. there were a few others parked here as well, a schooling and another van. I made dinner before the lights in the park were off and kept it quiet and stealthy the rest of the night. no issues and I felt safe.

Lots of room, level spots. Dirt lot no portaloo. Beautiful views, fairly noisy highway. No issues

Did not stay here as the price is $45 USD per night plus $25 USD if you want electricity. Too expensive and they don’t even have a proper shower. Only outside open shower.

After being on a small ferry for two days this is the place I went to give myself a treat. It's a great accommodation with western standards, a restaurant and a massage. The owners and the staff are extremely friendly and speak English fluently. I'm satisfied with every aspect of the accommodation. After two weeks on Kalimantan and Sulawesi it's great to finally have something in that level. The price for a two bedroom apartment is 650.000 and worth every penny. Breakfast included.

Everything easy at this border. If you are early at this border you probably will have to wait until 9:30am or even 10 until the one, who can put the exit stamp into your passport has arrived.

Great spot to fill up on water. Multiple taps outside with good pressure. Car can't get closer than 5 meters so need long hose or buckets.

Shower in male toilet was stolen so only a hose without shower head.

A fuel stop, coffee shop and the most incredible collection of antiques... everything from old machinery, to signs, juke boxes, trebuchet stones, old doors, pictures, huge clay vessels. Absolutely fantastic place. Definitely worth stopping by and the coffee is good and cheap

Stayed one night, tiny campsites squeezed together. Beautiful thick lawn, electricity and braai facilities. Ablutions clean with hot showers. Paid R350 for two people for the night. Security top notch and safe like you can’t believe. Would definitely stay here again just for the night as a stopover. Still a bit pricy though.

This place is open! Had a great boat tour with Thandeke (Billy’s Son). Very friendly people and had the best meal in Malawi!

Cheery guy, invited us in to warm up and share mate. Then when we asked if we could bring our stove inside to cook he said only in return for the right tip. But he still let us camp out the back. Generator noise and vehicles stopping to use the WiFi so not the most peaceful but you’re really only here for the wind shelter

Good place to spend the night. Drove up the road a bit to get away from the main road. Had mobile service and could hardly hear any road noise.

They can fill gas tank on your rv. they are the only one in the area. i try many other place and there is nothing except bottle filling.

Lovely 10 sites camp pn the bank of Chobe River. Very clean ablutions x 2. Site maintained daily - raked and bins. Site bumber allocatexwhen booking but seems to change with Kofi (sp) intervention . Allocated sits 8. Artived midday, 40 degrees not a tree. Some low trees at the bottom but not great to use as no view. When we got back to camp at 7pm, we were told to go to site 1 by other campers and someone was on 8. No idea. Would be far easier to cjose site on arrival as everyobe has differenr needs, eg mirning/evening shade , sun for solar panels, close to ablutions etc. Neefless to say, its stunning with game drive routes both east and west to occupy you fir a few days. Unbeluevable elephanr, lion, raptors, water birds and very haopy to see sable antelope. Apologies its P356 ppn for SADC

Sweet little kitsch type Cajun/Mexican fusion restaurant & oyster bar. Should be good for at least 24 hours, I'm sure if you patronize the business daily perhaps longer. Better vibe than the Walmart around the corner which is the only one in Lufkin and is crazy busy. Best for vans or truck campers but a small towing setup probably ok. NOT FOR BIG RIGS!!

It’s true that when you turn right before the gate, guides will be waiting for you. There will be more at the gate and even more when you will have your camp up.

All the guides where friendly, not too invasive but… they will not take no for an answer.

When we arrived late I tired to explain them that we only wanted to go without a guide to the waterfall.
A few were here again the next morning.

When I explained again that we wanted to go alone, after some time, they said it was OK but we bedded to register first in the book at the forestry office.
They took us there and the second act started with the man in charge on the precious book.

He strongly advised us to take a guide, then refused to open the book for us to register.

It’s not our first show so we exited the office (without registering of course) and carried on to the falls following maps.me.

Again, their are only trying to make a living and nobody was angry or even unpleasant but be prepared for heavy discussion if you want to go alone !

It’s not only a campsite but also a conference center, they also have a restaurant and chalets.

As we are non resident they wanted 6$ pppn, which currently is around 10500MWK. We asked if we could get a price at 6000MWK, they accepted so quickly that you could probably get a better price !

It’s very open and a lot of people are just walking by but most will offer their services as guides, car cleaners, laundry boy, you name it…

Everybody is friendly and not too invasive.

The campsite itself is a big open flatish grass area, the trees and flowers around are well maintained and we felt good the 2 nights we spent there.
The toilets are close to the camp area, where there is the tap, clean and had paper.
The shower is a bit further away, less maintained it looks like but okay. There was not hot water.

It looks to be the best out of the only few options there are !

Great place as mentioned before, price is still CLP 6.000 per person.

R325 per night for two adults in one vehicle. Credit card accepted. Perfectly pleasant stopover.

On the south road to Kuelap coming from Nogalcucho, we stopped in this little stone quarry. It is the last suitable space for sleeping before the end of the road (the parking lot of the archaeological site is sloping and really tiny). This place is very quiet. I recommend a high clearance vehicle. Claro signal really very weak.

Huge casino parking lot with several other trucks and camper RV’s staying the night. Lots of room for us to navigate our 37ft class A and toad. Very clean, quiet and safe. They clearly have no issue with over-nighters with signs that say max parking 72hrs. Easily will stay here again.
