Nice and peaceful place. The owners were really kind. We slept for 2 nights, used electricity, washed our clothes and fished in the river (only fly fishing allowed on the river). They didn't charge us anything, but we end up paying R$50 as gratuity.

For cyclist, the way between the road to this camp is little bit sandy but easy. I think the main problem is the elephants, they are little bit agressif and when you focus the floor you don’t see elephants and possible to be surprise and attack you, it’s happen to us...

Be carful ! ( many elephants )

We didn’t stay because people who work here was cold and not welcoming.
But nice place in afternoon for see elephants

We slept here too. Nice security guy they gave us water and you can sleep in your tent in security place.

The view at 70 meters on top of the antenna is amazing.

Semi quiet street, no one bothered us. Just pick a good spot to not annoy locals. Toilets on the beach probably 15 minute walk towards the pier.

Perfect place to share a beer, meet nice people and enjoy some live music . It’s a cultural place where you can have a good discussion and meet local people.

We turned up here without a booking (at 4ish) and were happy to get an ‘overflow’ spot (8). We were told that the only different was ‘less shade’ however that was not the case! No braii, tap, table or chairs either (contrary to the other reservable spots) and same price as others. Nice little pool and restaurant and facilities seemed good if you are lucky enough to have a reservation. Great to have longer access to the park for sunrise/sunset.

Pero, the owner, is always very kind and helpfull. A 15 min walk-down, keep Right at the small crossing, and you are in the marina with lots of restaurants.

Stayed 1 night without issue. Very busy (parking full) during the day from about 6am on weekends. Starts to empty-out by late afternoon. Great walking path if you’re not up to climbing the mountains. No toilet or trash cans. Good cell reception.

Excepted for one motorbike that passend the beach, i was totally alone for 24h. You can Look along the Coast for 10-20km in both directions. If you want to go swimming you have to cross some annoying rocks in the flat Water, but Water is clean and really refreshing in that heat.

is a parking and campsite. the floor is pretty fool of small stones and the owners are not friendly at all. they have grill place and good hot showers and toilet. price 150pp is directly in the city.
but the energy in the place is not a good one. I recommend it if you just want to spend the night. but not a nice place for chilling during the day. very sunny not trees.

Here, as an overlander, you get very comfortable common areas to hang out, which is invaluable when the weather “goes south” as it did for a day while we were there. On cooler days, the fire place is lit; it’s cozy in there. The shower is exceptional!
We walked into Maipu several times and took back the bus 820/824. Some wine/olive oil tasting is within walking distance also, or rent a bike from Hans.

Plenty of these beauty roads within Ochoco (though some at higher elevation were snowed in on 5/5/19). Many follow natural water sources and have small pullouts. Be sure to pack in, pack out, and lookout for private property signage.

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Car park was full, but they made room on the front verandah behind the locked gate within the hotel for our motorbikes. Hot showers, good breakfast.

Ruben and his team made a very good job in our van, and we were very welcomed !

They found immediately the problem and we paid a reasonable price ! We spend some days with the team and good moments !

We recommand this mechanic !

We spend there 1 night. We arrived around 9pm and there is a basketball place just next to it. And a lot of people are coming to chill at night or in the morning. It's a nice place to stay during the between midnight and 5am quiet after or before a lot of people to have a date or chill. All and all I would recommend this place

Small area on the side of the road, next to a finca of coffee. Cool spot: fresh, no mosquitoes, and pretty quiet. We stayed 3 nights there, with a minivan and a tent. The owner, Don Domingo, came to meet us and said it was ok to stay there. There is a small river nearby.
Perfect spot of you want to stay outside of Boquete, or have easy access to the rock climbing spot.

I stayed one night. I felt safe inside my vehicle but it wasn't nice. The restaurant owner was unfriendly and I don't think she likes people there. Lots of loose neighborhood dogs.

Awesome spot away from the main roads. Perfect after spending time at Perito Moreno or Puerto Bandera. covered by beautiful trees (look up before placing your rig as some branches look a bit tired + some have obviously broken off). Quiet and the view is insanely beautiful!!! A must in the area! We would come back in a heartbeat.

Somaliland embassy, easy process. One month visa for 11.000 djf, the receipt states 62 usd. You have to pay in djf.

Apply, pick up the next day. The visa is valid for one month and starts the day it is issued, so plan wisely. It’s supposedly easy to extend once in Somaliland, up to max. 3 months.

When driving, you need a permit/letter from the embassy. They asked for our international license but eventually settled with our Dutch license. The embassy says we have to pay for the permit at the border, 50 usd. We didn’t have to pay at the embassy.

Also, according to the embassy the border between Djibouti and Somaliland is closed if you’re driving, you can only enter from ethiopia. We know of one traveller who took the border by local transport, but we’re not sure when you have your own car.
