Free parking, the sign says 'guests only' but they don't check. You walk right into the hotel/casino. It is noisy, 24h/day music and of course parking garage noise. It was also VERY hot (but we don't have airconditioning in our van) so we ended up walking into the hotel to book a room in the middle of the night...

Nice spot by a large rock/hill and under a nice tree. Sheltered from wind especially if you camp between your car and the tree. The turn off from the main dirt road gets hairy though. There’s a big dip at one point right now that only a high clearance vehicle could get by. Area is quite sandy and soft. AT&T gets a tiny bit of LTE service

5000 tenge for 2 people for an en-suite with a cooking hop - a very budget hostel.

Unclean, poor wifi with uncomfortable bed... we would recommend to pay more and stay somewhere better.

We parked a few hundred meters before the carpark (the end of the road) next to a graveyard.
Quiet and with an amazing view.

legit, but leaves at 4, the conflict is about prices, tourism dropped since the new northern road opened, the local price is 10 soles, but that just barely covers the costs, I payed 15. Going this way you have the trail and the sumit all for your self.

We only stopped here to eat and chill before the border, but the people were extremely nice and straight away offered to camp next to their house! No wind when we were there.

Crossed here, uncomplicated while following the steps as described here. But extremely unfriendly people refusing their own money, they didn’t want to take Cordobas but only USD, although the form states a tick box for the currency used. Eventually we made a zero fee trade for USD and paid. The whole action made zero sense.

Stayed here one night after the border, arrived in the dark. Night was quiet, but it wasn’t worth the drive away from the main road.

Brilliant option. A plain hotel room with a shiny new tiled floor. Clean, clean, white sheets! Spotless newly tiled bathroom. Air conditioning that works extremely well - you’ll need it. It’s hot here. They only give you one towel so we used our own. That’s ok. Also no extra covers, just a sheet. Set the aircon accordingly and you’ll have a great sleep. Wifi was also very good.
Our room was at the back overlooking the car. There was a bit of noise over night at the back with other guests arriving late and/or leaving early but that wasn’t really a problem.
50m down the road on the same side as this hotel is a new block of shops with a bar and few new restaurants. We ate at the Italian/Mexican one. Good food - a bit pricey but good.
$55,000COP an excellent option.

Botswana > Namibia.

Easy and fast border crossing.

Foreign registered cars need to pay cross-border charges (CDC). As of 1 May 2019, those charges are:
* 196 N$ for a motorbike or trailer
* 308 N$ for a car < 3.5 T
* 727 N$ for a two axles vehicle > 3.5T

CDC needs to be payed in Namibian dollars (report have said that they also accept Botswanan Pula and South African Rand), but they do not accept USD or other currencies. They do have a card machine but it seldom works. There’s no money changers or ATM.

We didn’t have any of the accepted currencies which resulted in them letting us go on our way, with a hand written note to show at any police checks. We were supposed to (and did) pay our CDC in Rundu which has a border post to Angola where we could do it.

In Namibia you drive with your lights on at all time and the third party traffic insurance is baked into the price of fuel so you do not need to purchase any insurance.

Roadside parking at Yukon Street. Industrial area, so traffic during the day but quite at night. Near to Cinema, a Supermarket and Canada Line (Marine Drive Station), 15 minutes by train to Waterfront. Not a lot of free spaces...

Absolutely great spot!! With a motorbike the northern access point is pretty difficult to do and it took me a long time to get down that path, but the southern access is pretty easy to do! A friend tried the northern path on his way out and it took him several falls and 4 hours to get out! If you are not very experienced you should definitely go the southern way only!

This place is the official parking for motorhomes. It is possible, if there is a big event that you have to park at the municipal theatre. located directly opposite the brewery Schornstein.

The place is for free, with save guards day and night.

Toilets available, electricity, water drinkable also.

Once a year there is a meeting of 600 motorhomes. much place for all.

About 20 minutes walk to the centre.

All the descriptions are pretty accurate. A little run down, but clean and perfectly adequate for a one night stay. Emanuel and Patrick who run the place are professional, thoughtful, and want to meet your needs. 100pppn camping with access to showers in one of the room. They also let us use their kitchen to cook our breakfast. There is security, and it feels like a safe place.

We waited for two hours (they were watching a TV series), they didn't want to give us the visa because we didn't have a letter of invitation. They clearly said that is not mandatory to have it but they want it anyway...At the end the guy who is going to host us in Maputo called them (fortunately our Swaziland sim card was still working) and they gave us the visa, just bullying attitude. And bring a pen, you have to fill a form and they say they don't have pens...
