sarah.belfrage1 | Got directed here as the other insurance (Penta) has closed down. Efficient and friendly place. We paid $10 for one week. it's on the corner of Pedro Leon Gallo and Abaroa. You can also do it online at HDI.cl |

sarah.belfrage1 | Easy crossing. Exit out of Bolivia took a few minutes. Entering Chile is, as comments state, a longer process due to the vehicle check but it wasn't difficult. They do make a pretty thorough check of the car though - made us take everything out of the back, even opened pots and pans, and made us remove the cover from our roof top tent (first time in 15 borders). Oh and they did have a dog present. In terms of food, if it's already cooked you can cross with it. We weren't sure but took the chance and cooked all our veggies, meat, eggs etc. They confirmed if it's cooked it's ok. Didn't take our dairy stuff as it was pasteurised. |

Beep Beep Africa | Place was fine. If you camp there is no entry fee. Some building work is going on next for so might be noisy during the day. Big rig friendly. There is a 10t weight restriction sign but the staff told me since we were camping it was fine to proceed through the park. Road was not an issue, no bridges or anything so you can safely ignore it. |

pagesrougesetnoires.wordress.com | We saw boards at the entrance saying no camping and no tents allowed but we had nowhere else to go and we saw a lot of people sleeping in vehicles. So we found a grassy spot at the north of the area to pitch our tent and being hidden, and we stayed much more than 8 hours... but it wasn’t a very good night because this place is EXTREMELY noisy with all the huge trains passing all night long and the hundreds of trucks and big vehicles trafic on the highway. May be an emergency option if you have nowhere to go but expect a lot of noise (we met other people sleeping in a 4x4 they said they also didn’t sleep well because of all that noise...). There are a lot of trash cans, hot and cold water not potable, dirty washrooms... Avoid this place if you can... |

left_at_the_llama | Enjoyed our stay at this campground - everything you need is here, clean bathrooms (bring your own tp), basic kitchen, flat spots for tents. Five minute walk into town. The family that runs this place is very friendly. We did a horseback tour with Diego that we really enjoyed. The horses are very well maintained and easy to ride. |

halulom | This road wasn't too bad on a bicycle. There was a new road parallel to the road in maps.me, which went up the first hill out of town. it wasn't in maps.me yet. I used it and it had a good surface. it was still a kind of steep to ride up a loaded touring bike for me but the steep part wasn't long. The scenery along the lake was nice. The road on the Peru side was paved. |

kimbles | Very nice, apart from the mosquitoes. Even when camping as far from the river as possible (near the petroglyphs), mosquito pressure was high. I saw three different groups begin setting up camp, only to pack up and leave after a few minutes of suffering the swarm. Other than the bugs and some truck noise from the highway, it was fine, with well maintained sites and vault toilets. 5 stars if the mosquitoes aren't flying in formation. |

rachelpage09 | A posto out of town where you can camp the night. Very friendly staff. When we passed through there were 5 camper Van's from Florianopolis sitting on the forecourt relaxing with their washing hanging out. Electricity available, cold drinking water and bathrooms and around the back sink for clothes washing. we didn't stay the night but we chatted to the guys from Florianopolis and they were happy relaxing in the shade. |
