Have attached a map of the area from Natividade in the south to Palmas in the north and all attractions east in the park and outside.

We came hoping to do a tour as we'd read the entries about washboard and deep sand and while we have 4x4 we do not have high clearance.

The tours in Ponte Alta seem to start at 800R per day (that was for 2 of us) and we were advised you need 2-3 days. Not sure if that includes accommodation and food. So instead we thought we would try the drive. Visited Canion Sussuapara and then Cahoeiro do Lajeado. Both beautiful. Rough washboard the whole 34km we did and deep sand heading out to the waterfall (last km). We made it but really needed much higher clearance so called it a day. Shame.

Good camping , very clean. Friendly. Raccomanded .

Buen lugar para visitar Huaraz. Orlando es buena onda y nos dió buenos datos. Afuera se puede coger un mototaxi o colectivo para llegar a la ciudad.
Para atravesar al parqueo se debe cruzar un puente de madera. Nuestra camper (de 4,1 ton) no tuvo problemas, sin embargo, un vehículo mas grande podría averiar el puente.

There are a lot of people, but enough space for everyone. We stayed here for two days an no one bothered us. Go down the gravel road and turn left, nobody goes there)
With motorbikes it is a bit difficult to come out again, because of deep sand.

What a view! It’s a fantastic beach to camp under the palmtrees and it felt like paradise!

Prices still 400 ksh pp, still run down facilities (restaurant has good toilets though). We actually liked the food in the restaurant! Wifi worked well from time to time, beach is beautiful and we weren’t bothered by the beach boys and girls; they didn’t stick around if you decline whatever they’re offering.

We charged our car battery without having to pay for it (with our own equipment to connect to 220v).

We stopped the night here and it was fine. Bizarrely the attendants suggested we go to the other posto about 200m north as it had better facilities. it was however much busier. So this place was quiet. Men's bathrooms clean, women's filthy and no working shower. The hotel was closed, as was the restaurant and we didn't find any cold drinking water.

We did stop at the next posto the following day and they do have everything. There is also another posto about 3 miles out of town (heading north) which might be worth checking out. It is out of town with better views than any of these!

Nice mexican food. Big buritos for $5.5 with salad, Quesadillas for $4.5, tacos and much more. Fast and clean place.

We had a very nice evening and fresh cold night here in this beautiful little town. We parked right in front of the building of Municipal on the main square. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. There were several guards around we felt very safe. The market is lovely.

Beautiful site full but still quiet, you need to be early if you want a premium site.

To sum it up: GREAT VIEW, FACILITIES NOT. Very, very cold shower; toilet without seat; none of which clean. We stayed here for one night and enjoyed the view. One star for having facilities, two for the view. Also, wasn’t easy to find a level spot at the camp ground.

We arrived in the afternoon, started our 5h hike from here (Start by crossing the bridge, not like most with the palm tree forest!) We left in the afternoon, to be closer to Cali already. Found a nice spot (La Sirena), which we recommend. It’s only a 45 mins drive and you are already close to the Main Street.

Several places for camp between mango groves and eucalyptus forest. Some locals during holidays but quiet. We make a fire- camp , it’s nice!

Only good for sleep over, fasilities is acceptable, lots of kids during the day.

ATM Which charges 277 pesos to get 2000 out with Visa.

Classy joint with a great lunch special! Menu del Día was 25 b for salad buffet, soup, lemonade, main plate, and tiramisu! We couldn’t even eat it all and got the dessert to go. Excellent service and good bang for your buck. WiFi unfortunately isn’t available even though they have a sign for it

Cold basin. Very nice place to relax. No tourists. Women an men can go separate in the basin only. Time frame is flexible.

This is a very nice and new guest house.
The house and the rooms are very clean.
The owners are very friendly and the dinner and the breakfast was good for 15USD.
They have a nice garden with a good view to the begin of the Hindukusch.
Private parking zone in front of the house is included.

absolutely beautiful spot

we got in here with a 38ft fifth wheel and only just fit, it was very tight. With a certain amount of people we couldnt have turned but we were lucky.
for big rigs i suggest parking at the top and having a walk down first or you could end up in a situation. Reversing back up the track wouldnt be easy if possible at all due to the narrow trees.

totally worth the effort though!

Five cottages with two or up to four beds for self-catering accomodation.
The cottages and the parking lots are surrounded by a two meter high massive wall. We felt so save that we left our luggage on the roof rack for the night. We paid 800 NAD for the four-bed cottage and 700 NAD for the two-bed cottage per night.

we stayed 2 nights, for us the best choice because it is more private camping than in epupa falls lodge,
they have on left hand side 5 more basic campsites (flushing toilets and hot open air shower) and right hand site campsites where everybody has private ablution blocs. We preferred the basic campsites because of the more beautiful lakeview and overland groups do not stay there.
Bar is really nice with beautiful view.

This is a lovely holiday home down by the lake although they are still building they have done the best lovely hot showers and lovely staff well done

Lovely food and a very nice family perfect big lodges it is recommended to wake up early to go to the hot springs

We did it with a 4x4 but also with a Toyota Yaris (2wd). Not recommended especially if you don't want to damage the vehicle from underneath (in the case of unadapted vehicles as the Yaris) but clearly doable. A bit of patience needed though.

Clean facilities and friendly stuff. Fast answer per mail. The restaurant offers good food.

You can continue alongside the river and find some more flat spots, away from the big trucks that are using the track till well after sunset.
