Good food and waiter service. But, the owner arrived and complained that we were using electricity to charge our computer. He was rude! We felt bad and left.

Stayed a night, easy walking distance to town. Shady with tall trees.
Bathroom building very old. No functioning toilet in the ladies section, very dirty and flooded with water in many areas. Did not attempt to use the shower.
This place could be nice but has not been maintained in years.
Paid 180 for 2 in a truck camper.

Amazingly comfortable place. Alessandra will gladly show you around her farm and help you on anything she can. She is keeping a wonderful sustainable farm. If you give her notice she likes to have volunteers for a while, and she has very comfortable accommodation. Wonderful person.

Especially in winter this place is amazing. The springs are ~40 degrees and there are some pools where you can park just a few meters away. We hopped in three times a day. The scenery is also nice, a lot to explore. Perfect to take some days off from driving!

Older State Park, in a pine tree forest. Full hookup sites. Restrooms and showers old, but ok clean and usable. Hot water, at least at the sinks. Cell phone reception. Don't know about fees, office deserted and signs don't say. Didn't see self pay station. So, nothing fancy, but very much ok for a night or two.

Officers told us that now border is open until midnight. On Argentinian side amazing refuge - gas stove, hot shower and toilets, all for free! On both borders no problem with Chilean plated car. Prohibited items as on every border but no one even checked our car. Super easy.

Great mechanic for 4x4 overlanding vehicles or any challenging project. Former specialist mechanic for rally cars in Paraguay and beyond. Now only takes unique collectors projects as well as 4x4's and overlanders. Great advice and easy access to spare parts. Knows Toyota very well, including the general weak spots for several car models. Reliable, not too expensive, even speaks some English. This workshop was recommended by the locals from Asunción. Don't expect your car to be finished in one day though.

Still 15BZ p/p, wifi, kitchen, bathrooms with showers (the one on the left has hot water), palapa with hammocks. Nice place. Right in the town, so can be a little loud. There was a festival last night and the LOUDEST music played until 4am. The couple, Nellie and Francisco are incredibly kind and helpful.

We stayed at Pontoon 3 ( had no advanced booking). 20 USD pp. Basic campsite. In bush, no view. There is a hide, so maybe you can spot wildlife. We were not lucky. Private shower and toilet. It was raining a lot and road from campsite to fibwe public hide was really bad. We did it with our 4x4 Toyota hilux motorhome, but wouldn’t do it again in this wet circumstances. Especially because it gets dark if you stay untill 18.15 at the hide. We left earlier.

You have to walk through water in rainy season. We did it bare foot, but we saw one snake. Probably better if you have boots. We liked the impressie view if the millions of bats.

Beautiful place with lake shore, with an excellent view. Typical farm house, very cozy. Its owners Marta and Dennis are very friendly, with good advice on what to do on the area. Near Guatape and El Peñol. $ 40,000 Cop per night. I recommend The Lake Hotel Camping and B&B!

We took a cargo barge. Lins helped us arrange it.

Sorry this is long. We paid 3,000R for two people, two dogs and a large truck camper. We should have shopped the pricing and departure date more for a better deal.
It is likely that they won’t leave when they say they will. Be patient, plan to sit around the heat and don’t make any future appointments. Confirm things like food, water and facilities. Then stock up on everything you may need for at least 5 days worth. There are no supply stops along the way.
Be prepared for all weather conditions including heat, humidity, direct sun, high winds, driving rain and long dull hours of nothing. A hammock is handy, folding chairs, awning, fans, sunscreen, insect repellant.
The crew was fun, the bugs weren’t so bad, the scenery is amazing, sunset birdwatching was great and it is a very special journey. Even crashing into the bank in a storm and losing an engine was funny in hindsight.
Arriving in Manaus we paid 150R to drive out of the port. Then it all seemed like a long, sweaty dream! (You can see photos on our corresponding blog post)

We are checking back in to add some info. Sorry this is long. We ended up booking through Hulk and his daughter over at the other port office area. Here’s their website. hmnavegacao.com

spectacular overnight spot. Coming from Cueva de las Manos, take the first track right (after about 10 km) - it is the shortest route back to RN 40. Careful: This (good) track does not show on some road maps. Right before the bridge across the Rio, turn right, pass a fence and follow the track into the canyon until it widens and the track turns left uphill again

Basic Hospedaje in Conduriri. When coming from Lake Titicaca its at the entrance of the village on the right side (blue building). Run by very friendly couple. All rooms werde occupied, they let us sleep in the garage, where they even set up a bed for us and gave us a thermos Full of hot water to prepare some tea. Shared bathroom with super hot electric shower. Lots of space to store our bicycles. They asked 15 S/ for the two of us. We happily gave some more.

A nice restaurant with pool. After we ate a delicious fried fish with rice, yuka and salad, they let us pinch our tent when the restaurant closed at 6pm. Beautiful area full of cocoa, mango, coconut and palm trees.

R100 pppn for camping in their car park.
Right above the beach, lots of clean showers, good bar/ restaurant.
They have 2 car parks, we couldn’t fit (2.4m) under the barrier to park with the partial sea view on the grass, But they have another car park with no height barrier. It was flat ish, and we enjoyed are stay here because of the lovely atmosphere and being so close to the beach.
Despite being right outside the communal kitchen, it was quiet at night and we couldn’t hear the music from the bar.
Also rent out surfboards R50 per hour.
