Crazy ATM fee of 174 pesos. Do not use. There is another one in town that charges a 31 pesos fee.

Good food but expensive. Chips, salsa, and guacamole are 190 pesos. We did not like the margaritas.

Safe and nice place directly at the lake. We used the toiletts of the restaurant and the shower of the staff, both new and very clean.
Had a nice dinner at the restaurant.
The manager was very welcoming and helpful, we got many good recommandations from him.

Big parking lot in some distance to the park. When we was here (Ramadan) completely empty. Some noise from the mainroad but acceptable. Not many possibilities in this area. Toilets at the road enter the park about 100m away. Good for a overnight on the way south.

Located by a major road, but relatively quiet. The AC works great and they have a variety of food available. Quite safe as well as I left my cameras and laptop in the room severally and always found everything intact. Speed of the WiFi is also good.

If you would like to be making tea on your own, ask for a kettle. Sometimes they don’t put it in the rooms. I asked and I was given.

I had bearing issues as it was creating lot of noise.so based on past overlander recommendations, stopped here around 5 pm. Told Louis that I had a replacement bearing of he could replace it. I could help him out. He sure dropped everything at took out tge old bearing. As it turns out the bearing was rear bearing. He took the bearing seal apart and greased it with graphite so I have no issues. Outstanding job. By the time we got done it was 800 pm.He charged me 10,000C. Such a good job and so cheap. Outstanding human being. His wife speaks good English. Highly recommend. He is on Whatsapp. The number listed is correct. He checks his phone messages too.
March 21- O called him in the morning if he could find 4runner bearings for me. He sure did find it and by 3 pm, my bearing was all done. He charged mex15000C, a very cheap sum though. A great guy. highly recommend

We stayed for 3 amazing calm days. We loved the spot. Just some nice shepherds are around the area.

Only person here on a very warm mid March day. The ice is starting to melt, but you can tell there was a good freeze recently. The edge of the water has melted, but there is still thick ice in the middle. A ridiculous number of cranes, and Geese around. The amount of shit on the ground will prove it. Feels kind of like a shit peninsula right now some fresh coyote tracks. Very little trash. Overall, an OK, stopover, but the amount of bugs and shit here would make me probably pick something else next time. I bet fall is nicest. I think there's a lot of shit right now because the snow all melted off so it's a lot of wet shit just kind of laying around and especially in the shallows of the water. Once all of this melts off, I bet it will be less shitty.

Came here and used Turismo Pachamama. Really professional in both providing me with SOAT cover for Peru and also printing of the Empresa De Transportes paperwork. They even filled it in from the computer using my passport details. Very good. Recommend 100%

Read all the descriptions on here so was kind of mentally prepared to be messed around a bit for my Chile to Peru border crossing with a UK registered Motorcycle. Nothing could be further from the truth. Got here about 3pm and was done in 20 minutes. Windows/booths 1 2 3 and 4 in that order. All in the same place, in the middle of the road. Really easy. Don't forget your Espresa De Transportes paperwork, which you can get with your SOAT at the bus terminal in Arica. See my "Check-in" there. Very easy.

with all options forcwoldcamping running out, stayed here for tge night. When I got here it was 10 pm. There were a few overlanders parked for the night. Set up the RTT and called it a night. Nice & tranquil. a couple stopped by and had tge music loud for 10-15 min, likely drunk.
Please keep your stuff all secured inside. In the morning my old slippers were stolen. A storage back that is hanging in the back was searched too. All good. No breaks etc.

Got here at 9 pm, the park was closed. Make sure you enter the park before 7 pm.
The next morning got back to the park. The water faucet and showers are near inside the gate entrance on the left. Initially, I had a hard time finding it.
Snorkeling was no good as water visibility was poor.

You cannot drive tge car inside. You have to park it by gate. You can campout there too.

Wow, wow and wow again!
This place is really magical and not overrun with tourists (yet).
The place to park the camper is a small sloping gravel area, nothing special. The other facilities (toilet, showers, lounge area) are also rather simple. But the important thing here is the Pandora Forest and it is simply stunning! It is not allowed to explore nature without a guide, although that makes sense here! There are different activities (caves, rock maze, forest etc) and each costs +/- 60k per person. You can do 2-3 such activities per day. Not cheap but definitely worth it!
All guides are locals who have an opportunity to earn good money here and, without exception, everyone was super nice!
Ah and yes the road is (very) bad! But doable for our 7m sprinter with 2wd, but it takes a lot of time!

It is not a private place. Parking BEFORE a door to a private fenced area. Close to the road, but hidden behind trees and bushes.

Plenty of secure parking for motorcycles and 4x4s. Didn’t have any of the 16/20k cheap rooms left but got a 25k discounted to 21k. Room was large, comfortable, very clean and well presented with TV, AC, towel etc. WiFi tested at 15Mbps but tended to be slow in the evening as it was busy the night I was there. Closest to a European hotel I’ve stayed in since being in West Africa at this price. Restaurant was very good ~5k for veggie dinner, as was the included breakfast (buffet - omelette, beans, spaghetti, plantain, fruit, second helpings allowed!). Has a nice pool too.
