We stopped in the town of Kulu and the local cooperation (15 women, whom produce olive oil, olives, vinegar and bread to sell on the markets) recommended the lake just East of Kulu, if we wanted to see flamingoes. We drove to the lake and there was hundreds of flamingoes and at least 20-30 storks. With a zoom linse you can get amazing pictures. The light was amazing 1-2 hours before sunset. The shores of the lake gets soft so be careful. Very slippery in wet weather, otherwise doable with 2wd. We camped by the lake. The night was quite.

We didn't want to camp in Edirne, so we spotted a small lake just south of town. We parked between the dirt road and the shore, which will depend on the water level. A friendly shepard came by during the evening with sheeps. The next day herds of sheeps and cows went to the lake for water. We stayed two nights, both were quiet. Plenty off space for tents and big rigs. The road can be muddy after rain, and don't drive to close to the lake shore (it is soft).
On the north side just before the metal bridge there is a water source. Look out for a metal pipe sticking out of a concrete block.

We found this place on recomendation after all other offices in the area weren’t open on Satudays.
For the SOAT the guy works together with an office in Impeales. No long queing. He charged us 265000 for 1 month for a Jeep. We could pay in cash, Dollars might be all right. It took us about 1 hour there, because it was a bit complicated with our foreign car. We had to wait an hour until we got the confirmation by SMS with a link. Then we returned to the shop for the printout with a stamp at the back.

The only restaurant in the area. It might look closed but you have to knock on the door. I had a simple lunch for 10 bolivianos.

They is an old fountain in the front yard, and a sign ‘hay pan’, to recognise the place.

I stayed here last night with no issues! Nice campsite. It’s a established and had good cell signal for AT&T.

6/15/24 stopped nice area but very buggy. Camping spots as stated down hill gravel road Saw a calsd A 32' down there. large turn around area too. All trash cans full. we had cell service here.

Beautiful spot on tip of a hill with amazing views. Some shade from trees and a bit of shelter from the wind by rock piles around the site. 1 bar of AT&T only.

Far enough from the HWY 120 to be bothered by road noise. Quite rd anyway.

never found this place. also, if coming from the west on route 66, there is a bridge with a weight limit of 3 tons. hoping to save some 1 hour drive like we did.

awesome place to stay. easy to get to and close to the highway. any size rig can get in here just take it slow as there are some holes. barely hear the hwy noise and a very very very distant humming from the plant. we had an awesome and peaceful night's rest.

Municipal camping next to the Danube. Several spots for camper vans and a small field for tents. Payment at the restaurant next to the camping. (only cash) In June 2024 we paid 17€ for 2 cyclistes/1 tent (tourist tax include). Be aware you need 50€ cash for the deposit for the card to access shower and toilet

Just as others described. First legal spot. Fire ring. It’s super windy today. Dropped the camper and staying here on a Saturday night so I can look for a better spot tomorrow, not pulling a trailer. Quite a bit of traffic during the day. The road is gravel and goes up hill aways but I see cars of all sizes bc people live on this road. Second day I drove down and there’s one more spot, not as nice but safer in gale winds, although I was fine. There is a trailhead I believe you can camp at and two campgrounds but they have to be 10 or more miles from the main road at least. I think camper vans and car camping would be fine

Unluckily we didn‘t find this place. So we had to search a place near the city center on Saturday. See our pin there.

A quiet, modern and youthful place where you can wash and dry your clothes, drink a coffee, read a book and eat a sandwich or work. There is Wifi, WC/Toilet and free parking outside for your car or bicycle.

Free potable water fill with Discover Pass. I did not utilize the actual dump; I’m unsure if there is a fee.

Gravel turnout to west at south end of bridge. A couple informal camp spots. One for RV and one down mear the creek for a tent. fishing for grayling. No amenities. Att cell service.

Dormimos una noche con nuestra casilla sin problemas y seguros.
Preguntamos al playero de la YPF y nos dijo que no había ningún problema, que estacionamos al lado de los camiones.
La playa de estacionamiento está pegada a la autopista, por lo que es bastante ruidoso durante toda la noche.
Los baños están bastante nuevos, pero no eran lo más limpios, y había olor.

Double room for 40 soles (20 p.p) with shared bathroom (private would be 60). Breakfast is 8 soles p.p (didn’t take it). Good WiFi, big bedroom, good bed and they give you towels. Also, nice place to put your bike.

Nice and quiet spot in a little turn around. There is a porta potty here. Its quiet and peaceful. Plenty of shade. The road in was a bit sandy but i had no problems in 2wd.

It doesn’t look like a shop from the outside, but if you knock on the green door they might open it. Well stocked store, no other stores in the area.
