Free wifi, toilets are free and clean(at least in the morning)

Nice little restaurant. Delicious food, owners speak English. Shadow, green surroundings. Easygoing atmosphere.

Quiet petrol station with a large area to park and some parillas and picnic tables. We arrived at night and left in the morning. Asked inside the petrol station whether it would be fine to sleep there for a night and said it was no problem. Also said it was ok to bbq or put up the tent but we just wanted to sleep (in our van) and leave the morning. There’s even a ‘camping’ sign

Checked our passports but wanted to see everything in our car.

Just passed by and visited for an hour or so. Impressive spot and very educational about the Maasai people and the history of the area.

Nothing glamorous - just a Home Depot parking lot. There are no signs against parking and when we called the store we were told, "it's a public parking lot and we cannot stop you but the police do patrol through and may knock"

We tried our luck anyway and had an uneventful night. We stayed in a Van and arrived late, left early.

The place was closed, without any message out side but just a CLOSED SIGN. Could be, that it was due to the weekend parties, but, rather give a heads up! I'll add another campground, just 300 mts before Rustika, coming from cerro castillo, very simple, yet two humble young guys manage it and are super kind. Across Rustika, after the bridge there's a parking lot where I'm sure people can spend the night, river next to it!

People if you free camp please leave clean ! dig your wholes and take it all with you you !!

Impossible to get the visa if you are not living in Benin because they are asking the resident Benin permit! :-(

excellent coffee. still some brew tools and treats. they told us they don’t roast their own and they didn’t have any extra beans to sell but sometimes they do? so don’t plan on it, i’d stock up at “wake up” in punta arenas — they have excellent beans from coffee collective in santiago.

Here you can get furnished rooms from a family. They offer bedroom with bathroom, toilet, double and single bed, dinner, lunch, breakfast. Next to the beachside. Dinner is yummy. Phone Nr. 09175920271

Restaurant at the gas station. While not the cheapest place, it was open and serving sandwiches at 1:30AM, guy serving tables was also the cook and very friendly -he had us two hot sandwiches in less than 5 minutes! Bathrooms had just been cleaned. Seemed they had a full menu during day time hours

Auto part store simular to a auto zone, batteries, additives, tires etc. Several other part stores in same block for hoses, belts etc. Free parking and relatively large lot, easy access. Good alternative to going into downtown for parts

If you stay in this camping the entrance to Los Ojos del Caburgua is free (otherwise is 1500 pp from this side of the river). To reach Los Ojos and the camping there is a bus from Pucon every 20 minutes, or hitchhiking.

We needed a new LT265/70 r17 tire with the correct load capacity. This place was able to find them and at a good price. They do not speak English so you'll need Google Translate!

it is located next to to the main road. just park your vehicle, open the gate and walk towards the new red roof. no one was there.

leave your car at the main road and follow the path 2.556237, -76.038098 towards the river (ullucos). under red roof at 2.554182, -76.037778 is the ancient stone bowl. continue to 2.553473, -76.038056 and you will see the next red roof down a slope. at this coordinates 2.553143, -76.037931 is the ancient stone cocodrilo. no one here.

Ooo if we discovered this gravel pit earlier we would have camped here. Nice view over town and about 100m away from the road if you go in. This place is marked by a big cross

So you don’t waste your time on this mirador, all the lakes are overgrown and there’s only a puddle of water left

Super decent spot. Would advise to cross the little river and then immediately take a right towards the fence. Enough space for a car and tent not to be seen from people coming from the villa. The night was windy and it rained a lot. Soil good enough not to be flooded. A car passes maybe 1/hour on daylight.

Paved parking. Spots groupwise seperated by bush and a few trees, with view hilly agri land. Very quiet. Last 100 m. to reach this spot is packed gravel. Easy access for all rigs. No amenities. 4G. There is a meadow to pinch your tent. Must be wild pigs who made it difficult to find a flat spot for your tent.

have your car washed and fill your water tanks.
Fuel stations do not have water. but any car wash will probably sell or give you water.

Spectacular location on a cliff overlooking the lake and the sunset. We arrived early evening and left next morning and it was perfect. But it wouldn’t work for any longer; there is room for the van and a table and chairs (ours) and no more. It’s at the side of a minor road which is okay evening/night but gets busy in the day.

We had problems to open one of the screws of one shock absorber. They opened it for us for free! We then could change the shock absorber ourselves. Christian speaks very good english and offered us water and a hot shower! Very very helpful guys!

Crookton Wild Camp spot. Nice, flat, quiet side road loop to boondock off route 66. Nice greenery to obscure you from the road. Somebody has even made a fire ring of rock to have a fire. There is room for a few rigs and/or large RV and trailer. No amenities.

didn't like the pastries so much, didn't seem fresh. patisserie on the corner is much better and crunchier

Infrastructure is getting oldish but seems in good shape. We came on Monday and the pools were really dirty so didn’t stay for more than 10min... if you want to come here don’t come just after the weekend!
However the staff was extremely nice and friendly and gave us the refund without any problem!

we were looking for a place with private parking and got to this hostal. it's a bit expensive, 30$ for a private room with private bathroom and hot shower, breakfast included. private parking in closed lot on the property
