The boat ramp area is flooded currently. Their is a crew also working at the end of the road. We parked on the grass at the top and about 50 feet down from the ramp. Good for one night but the single lane road is busy during the day so we left early in the morning

atm 4wd only or maybe 2wd if you dont have a longish van that looses some floor distance due to the long wheel base. however the place would be nice and shady. parking under the trees difficult for anything much higher than 2.50m.
if you cant go all the way up theres a nice shady place on the right 20m before, in front of an unfinished house. no work in progress when we were there so nobody mind

Zaruma is very steep and the streets are not made for huge cars. No problem with our 6 meters long van but we preferred let it here. Maps and maps.me made us go in crazy steep streets that can be hard for big rigs, so you can find a map with the best way to come here in the pictures. The wood houses near the church are really cute by the way.

Really nice camping in front of the lake. The bathroom is really clean and unusual spacious. You can jump from you tent or camper into the lake to go swimming. The right name is camping el fortin and its from the association of truck drivers. We paid 210 per person and and 280 pesos for the motorhome. The only odd thing is when using it as an overnight stop you are supposed to leave by 10 in the morning. Never had this b fore.

Two star hotel with decent size rooms and secure parking for motorcycles.

The breakfast is a bit disappointing but overall very good with 24hr manner reception. Rooms are serviced every day.
Air on and tv in each room assuming you can get the correct remote controls for each at check in.
Two blocks from the high street and all local facilities. Staff are very good.

Quiet dirt road leading from the main one. We followed it for a while and parked at a small grassy area just a couple of meters from the dirt road, but you can select any other spot here. No traffic at all, except (of course) a river of sheep flowing around the car at 6.30 am (followed by one car and one horseman). Otherwise, no one would bother you.

We can only recommend this place. An oasis in the desert, green, lots of birds and with all facilities and a nice swimming pool. The owners Carlos and Monique are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They are just wonderful.

Gorgeous,wind protected and quiet. We arrived Sunday evening when the day visitors were leaving. Trash cans available.

After looking for several hours to get our new shocks put on our truck, we finally looked on iOverlander and found Hector. He was very friendly, very reasonable and allowed us to use his garage to do other repairs while our shocks were put on. Charged 20,000 for replacing the 2 shocks. Says he prefers to work on Gas vehicles rather than Diesel. Very friendly, would go back again.

Free. Super sweet spot next to the stream. This is probably Rucker Creek? It has recently flooded and one of the public campgrounds is closed because of the flood. Follow 74 road up and turn at the sign for Red Rock Canyon. The established campgrounds nearby are fee sites. $15 per night with no services other than pit toilets. But there are many free options along the way. 4WD and high clearance recommended for this location. Bears in the area. Lots of turkey and deer. Plenty of firewood.

A huge roof with a terrass, toilets and taps has been build for rafting. There is a huge parking lot above where we stayed for the night. Very nice place!

The camping is 50 Q per person either for tenting or sleeping in the car. Very nice place to stay while visiting ruins. Toilets are clean, for camping shower is only cold, WiFi works well in the restaurant and it's free for the guests.

Highly recommended - nice and clean guesthouse, rate is 560 for one person in a single room and 860 for two in a double room. We called the number mentioned in one of the comments and asked if we could also camp. They offered us to stay in their yard and we could use the bathroom of one of the rooms. Call them and ask - Jeannette and Danielle (mother and daughter) are very nice and helpful. Landy drivers very welcome - Ryan has a Landrover garage and is the best mechanic ever!

Long established restaurant here, has changed hands somewhat recently and is a little more expensive than it used to be. Great food and cold beer though. Hotel seems nice too.

Beautiful beach, usually calm. 250 pesos per night/vehicle. Pit toilets are gross, no other amenities. 4wd not necessary to get here but the beach sand is very soft.

What a gem! Adela and her family are incredibly kind and sweet. And the food here is very good! Room for 3 vans on level area. There is a height barrier, we are approximately 2.7m high and barely fit. Tons of grass for the dog to run, and right on the beach. It's a nice beach too. They have 4 dogs, but all are very sweet (most are young German Shepherd pups at this time), and barked a little at our small dog but gave no trouble at all. They are very sweet and shy with people. Definitely recommend this spot, tons of hammocks to chill with picnic tables as well. They have bathrooms (bring TP), and one indoor and one outdoor shower. We didn't use the pool, it was a little murky and didn't look like there was much water flow...but, the ocean is nice!

We slept some nights here. Clean toilets. Sunday a lot of people come here to have a Quindío Coffee.

Massive fuel station with Aircon restaurant and fast foods. Wifi is free and I am sure you can park overnight right infront of the station

Roadside camping in Big Bend NP. You have to get a permit at any visitor center of the park, or now some sites can be reserved online. It is 10$/night. You can't book more than 24h in advance.

It is remote wilderness. No sounds, perfectly dark for stargazing. There is a food locker, but no other amenties. Pack in pack out. Easily doable with 2wd.

Great showers! Still 2$ for 6 minutes. Very hot!

Our GPS brought us to a road where it was written "no trespassing". We didn't stay.

We had to weld / repair some parts of our bike rack. We have been advised by others garages from Coyhaique to go here because they can weld aluminium. Very nice family (the Madrids, grandfather, his 2 sons and one of his grandsons !). They repaired within 3 hours despite a great work load. Cheap : we paid 10 000 CH$. No sign out of the garage indicating the place (see photo).

We could refill at local price of 3.72 bol/liter straight into the tank. We bought as well some nuts to the kids assaulting us when we arrived. It maybe helped.

We were allowed to sleep overnight for free in thé parking with seaview with our 24' RV.
even allowed to use their table at night to prépare our own noodles for dinners

Don't underestimate this track! Definitely 4x4 only!!! I had to leave my bike and walk 15km to find someone with a truck to come and get it. Slept the night on the track after it took 5 hours to do 5km. Deep, sticky mud and difficult rocky sections.

Probably one of the nicest campground I've been to in south America. Beautiful location, pool, showers, pool tables, beer and food, playground. I reckon it would be busy on the weekends. 300ars per tent. Access from the north via a good dirt road. Read the warning about coming from the south via RP21!!! Seriously, the route south of here I wouldn't do unless you're in a decent 4x4 and looking for something tricky.
