The all you can eat salad buffet for 3000c is probably the cheapest food you can get in Jaco.
Also available for take-away.

Visa for Equatorial Guinea. Italian passport. Something has changed. Applied on Friday collect it on Monday. Just because the Ambassador wasn't available on Friday (maybe you can get it at the same day). Paid 75'000 cfa. Seems like the official price now. (I heard people paid from 150'000 to 300'000)
2 pictures, hotel reservation in EG, copie of yellow fever certificate and passportid page. Important, you can get the Visa just if you fly in to Malabo. Not for mainland. Otherwise they denied it without giving you a reason like the previously comment.

No falls when we were here, but lovely spot for a picnic overlooking a pool. We spotted a very large crocodile and a hippo so don't even think about swimming!

Dieser Platz ist eigentlich zum Wandern gedacht. Wenn man allerdings bis nach hinten durchfährt hat man einen tollen Übernachtungsplatz, mit Blick über die Berge. Herrlich! Um 19 Uhr waren wir alleine. Der erste kam erst gegen 8 Uhr Morgens.

Several very good camping options at the Snake River east of Huntington with access to the river. Close to I-84, quiet, clean.

We were charged 3usd per day for our 8 m long camper. Looks very safe and very professional. Arrived there at 8:30, paperwork was done very quickly. Went to transbal Panama City to finish the paperwork ( see entry in IO) then aduana (also on IO) to stamp your passport. By 10:30 we were done and we are allowed to leave the country. Ax time to live your vehicle is one year ( and not 6 months like said on face book on the panam group)

I tried to camp here. The gate guard asked me how many nights I wanted to stay, I told him one night, then he said that motorbikes are not allowed. When I asked him why motorbikes weren't allowed, he said "because it's a motorbike." I couldn't argue with that logic, so I went to the River Lodge instead.

A beautiful place directly at the lake. Plenty of space to park your cars. I put up my tent in the sand. The beach is big and has enough space. There are even some tables and benches.

We met the son of the family in town, he is studying tourism and his family owns a farm. He invited his to stay in his fields and said they are planning a camp area. He also plans to ride a motorcycle down the Pan American. It’s a great location, tucked away around the back of the farm in a grassy area up in a hill. The farm recently opened a cafe selling coffee (to drink, maybe beans too), cheese, milk and honey (all farm produced) as well as having young cow feeding times for kids and things like sugar cane crushing.

The bus to and from Juayúa is just 20c and you can catch it outside the farm or head 5 mins up the road to the small town of San Jose de Mojada and catch it from there.

He is happy to have Overlanders stay, he let us use the toilet and shower in the guest building and there is water available too if you need a tank fill (likely clean but not potable). They have electricity you can use but not at the site. You have the choice if where to stay in the fields, we chose the back corner as recommended by him. Some tight-ish corners through the farm but we were in easy enough in a long bed full ton Dodge Ram 3500 + camper. No height clearance issues.

We planned to stay a night and stayed two. Felt very welcome and secure, quiet too. The farm is also guarded at night. Expect an enthusiastic welcome from a pack of dachshunds and you may, like us, spot a quetzal in the trees nearby. A great stop for kids and adults alike. Check out the pictures for a better idea)

We were not charged. I am not sure this will continue forever, who knows. We purchased some cheese and milk etc. Alvaro seems to love travel more than profit :)

Right next to a cell tower for full bars 3G Tigo (10 Mbs)and full bars LTE Claro (41Mbs ... yes, forty one!). Tested by Ookla.

Happy to be adding this first, great friendly hosts. Enjoy!

Directions: Just at the corner into / out of town you will see a bright red shed which is the cafe. The gate into the farm is just beside with two big tractor tires buried into the ground either side of the entrance. (See gate in pics)

Contact: probably best to contact first but they will likely be happy to accommodate you just turning up. Contact Alvaro on:

This is a suitable site for a tent. We stayed here for one night. It is suitable for one night only. We had two bikes and a 3 man tent. Very discreet and bikes were very safe. Great spot :)

Drove up here and camped in our diesel Ford F-250 and pop up camper. Slow but not too bad to get up. Used 4-low mainly because were quite heavy. Slept like shit then started our hike at 2:30am and made summit at sunrise. Trail is easy to follow and established. No special gear required. Dress warm, enjoy the views and try not to puke. Great hike

I don't know why this place has not better reviews. At least for cyclists it is a paradise. Wooden sort of chalet with a gorgeous view, hot shower, kitchen with everything you need, super friendly owner, free washing machine (but no dryer and it really takes forever to dry in these humid mountains), senderos closeby, way cheaper than anything around (8$), I had the place for myself for three days. I do recommend it a 100%.

Stayed here last night. Asked the girl working at the gas station if we could park in the truck lot and she said sure no problem. We ended up parking on the side of the road instead and had no issues. A little loud with all the trucks but overall easy place to stay for the night
