An Ecobank with ATM. I didn't try it myself, but saw other people drawing cash. In other African countries, Ecobank is a reliable bank, so this one should be fine too. If it's not working, you might try Sao Pedro Guesthouse, where you can get cash with a card and perhaps is cheaper, but not sure if they allow non-customers here.

Avoid if you do not have a carnet!!! They are making it impossible for you to get through without one.

They will not issue a TIP for some reason.
The only way that they are letting you through is with a bond or a bribe for 749 cedi. Refused to pay and they would not let us proceed.

We left border as it closed without the temporary Import Permit. Got turned around at customs checkpoint and was escorted back.

Have had to buy a bond for 120,00 CIFA, been here 2 days getting this sorted!!!

Use Niembe as no issues there. Tried explaining about corruption line for Country, none of them give a hoot!!

This is a rotten border where they are all in on the scam!

Parking at beach bar. In the summer this place is probably packed. Off season the bar is closed which leaves plenty of room to park. Good place for swimming and snorkeling. Pets were allowed in autumn, not sure about summer though.

Spent a quiet night here in our truck camper. Pool was filled and clean, also were able to take a hot shower in one of the cabins.
Toilets at the pool/campsite we so so clean.
Overall a good experience. Paid 7500pp.

Black market rates. Ask Ahamed at western Union or speak to the guy selling cigarettes.

Really nice campground for free ! We reserved online and had an answer not even 20 minutes later. Really quiet and beautiful area. Easy to access and just one hour from Tampa. Mosquitos are ready for you !

We cant fill our gas bottle from Uruguay. We had ad first go to a ferrateria but there the didnt had an adapter for this bottle also.
The place hwo had an adapter was „casa zeila“ in the city.
Now we had fill our boettle.

Nice place along the road. Little garden, restaurant. Room double bed was 150 birr.

Get secluded spot. There was one other car here. Not too noisy

We do not recommend this campsite. 300 pp is way too much for no electricity, no WIFI, Banos not clean, half of the toilets not working. In the evening he starts a loud generator until midnight and all the exhaust goes into the ladies bathroom. Absolutely not useable anymore. We talked with the owner and he was stubborn, ignorant and said: you already paid! Unfortunately it is the only place close to the petrified forest where you can find a bit shelter from the wind.

Parked in large lot beside the restaurant in front of the small ship wreck. Free. Very quiet, suitable for any size rig. Free shower if you eat at the restaurant. Food is good, very, very nice people. Do not eat at the pizza place next door. Tiny single person pizza that was raw and had to be tossed out for $7. Great sunsets. We parked here in a 25' Class C.

Stayed here 3 nights without problem. Some cats and dogs bargaining food, but very quiet at night. We saw early one morning a jackal trotting on the road (which is not exceptional according to local). 300 meters from the amazing and beautiful Royal Tombs Museum, but the Palace on the hill was under renovation at this time. No services. Just a cafe/souvenirs shop close to the parking (with WC) owned by 2 nice ladies, but close early out of season (5 PM).

Enjoyed the views after leaving Cabanaconde but road turned to rough washboard. Driveable but need lots of time.

The most corrupt people we met on the route. We had all the paperwork, medical box, triangle, fire extinguisher. Then asked for gloves. Gloves???!?!? Seriously. They tried to fine us. We drove off leaving behind photocopies but one officer came after us saying that we drove off without papers and still was asking for money. We didnt pay a penny.

As described, the site offers little room for large RVs, we did not have a problem with a 24 feet. The prices are 100 Q per night and per person, it is a bit expensive even if the setting is very beautiful. Wifi is not good on the site but acceptable at the bar restaurant. The pool is in full swing ... for a moment again.

Friendly owners. Camping cost $5000 pp (posibly there is discount for more than one person) and you can buy real coffee and local desserts. It has nice grass and platforms with roof (very useful during rain). It's quiet and there are some animals (ducks, turkeys, gooses); during night you can hear a lot of birds. The only downside is that hot water last for about 2 minutes, then you have to close the tap and wait around 20 seconds to recover it (not so bad anyways).

Nice place to wait for ferry or to cover from rain. Attendants are friendly, you can buy real coffee, hot chocolate, empanadas and really nice cakes; there is wifi too. You can ask for information here and check maps and books.

VERY basic hotel but extremely friendly staff. Paid 150EP, but didn’t try to bargain, so there is a chance you could get it lower. Simple two bed room with private bathroom on ground floor. Allowed to bring our bikes into the room. If you don’t mind a bit of dirt and want a cheap room - come here.

The area is big and easy to enter. However we had a scary experience there. Around 10pm when we were already sleeping people came and tried to open our doors shined their flashlights inside our van and were banging on the walls. As soon as we made our presence clear that we were inside the van. They slowly left. However very scary experience. We ended moving to the campground just past the park entrance.

New hostel with German beer, salamis, bread. We didn’t stay here but Carlos the owner invited us to take a look and we had local drinks and delicious bread. It will be a good place to stay. Parking outside on the street. Great place to stop for a bite to eat even if you don’t want to stay overnight.

The owner was not there, so the guy at the camp called him and said it was 1000 pppn. It wasn't possible to negotiate the price (too expensive for us for this place) so we did not stay there.

Loved this place! We had an awesome sunset and sunrise and nobody was there. Some noise from the road but totally okay. Be careful when driving through the sand, it was no problem with our 2WD but because it was dry. No service!

Overlander family stablished in Queretaro. Sergio, the owner, went on his motorbike from here to ushuaia and back, so he knows a thing or two about traveling. His family is very welcoming and warm. Lovely kids and playful dogs. Oxxo store is 200 meterá from this location, food Trucks and restaurants around as well.
