we have not slept there, it's just in front of a residential neighbourhood and felt it wasn't appropriate.

Such an awesome and beautiful spot. We went to city of rocks without a reservation, but I highly recommend reserving a spot online before coming to make sure you do get a camp site. All the spots were already reserved so the staff informed us we could stay in overflow parking. Was $8 per night for overflow. You’re able to see sunrise and sunset, hike trails, and explore the rocks

Nice place, but we didn't stay as its mangroves and it wasn't windy so we were scared of the mosquitoes. Narrow road to get there. Added pic of the place.

Beautiful sunset views. No problems. Road was quiet from 10 to 5. Patchy att and no tmobile. Early sunrise hikes in Mendocino followed by incredible eggs benedict at Good Life Cafe for a costly, but worth it, treat!

As described. I ask the guy if I can take 2 gallons of fresh water coming from the well. He said ok. I didn't ask to fill the tank because he was hesitating already for the 2 gallons. Well, thank you Fred !
On a arrêté là pour remplir le réservoir. On a rencontré le propriétaire qui passait. Comme il hésitait, je lui ai juste demandé 8 litres d'eau pour boire. Il a accepté. De la bonne eau venant d'un puits. Merci Fred !

You can reach this view point by a small trail which is marked on ioverlander. I uploaded a picture from the beginning of the trail.
You don't need to hike up all the way to the antennas to see the whole Laguna:) To get to this point it's 15 minutes uphill.

Easy overnight before/after crossing the Mexican border. Slept farthest from the entrance, near Starbucks, and didn't have any issues. Store closes at 11 PM. Several trash cans in the parking lot. 1-2 bars of 5G on ATT.

Side of a road outside a city park. Playground for kids and lots of picnic tables with barbecue pits right inside the park. The park is on a river and there were lots of people swimming in the river and canoeing. The park was really busy during the day but it closed at 8 and was quiet after that with minimal cars driving by. The park is patrolled by the Marshall so felt safe and we were not bothered. Stayed one night in a 40ft bus. Another van stayed overnight as well. Short walk to downtown.

We stayed here for 2 nights so we could relax and hike the Santa Ana volcan. Great base to do it. Very big grassy area very quiet during the week. We paid 12,50$ for 24h so 25$ for 2 days for RV and family of 5. Children under 12 don’t pay.
Great spot. Cool nights but very good.
We did the hike with a great guide, don’t hesitate to whatsapp him for reservations from Friday to Sunday. Jairo tu pac : 75529113 Guia de Turismo casa de cristal. 2$ pp and 6$ for the national park pp for adult. Very knowledgeable and very very nice. We recommend ! We wanted to leave early though but had to wait until 9am. No big deal, it was a good timing.

Signs say "no overnight rv parking."

I don't live in an RV.
I've lived in Lafayette for twenty-three years, car camping is fine here.

Nice place to stop in the mountains. Rest rooms were closed, but lots of port-a-potties that work when you have to go :-)

Very quiet gravel parking spot at the trailhead. No amenities and a good place to stop if you want to hike a part of the Appalachian Trail. This is about 30 minutes from the north end of Shenandoah National Park.

someone was in this spot, and though there was room for us we decided to drive up about 3-4 minutes and stayed at another fairly level place just off the main road.

Embalse El Carrizal is an artificial lake with many options for camping. Some are more developed than others. This specific spot is an big open field, without any facilities and without wind protection. 200 pesos per person. A lot of trash unfortunately (plastics, broken bottles,…). Many fishermen during the day, a lot of parillas and partying during the night. But as you can easily find a spot far away from all the cars, the noise wasn’t an issue for us.

Poverty Flats is a great place to camp for the night after hiking Valley of Fire. Lots of people, close to the road, but surprisingly quiet. Not a place I'd spend more than one night. But perfect for that one night.

Definitely at least one spot off the side of the road at the GPS coordinate, though we didn't see any others. It isn't super obvious and the fire ring is tucked below the road so keep your eyes out. The lip is surprisingly level when you pull up onto it (small camper van). It's a little weird seeing all of the empty church group camps but much cheaper and more secluded than the nearby campgrounds. You can't beat free!

Previous comments must be for a different guy that probably was here! The experience was not the same for me. I had a flat tire and after a few minutes staring at it, he made a suggestion to maybe take it out and see what happened!? I looked up google maps for another shop and found a lot of reviews there that say the same about this place. Ended up charging me $1600! which is double the price of most shops and air is $400! he has a big sign outside. Avoid him if you can! there should be another place on the next road.

Same as description of mattbranz. The site close for the winter and open at mid April. I stay at the entrance for the night and didn’t saw « no overnight » pancarte on the site. It’s not the best but the cows on one side and hill/ mountains around the site good for the view.
