Unfortunately there are all new signs everywhere along this stretch that say No Parking 10pm - 6am, including at this pull out.

It's a really nice restaurant with big portions and reasonable prices. they have local dishes, but also pasta, pizza, ramen, etc.

Handsome staff, child friendly, hip atmosphere.

Exactly described by muddybumper. They are super well organized and guide you all the way. Unlike most ports we’ve been through they don’t worry about hard hats, steel toe boots and hiviz vests. They also let my wife join me in taking the vehicle to the ferry ( a first ! ). We paid 536,000 won for a big Sprinter van which included the driver, 90,000 for the passenger and then 100,000 for the 2 berth cabin ( with shower and toilet !).

Beautiful spot but someone crawled through the bushes to our car. We were sitting next to the car and saw some movement. I went to take a look (hoped to see a cool animal) and this guy was creeping at us (on his belly, looking at us, inside the bushes). He said he was fishing (but he was not near any water). Don’t know what would’ve happened if we stayed. We left.

We camped halfway the path and it was good for a night.
Half april the grass was over 2 meters high so we didn’t drive to the endpoint. It was impossible to see the path as we arrived at night.
No people around so we were happy.

Crossing from Swaziland to Mozambique

Swazi side was easy, just a stamp in the passport and the customs knew what to do with the Carnet.

On the Mozambique side you first stop to get a gate pass and with that go to the central building. At immigration we needed a copy of a hotel booking and of our passports. We had to pay 650 Meticals each (200 Rand would also be possible). We got the entry stamp, but we needed to wait for the receipt to be written so in the meantime we did the customs. There we just needed to provide the car data. Afterwards we got the TIP and the receipt for immigration.
On the outside there’s another building where you pay the roadtax, receipt says 3$ but we didn’t have any so had to pay 400 Meticals.

there are signs for only one hour parking, but there are spots that were not posted, and it was obvious that it was the spot of the park for the "night"

The drive from Banyo to Cameroon Immigration took us 2 hours. The road is fine in the dry season. And normal when rainy. It is not as terrible as everybody told. But before our trip 3 days wasn’t rain. You need ground clearance. And good driving experience.

If you get stuck, there's someone to get you out, lots of lorries around here.

From Cameroon's immigration to Nigeria's immigration, the road is difficult. High rise, mud, rocks. Took three hours. We drove when it had not rained for days.

After the Nigerian post to the village the road is already normal.

Very nice campground. All new. Aquatic park until 30 April. Open Wednesday to Sunday. It’s was pricey for us motorhome 20.000 per night supplement for aquatic park if you want to go. But I putted in this app for any travels who wants to come here. Also when is very hot days. See prices in pictures because you can go only on aquatic park. You can pay by visa. We just last night next to lake. I asked the camping and they agreed. No problems

Unfortunately I got myself stuck in my FWD van. Some of the ground is compacted but there is one hill that is soft sand and I got stuck in it. Partly my inexperience with this heavy van. $360 to get pulled out but they had me going again within 1 1/2 hrs! Rest stop 25 miles up the road is a much safer bet for me! Very pretty location though.

Stayed next to the dam on a grassy spot close to a wooden fence. There were cars on the dam until late at night, otherwise local fishermen and quite a few dogs, cows and a horse- but quiet at night. The lake is drying up a bit. Spot is not visible from the street but from the lake site and the dam.

Parked over in the NW corner of the parking lot. Bathrooms open until 9:30, so that was nice. Stayed overnight, didn’t get harassed. Parking attendant was there in the morning, didn’t say anything :). Great location for exploring the town. $15 to park all day. Stayed in a Tacoma with a kimbo cab over.

Double room is Pesos 750.00. It was very quiet when we stayed here. The restaurant is closed but there is a Ley supermarket opposite of the hotel.
Room was clean and WiFi strong (room 7).

Okay place for a night stop over. Rooms are a bit old and run down but clean and big, with kitchen and sitting area. AC, fridge, hot shower, WiFi, comfortable bed. Staff is friendly, safe street parking. Restaurants and small shops in walking distance. We paid 160 r.

honestly a pretty nice and non-intimidating stop/place to crash for the night : nice rock formations + mountainous views !!
(felt “homier” than another stop i was at about 150 miles west on i-10)

i would just like to note though that there’s only parking facing the bathrooms + vending machines and the lights next to them are quite bright
(i put up my sunshield to block them out)
