The Zostel is pretty new, since three months.
Big main building with dorms, private rooms and sitting area.
Nice communal area outside (sheltered) and all day restaurant.
It's very secluded in nature and if your lucky with clear skies you can even see the Kangchenjunga.

They also have two big patches of grass and some sheltered spot for tents. Camper vans will easily fit, as well. Big rigs, too, at the parking side adjacent, the only question is if you make it the way up. But should be possible for normal size trucks. Although all roads are narrow'ish around here.

Staff is really nice and they have the cutest couple of dogs :)

Amazing place to come after the boarder crossing! Super welcoming and really beautiful spot! (Although it’s HOT here so be ready for that)! The price has changed to S/25 PP he said they changed it because their amenities have changed (shower, WiFi, restaurant, and lots of things for kids to play with not to mention power wheels which your kids can use for S/5 for 10 min)! Loved our time here and highly recommend!

We wanted to stay 2 nights. But then we stayed longer than one week. This is a safe, calm and very lovely place with a big grassy area for the overlander. The bathrooms are clean and the showers may be the best showers since a long time. Hot and with enough pressure. The stuff is really helpful and the owners Jorge and Lina are really nice. We can recommend this place. You can take a Taxi from here to the Thermales.

At end of road driving through Grayson Highlands just past Massie Gap is a campground. Sites are very close together with no privacy; $20 for VA residents, $23 for everyone else. CC and cash accepted for envelopes into Iron Ranger. Each site has water (not on yet) and power (20, 30 & 50 amps).

You have to follow the canyon to get to the waterfall. Once you’re in the canyon there are blue and yellow ribbons marking the track. I did it on my Tevas and my bf on his flipflops. Was fine if you walk carefully. At some parts shoes can be nice but not necessary for the confident walker. Broken ladder was no issue. You can just walk around it. Beautiful little hike!

Could only withdraw 2,500 BOL, and fee was $7US. Tryed a few ATMs around here but this was the best offer. Using a international visa card.

Friendly guy that runs the clothing store next to Sullivan's bar. Exchanges very close to blue dollar rate, good deal. We used him several times over a few weeks in BA.

Doable with 2wd/low clearence. But the route is long, has a lot of washboard and needs experience in driving.

We have a Chevrolet N400.

Pool, jacuzzi, sauna, fitness center and shower! About $8Canadian per person. Great for relaxing after the road. We asked if it is possible to sleep just one night in the parking lot in our van. They are not supposed to accept but they tolerated that we stayed the night, perhaps because of the time (it was almost 9 p.m.), and we were still in low season so not many people in Rv around.

Totally recommend if you can find a spot. I got here at peak time, but it’s still april so wasn’t too bad. Beautiful sunset, friendly people. Was a little noisy in the evening but calmed down and was quiet after 11p-12a. Only stayed one night but honestly would have stayed longer if i weren’t on a schedule!

Wonderful aquatic center. Swam in the main pool that had two lap lanes, and did one run in the water slide! Very nice showers. Lockers must be rented, if desired. Got full access for only $1 , as seniors.

Campground was still (winter)closed & all other places were occupied. This has a huge clear, open & relatively flat area with space for many rigs of all sizes. Tucked in behind is a sweet, private site. Room for 2 (good friends) vans or tents nothing bigger.

We went into the dry river with our 2WD. To find it you have to go to las Torres, the dirt road in front of the comedor ruta 150, as soon as you get in the road there is a sign Cerro blanco, drive up until you find the dry river. The view is unbelievable, and very pretty. As I was walking, I found some pumas footprint, and a scene of hunt (probably a guanaco). Excited, I showed my partner. He wasn’t so excited about it!! Plus the lady at Ischigualasto told us the puma attack humans around here. So we decided to leave, and our wheels got stuck in the sand 3 times. We finally decide to spend the night at the entrance of the dry river. Conclusion: absolute worth a stop, be aware of the sand I would recommend 4WD, and if you are willing to have an encounter with a puma : do not hesitate 🤗

There is a water tap on the left hand side of the entry to the pumps, it is on the wall. We asked the attendant and he was very helpful -- said it was potable and was not a problem for us to fill up. He was also curious about our vehicle and trip :) You'd need a hose if you don't have removable tanks.

Spent a night here (Thursday) and it was very quiet and peaceful. There’s a flat area next to the flag poles right in front of the cemetery entrance, and you get a nice view as well.

It is a described already. It was a tedious 12 miles in from 71-S but lovely. Being here makes that drive worth while.

highly recommended. good stop on the pothole road to Copan. large open field where any large vehicle can park. the entrance is narrower due to the overhanging soft branches. You can easily pull this away to drive past it.
very friendly owner and team of the restaurant where we ate a delicious meal and enjoyed beers. we felt very welcome
