JoyDaydream | Beautiful spot! Several free wild camping spots as mentioned, with concrete slabs and electric for pay for those who need/want that. The local sheriff drove through a couple times, so it felt like this place is well-tended to. |

plannedfield21 | There are several flat campsites in a big area with tall pines. The setting is lovely and feels private. There was road noise from Hwy 3 until after dark when it gets much quieter. The only negative is that is is fairly close to Happy Jack’s campground and there are connecting roads through the forest that the SxS people use — so until after dark there was SxS traffic coming close to our site. I thought we might get to see some wildlife, but not with that racket all around. |

diane | Small gravel lot at a 230 acre conservation area on the Missouri River. Parking area is level, gravel, 50 x 90 feet. May be difficult to navigate to via gps, but it’s just beyond the airport north of US-36. Very quiet night, 2 hunters arrived early morning. Legal status of this spot is definitely open for 14 day stays, but not obvious on local signage. Near airport land and Federal Levee property. Search “Arthur Dupree” and nature.mdc.mo.gov for details on open free camping in this lot. |

WiFi available, dogs allowed, very friendly owner! Every campsite has electricity and a BBQ area and a water connection. 15 dollar a day for 2 people, 2 days and a truck |

Tiburón | The sand parking lot is just that. The place has showers and toilets. The snorkeling is definitely good. Many colorful fish big and small. If you don’t have a history of skin diving you will be very pleased. However, the rule about the life vest and no diving for a skin diver is for me akin to wearing a raincoat in the shower. Part of seeing all that a reef has to offer is diving down and looking in holes and under shelves. If you give your eyes enough time to adjust to the lower light level you never know what will be staring back at you. I love such surprises and sadly this is not an option within the park for skin divers. |

certaintom-tom81 | One of many great little campsites out in this wilderness. This one is level with a view of the valley and a great little campfire ring. Look for a little side road, unmarked off to the left when you get near the marker. Once you get off the primary Forest Service Roads the side roads can get a little more sketchy with ruts and rocks but my 23 ft AWD Transit van (EKKO) did fine. if there was any sign of rain I'd be high tailing it, though. I'll bet this soil gets slick and sticky. |
