Very helpful and friendly Kombi mechanic. Seems to be very competent, has many spare parts for air-cooled engines, and owns a Kombi and a VW Beetle himself.

Beautiful place, all as described below.
For heavy And large motorhomes (>12t, 8m lenghth) the road was narrow at times due to trees, hedges and some bends, but easy to drive, also the bridges.

A quiet place between two lakes. A couple of fire pits, space for a car and a tent. We had a nice breeze to keep the bugs away.

I really confirm it’s much better to turn right instead of taking the left road. A few hundred meters, even before the ruins you’ll find as much place as you want to stop on the side of the road and not in a private property. Windy until 9 pm but the wind completely stopped for the night.

Sympathique camping de 14places, sans réservation, 26$la nuit en juin 2024. Sans eau courante(reservoir d’eau a l’entrée) sans électricité. Marche intéressante a partir du camping et site officiel d’escalade aussi accessible.

Keep going past the train tracks, past the shore on the right and turn right into a clearing. No private signs. We slept one night no problems, very quiet , LTE signal ok. Shoreline is beautiul so pls keep it that way and be respectful to adherent neighbors.

This site is on the way to Yosemite National Park. It's a pretty large pull off from the highway, and a couple cars, or 1-2 big rigs could fit in the space. It's really flat, and the ground is dirt. It gets a little loud in the morning with so many cars passing by, but overall, not a bad spot for the night. Nobody bothered us/ we didn't get a knock. Excellent T-Mobile 5G.

nice stay. The first parking lot is easy to find. To get to the second one, go a little over a half mile down the one lane gravel road. A short road branches off to the right and crosses a small stream then goes into the second parking lot. The steam was about 4" deep, no trouble for most cars. I stayed the night in a hammock about 100 yards from my vehicle. Saw no one.

Dump station at this garage. It costs 10$ that you have to put in a slot when the garage is close. Otherwise, you pay directly at the desk.

Really great place, we enjoyed it for 2 nights without any issues. Quiet, lots of available spots, peaceful, barely any garbage, and not too many bugs! A few other people were staying as well but we all had our own more or less secluded space. Thanks to the community!

Public street that is often used by the locals to park and walk to their homes. By the townhouses there is a no parking sign every 3rd wednesday from 8a-10am for street sweeping. Further down by theanilla wall there is no streetsweep sign. Well lit, and quiet. Felt safe for the night.

We found the art work easily enough with this location. There was a small sign saying Pink Elephants showing the track. You will then hike up some rocks and it is on a big boulder to the left at the top, with a beautiful view.

when we returned to our a bikes, a man was waiting there saying it was on his land and we should have checked in with him (there is a house opposite called Pink Elephants).

He asked for money so we gave he $2 for two of us. Later on someone who knew the man said it wasn't his land, so you probably shouldn't need to pay.

But if you want someone to look after y you vehicle or bikes, would it be a safe home to leave it at

On a gravel mountain road with a beautiful few. Drinking water source. The road is a bit narrow. But cars are very rarely here.

We are camping on a football pitch on the Congo River embankment. There is a small beach for sundowners and a lovely river and sunset view. Unfortunately there is trash strewn about and no facilities at all (not for locals either). Music all day and into the night but its very pleasant and we enjoyed the sounds. This spot is in the village. There are eateries around but we cooked our supper. Kids came to say hi but were no hassle. Good spot. Safe and everyone has been very friendly.

There are two spots heading towards the hills that are big enough to park and turn around if you tow a small trailer. It's shady around six pm once you go up the road a short ways. The turn around are less than a mile up from the kiosk. There are early morning bikers and dog walkers.

Checked out the accommodation and camping option at Rio Claro Reserve. To just enter, they now charge 40,000 pesos. If you want to camp out by the entrance(grassy area by gate) like everyone has alluded, they will ask for another 40000 pesos. You will hear a lot of traffic noise n car coming in and out during the day.
The cabana rooms, though beautiful, are 250000 pesos per night for solo person and includes your stay meals too (arrival say lunch, dinner and next day breakfast). I stayed at the wildcamping pin next to this place. 20K, shower n bath and less noisy.
They would not let me campout on the access drive from the gate to the reception area. There were lot of turnouts where I could have parked and used my RTT.

Had no problems first night, moved over to the main parking for the state park Friday morning and went back over to the pull-off late Friday night. Got a knock on the door around 8 Saturday morning, park staff said no camping at this spot. So we moved back over to the main parking lot with plans to leave later that day. Not even a half hour later we got a knock from a different employee, also saying no camping. There were a couple rigs parked in the main lot overnight it seemed, so maybe they felt like they needed to crack down. It’s a beautiful spot, and no “no camping” signs at the pull-off, just at the main lot.

camping spot just outside of rocky Mt np. spots range from 25 to 76 depending on size. we went with a single $25 site. checked the website beforehand and plenty of fcfs spots. beautiful view of the lake, and it was cold but fun to paddleboard on. got to see a lightning storm that evening too. flush toilets, potable water, dumpsters. a pretty good site for the value and not terribly busy on a Thursday.

Camped near this spot, this whole area is amazing for wild camping if you can tuck away from the main Riverbed road. the riverbed road seems to get a fair bit of traffic with both work cars and tourist vehicles, although we were well hidden and noone came by. No MTC connection. climbing area is a short walk away (take your helmets it's a bit chossy).
Pack out your trash and toilet paper (it won't break down in the desert).
