Big campground. Very very crowded and it’s early in the season still. Clean bathrooms but not many around. Power only at sites. Water and dump station available though. Good location for lakes

I pulled off of 19 on my way up to new River gorge just to check this place out and I decided to stay because it’s a nice quiet little spot. I had to drive back up the road a bit to get service on ATT as there is none at the campsite - I paid $4 for a day access pass which allowed me to camp here for free. GoVAOutdoors is the name of the app you can download and purchase the permit through - search WMA Camping authorization and it will prompt you from there.
Now for my experience- the first 4 hours I was here were amazing, very quiet and lovely weather. I made friends with an old dude named bob and we just hung out for a little while and then I went to swing in my hammock. ENTER WHITE TRASH: The other 3 campers that showed up have zero idea what campsite etiquette is. Hammered drunk, blasting loud music from 4pm to 12am, i politely asked them to turn it down around 10pm and they started screaming at me and turned it up louder and they continued to cuss me out in between songs for the next two hours. The last campers got in at 12am and they fired up a shitty old generator to blow up their air mattresses which took them about 40 minutes. All in all beautiful spot that was ruined by Appalachian a-holes.

Great little informal campground with a few fire pits and access to the river. The highway is noisy but if you can ignore that, the rest is great. There was only one camper while I was there.

Very nice and quiet place to stay one or more nights, water front. 49.87686, -120.90810

Update to last night’s check in. The Gazebo site is indeed different than the other one on the map. I’m not sure how google maps sent us to the Gazebo as it’s way over on the other side of town. This location is much more accessible than the other one. Enjoy!

Cute little campground!
As mentioned by others, the sites for vans and tents in the back are very well shaded and have lots of privacy. (We paid $42 for level gravel van site, no electric)
Showers and bathrooms are nice and clean.
Quiet in the van area with so many birds singing.
Bugs were pretty bad so screening is highly recommended. 👍
(*Avoid the porta potty in the field area near vans/tents. It has been neglected and is pretty nasty.)

Grand stationnement derrière le casino. Il y a un affiche qui mentionne le stationnement pour VR. Très tranquille pour y passer la nuit.

Nice little pull off with a fire ring and tails, just off the side of the road. In National Forest.
Metro has 2Bar worked with no problems.
Be mindful of Bears.

We stayed here for one night. Its just at somebody’s property but it was really nice. We asked if we could stay and he offered us a room, electricity, own bathroom. We didnt use the room but slept in our own tent. But if you are in need of a place or want to safe money in Pantanal you can definitely ask if you can stay here. Its a man alone and he really likes the company. They have cows, cats, saw foxes, wild pigs, flamengos in the lagoon behind the fazenda, snakes (didnt saw but they have), etc.

As described. Spent a quiet night after a nice game of disc golf. Never heard a train until after 8 am. One other van with me. Watch out for tics. I found 3 in the van, one on me and fortunately, none on the dog.

We had to leave at 2am, mosquitoes were able to access inside the RV through the air conditioning pipes. Beautiful place though, we couldn’t handled the mosquitoes situation.

We were passing through and looking for a CG in the area that would be close to walking trails. We're self-contained in a 25 foot MH and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed 2 nights, mid-week, mid-June without reservations. The CG did not fill during our stay. The out of state fee was $27.50/night.

This is a nice, small CG. There are 35 sites that vary in size from small (pop-up or tent) to extra large (35' camper) and are relatively close together. They are arranged nicely around 2 circles with some greenery separating them to increase privacy. The sites are dirt and may require some leveling. Each site has a picnic table and a fireplace, and firewood can be purchased. We did not use the three water sources and pit toilets that are spread through the CG. There are 3 showers near the entrance. They were clean with moderate water pressure and ample hot water. There was a usable ATT cell signal in the CG and an intermittent/unreliable Verizon signal. There's no dump station. A free dump station without rinse water or potable is available at the Freeport Sewer District 15 min away.

We enjoyed the miles of walking paths throughout the park.

We had something to eat and drink at the restaurant next to the Roman bath. Beautiful lawn with seating areas in the shade. Then spend the night in the parking lot. Some music from the restaurant in the evening, but that did not bother us. We slept well. There are also a number of stray dogs, but very friendly. The restaurant itself also has some small dogs that make more noise 😁

The site was obviously not being kept up (mown, etc) so I called Monona County Sheriff’s office. They said it’s ok to stay but it’s not patrolled. I didn’t feel safe. Maybe if there had been somebody else there., I would have stayed.

Beautiful spot along the swift-flowing river; wish I had brought a kayak like my neighboring camper did. Definitely use the South entrance to the U-shaped parking area -- North entrance very bumpy. ("First" and "Second" depend on direction of travel so this should clarify). Walking distance to hot springs, nice but found one too hot and the others just warm.
