Hotel Baskent & Camping. Electricity at sites. They have a restaurant too, we had a great dinner there. Staff is very friendly.
We paid 45 TL for one night.
Wifi is alright.
Beautiful surroundings. There is a swimmingpool too, but we haven’t tried it.

Really great spot! Quiet during the night and just a very few visitors during the day.
It‘s just beautiful with the rock formations. Perfect stop if want to get used to the height on the way to bolivia.
Really no 4x4 needed.

I didn't like the place. There were too many trucks and machines for road maintaining.

A quarry in the valley off the N-35 KKH.
No facilities, no mobile coverage, not too visible from the road.
The police are a pain in this area as they want to escort you (if you're not Pakistani). They also wanted me to use hotels. I managed to shake them off eventually.
This place has a steep rocky road down into it so 4x4 or Motorcycles only.

We stayed for 3 nights in a double bed room. It was clean, kind staff and pet-friendly. Great shower! Fridge in the room! We payed 7500 per night, so no extra fee for the dog. The breakfast was very little. First morning only two eggs and tea, next mornings they served bred with the eggs!

This is across the road from est. Campgrounds of North Creek. Go up hill on gravel after timber shelter. Sign for camping. Loads of pads almost all on slopes but there are occasional fire pits. Gravel road had about 10 cars pass in one evening. Head across to North Creek campgrounds for potable water and toilets.

Ask at the reception of Hotel Canadian gor Tony. Tiny is from Florida and lives since more than 15 years in Honduras, all the time in this area. He has a lot experience in diving. We did a three tank dive around Cayo Cochino today and it was great! We saw Eagle Rays, Barracuda, a huge Tiger Grouper, lots of small colorful fish, beautiful corals and a airplane wreck. The water was super clear and calm. A three tank dive was 125,- $ p.P. (inkl. Nationalpark fee of 5,- $) We were only 2, price may go down if more people. We had delicious lunch (grilled fish, rice and beans, fried bananas) on one of the smaller islands for 7,- $.

As of July ‘18 there is still no adouana office yet. So you can cross, yes, but no stamps whatsoever!

Don’t let Google Maps fool you into taking this ‘short’ road from
Laguna Lachua to Palenque or vice versa.

The military guys who let us pass told us we could get stamps in Comitan or Palenque, but when we came in Palenque and asked at the migracion (white orange building near Chedroui), they told us it’s not true. We had to drive all the way to the border of El Ceibo to explain the whole story and get our Guate exit stamps and Mex entry stamps...
So just don’t go through this bordercrossing.
Besides, the road is very very bad. The guatemala side is bumpy dirt road, the 307 at the mexican side is bumpy asphalt.

Small hotel room in the backyard. The „receptionist“ is a young guy at the age of 16 (max). One room costs 10.000dram but I offered him 4.000 dran and it‘s ok ;) there is also a parking place for motorcycles in the backyard.

Good place to spend a night coming from/to the Park. There is few picnic tables, a pit toilet and there is a small lake/swamp. Place for few tent and accessible for big rigs. The only thing, there is a lot of mosquitoes and flies. A lot.

Very interesting place with fantastic views and excellent sunsets! Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. Amazing maritime decorating throughout. Agree with all the previous comments- all amenities are top notch! Would have stayed more than one night but they were having a large party and we did not want to get in the way.

As described, good place to spend a night, especially as all campgrounds we checked were fully booked. Clean bathroom w/ running water, trash boxes and picknick tables/benches. 4 other RVs/ campervans spent Friday night at this parking lot. Still no „no overnight“ sign and free. The best yet is the view with many whales, some of them incredible close to the shoreline. Best viewing during high tide. According to locals whales like this spot due to the fact that the sea gets very quickly very deep.

Nice but not free. Requires Washington Discover Pass ($10/day pass, $30/annual pass) which you get at the nearby gas station. Flat, large, clean place with many sites and multiple dry toilets. Quiet. All sites have picnic tables and grills.

Camped here but there was no surf! Quite a nice spot we chose next to some old fire pits just away from the parking point. Nothing around, town isn’t too far to get supplies. Worth a visit :)
