Real popular spot on the weekend!!! Lots of trailers and tents. People in the water in boats and just floating around. Tons of areas around the pond to camp. No amenities. Fun atmosphere. Easy going in to the pond however around the pond the mud can get slippery fast. Thumbs up!

Not much to add to the description. We paid 24,10€ for two adults and a 8 year child with a tent without electricity. Clean and good amenities. Play playground was 👍 according to “the expert”. WiFi for 1€/h according to signs. Didn’t tried it.

A hotel next to the main road. Quite clean and tidy. In rooms are solar showers only but there is really hot shower in the corridior. Good WiFi. There is a small yard behind the hotel to park your car. After small negotiations we paid 50PEN for double room.

Cool little park. Road from Cochabamba took about 6 hours. For almost half the way the road was in the river bed as they are improving the real road. Oh and we were able to buy gas at a tienda in town a few blocks up from the guide office.

There are signs now saying no overnight parking. We decided not to stay, so not sure if they are enforcing it or not.

filled our 2 USA propane tanks on Saturday afternoon. No problem.

Beautiful lake and very quiet. Note that the lake has leaches if you decide to take a dip.

Very nice hostel in the town centre, relatively quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Stuff was nice. Gated parking for one car. Private room 185Q, comfy double bed, plenty of room space.

Nice little campground with VERY basic amenities. Offers lots of birds, a nice walk of about 5 km, where we saw a big anteater, giant storks, vultures and more.

The friendly ranger provided wood for a fire. No one there in august, therefore very quiet.
It is quite a detour from Hwy 81, if you are just looking for a place to stay for the night. We have been there 2 nights and it was well worth it.

Great Place to stay for a night or two. You probably won‘t be alone there, as the place is quite popular, but it‘s next to the beach and very quiet.

One of the longest and most tedious border crossings so far. Arrived at 6:30 am when it was empty and people were nice but as the morning went on the staff got more irritated and annoyed. If you haven’t filled out the permit online, you can do it there. Took about an hour but be ready to answer tons of questions from where you’re going to profession and marriage. Some super personal. Then we had our van thoroughly inspected and they even brought a dog to sniff it. Wanted to see all of our camera gear (we hid the drone). After 4 hrs of this they messed up the van paperwork and put down the wrong make and model. When we asked to correct it they said ‘Eh should be fine’ and refused to correct it. I guess we shall find out when we exit Nicaragua.

If you have a pet you will need health certificate and rabies shots. Costs $10 right next to fumigation.

This place was awesome! Gorgeous panorama. Several bunches of locals/tourists on the beach through the day but very few stayed and if you go far enough down the beach it’s very private. 10/10

Good large supermarket with lots of bread and vegetables

We visited in the dead of winter which is not the season for basically anything unfortunately. Unlike us, do check this beforehand to avoid disappointment and better spend time elsewhere (whale watching at beaches prior to park was fantastic!)

Great little free camp next to the river. It's quiet small, but i managed to get my B Class in and turned round (just). Must be self contained, no facilities other than a couple of fire pits.

Typical colombian restaurant with really nice food and friendly staff. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner.

Area with some spots for wild camping. Also rumanian campers around. Beautiful.

It exists and it's free. We see the National Park entrance from here.
It's possible to use toilets inside during opening hours. There's also a chicken fast food counter.

A nice big place surrounded by trees, but not a lot of shadow. It’s almost hidden from the road and dust free. From the road you have to cross a little bit of bush to enter it, but just some grass. We didn’t slept here because it was midday, but had a quiet rest for lunch.

A little Ferry to cross the river. It costs 90 R for a car and 100 R for a camioneta (our Landrover Defender was categorized as a camioneta...). Bigrigs are also possible.

Looks like an unofficial boat ramp access to the lake. You can squeeze a couple of vehicles in here and also about 200m north along the road.

Very nice and welcoming place for overlanders in need of a quiet break :) the view on the coffee plantation is really nice and if you’re lucky you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets!
The owners are really nice, especially you can share travel/overlanding memories as they know what you are talking about ;)
Vincent can also show you how to process the coffee beans, and if you are up to you can even help and harvest some !

We really loved and recommend this place!

Really nice bar with happy hour everyday from 5pm to 8pm and all night long on Saturday. 2×1 cuba libre for 15 Q. Beer is 18 Q. Great food with big porcions and a lot of veggie options. About 35 - 45 Q the dishes. Nice terrace with a view on lake. Super nice owner. We spent all our nights here. It's not a only a gringo bar, there is a lot of locals here. To conclude we loved this place! :)

It's still 40 Q and the brunch is huuuuuuge ! 4 big courses : a big bowl of fruits, a vegetables soup, a big plate of eggs, potatoes, bread and 2 pancakes with syrups. All you can drink coffe and tea. Super tasty! Super nice staff. We didn't ate for the rest of the day. Highly recomended.

It's a camping (15 places for motorhome or tent, 7 more only for tent) and a beach bar with private beach (parking for visitor as big as camping). 12€ or 1500 lek per night, all included (camping-car or van, all persons, electricity and water)

Really good experience. Very helpful and honest, doesn't rip you off. We had our brake pads changed here + disks refurbished and paid 65 dollars incl. parts. Stayed here for one night and he even gave us the wifi password. Really nice and professional guy

There are really nice places. Although it is only to sleep.
