Busy place but amazing customer service! Very honest mechanics at reasonable prices. They won't be able to put your vehicle on the jack if it's too tall so make sure to ask/let them know about that when you contact them. Great location - within walking distance of Walmart and grocery stores.

Leaving Kazakhstan took a very long time. Maybe this was because it was Sunday evening. There was a long line of cars. And occasionally the gate opened to let in some cars again. Only the driver is allowed to stay at the car, the passengers have to go through the passenger hall. At the passenger hall it was incredibly crowded and everyone was pushing. I felt like a sardine and it took a long time. The car was hardly checked. So if there is a row of cars, I recommend that the passengers try to cross the border allready, because for the passenger it takes longer than the driver.

Fun boat trip if you want to spot dolphins! 150.000 rials(yes 1€) per person for 1,5 hours on a small boat. You can also take a private boat if you want to pay more. Ticket office at the parking.

Rather new guesthouse/hotel with nice clean rooms, safe large parking area, swimmingpool, free Wifi and breakfast for 40$ 2 people. The owner is a nice indian guy.
You have a nice roundview of Kigali opposite the plateau.

This is a very fast flowing road side spring. The water is lovely and cold and fresh. We filled up all our tanks here.

This is a great spot for Ethiopia. We stopped for 30 mins to cook up some food and no-one has bothered us. It’s next to a main roads in the woods. It’s very alpine and no-one lives nearby.

We are a family of five here to serve Peru with a medical mission team for two years we are from Oklahoma and have a deep passion for overlanding I am a certified mechanic from the United States and my wife is a family doctor and works at one of the best clinics in Cusco which is next-door to our house and they provide a care dental and general medical health or adults and children most of the doctors are from the United States then we would like to serve anybody passing through that need advice or any help we have a secure place to help somebody to have a hot meal hot shower or just to share your story and aventures

Parking lot next to sports fields in San Giuliano, a small town about halfway between Lucca and Pisa. It’s a quiet parking lot overnight and near the main road. We stayed here to avoid seedy Pisa, there are so many bad reviews about people being broken into and we didn’t want to drive around aimlessly hoping to find somewhere we felt confident. 5 minute walk to the station. To Pisa it’s 10 minutes and €1.50 I don’t imagine it’s much longer to Lucca.

Procedure is similar to other cities. Office opens at 8:00, be there early. First you have to talk to the boss. He will ask some questions like where do you want to go, where do you stay, why do you need X days,... He seems to be a really kind man, talked also about football and stuff. But he also has this aura of “don’t fuck with me”. Anyway, we didn’t mention that we are driving, we only said we sleep in tents in the city park. Was not a problem. Needed 3 photos, a copy of the first passport + visa page. Money must be transferred in two different banks, 345000 rial in Melli bank, 5000 rial in Ghavamin bank. After that a processing time of ~3h was needed until we got our 30 days extension. We had 3 days left until expiry (2 of that weekend).

There is an unpaved road from the highway that leads to this place. It is a little sandy, but no problem without 4x4. Beautiful view and quite. Every now and then some youngsters on motorbikes drive down the beach, but everyone was friendly. Solid 3G, weak LTE Irancell.

WARNING: just during the day. At the evening friendly military guys escorted us to a public beach due to unauthorised frontier area.

13,500 room with AC good for a night. Tired, but pretty clean. Comfortable and quiet if you get a room away from the street.
Restaurant basic but cheap. WiFi ok to slow.

Very good food and beer on tap! Cost 42 manat for lunch for 7 people, including 12 beers. Owner is very nice!

A nice mirador with great views into the valley and only a short walk (10 min) from some interesting and romantically overgrown ruins offering stunning views into two canyons!!

We asked at the entrance gate (S 3 pP and S 2 p child) whether it was ok to stay the night. They said no problem. The parking lot is not too level but we were allowed inside (small roundabout) after 6 pm and it is perfectly level there. Parking lot would offer room for 3-4 medium sized rigs but it is quite busy with visitors during the day - inside at the roundabout our big rig fit in easily.

There are good toilets (no light at night) and running water (?potable) - road there is in reasonable condition, not necessarily 4WD required but a bit bumpy and I guess it will be muddy once it rains more.

Great place for new tires and service. 4 new tires, alignment and balancing for only $400. Regular P225 75R15 tires... each S/300,000 each tire (5% added for Visa card use). Very nice and professional

Also at this side of the beach camping is possible. Locals come here for fishing. In the evening the boarder patrol visited me but said everything is safe. Stayed here 3days without problem. Locals drive on the beach with 2wd but be very careful if you want to do this.

Dont attempt to cross this border without vehicle insurance. They denied the entry of our van because we dint have one. We were planning to buy at the first town as we are usually doing the last 6 years in almost 50 countries. We had to take the barge & go back to Paraguay. We dint manage to buy online (that was the plan b but no success). Other than that, they asked for the usual paperwork (passports, vehicle registration & INSURANCE!)

Easy accessible spot at a small creek. Good gravel road, no 4x4 needed. A couple of camping spots and a fire ring on this side of the creek. Follow the road over the creek and it will lead you to a more secluded spot that can’t be viewed from the road. Beautiful mountain views and very quiet, hardly anyone drives by. Ok cell Service, 2 bars with T-mobile.

Nice matrimonial room for 75 bs after negociations. Good wifi, no breakfast, shower with lots of mosquitos. Nice for the price (average more expensive in Samaipata)
