We spent 2 nights here, parked on the street, right next to the park. It’s a very quiet area and we checked with the police if this was a safe spot and they told us that it is and it’s one of the most controlled areas by them. San Marcos toilets are just a few blocks away and the historical center is 5 minutes walking distance. We were told Aguascalientes is very dangerous but we felt quite safe in this place. Be aware that there are very little spots for parking large cars all around the city.. we spent an entire morning driving from park to park looking for a place to park, and we came across this spot and we really loved it. We came here for the festival Día de los Muertos and after 10pm everything was very quiet.

Tires shop with professionnal service. They have a wide range of products to choose from and they mount, balance and align the tires. Lucky or not, but my 4x 215/85R16 Sumitomo tires (4x4 heavy duty) turned to be surprisingly cheap... 13'000 lempiras so 542USD. For the four of them and the service. Should I haven't missed anything, looks like a deal to me.

Place is as described, with formal spaces under great-smelling eucalyptus trees, although we parked in the field by the pool bc when we were there the nuts/seeds were falling from the trees, and with a hard-top rooftop tent that can get kind of noisy. Price is now 10,000 Pesos per person per night. Toilet block was clean (no toilet paper), and there are hot showers. Staff were very kind, and the admin lady spoke excellent English. We had the place to ourselves, and it was great!

An unexpected superquiet Campground for motorhomes (no tents) in a city where it is close to impossible to finden a good secure overnight-spot . It is part of the Sportsfacitilies of Banco Do Brasil. Up on a Hill are 5 marked spots for Motorhomes of any size. There is water and electricity at every site. There is no bathroom nearby . Those are at the swimmingpool 5 minutes away. They charged us 100R in total for two people and a motorhome
It is around 25 km from the City center. We used Uber to get into town. That took around 30 - 40 Minutes at a cost between 30 and 40 R depending the time of the day.
There is a small sign at the turnoff from the mainroad indicating AABB.

One of the best coffee shops and pastries restaurants in Puno. The atmosphere are great for spending an afternoon working. The food, coffee and pastries are absolutely incredible.
You have to buy the good stuff down stairs if you want to enjoy it in the coffee shop.

Quite a long drive from the highway. Very narrow at parts, had to get out and move branches to get our promaster through. the actual overnighting spot is up a short but steep incline with a very sharp turn. can be very windy, we got rocked all night. view is probably very pretty if the fog clears.

Drove me to a place that made new hoses and to a a machinist that was able to shave off some to make some custom u joint These guys are great. I was there two days. Slept at their house. They went out of their way to help me track down the things I needed I could work on the truck on street in front of the shop

This is a reliable water purification center run by an really nice guy named Martin, who speaks good English. He charges 10 pesos/garafon at this time. He has a hose - ask to use “la manguera” to fill your tanks more easily. The quantity of water used is less clearly determined but the haze is worth the ease.

Hours:
Mon-Sat: 8-8
Sun: 8-5

btw, “arco iris” is Spanish for rainbow, subsequently the sign is rainbow colored...

Great spot to spend the night if you're riding on the beautiful unpaved 110 between Chachapoyas and Nuevo Tingo. We asked the principal of the secondary school in town and a few locals nearby for permission to stay at the field and they were happy to say yes. Covered area for hammocks and flat (yet muddy) area for tents. Plenty of room for vehicle parking and there's a latrine.

nice place but let down by a couple of dogs wandering around, despite no dogs signs. There were no other guests so they must have been from a park employee. Also met a young guy from the park hiking with his cellphone full blast reggaeton, heard him long before we met him.
Cold at night, 0 C inside the camper at 7am
Also be aware the observatory is closed on Wednesday.
Road no problem with F-350 & truck camper but only a small number of campsites are accessible for this size of vehicle, we are 26'.

Amazingly helpful guy who can accept packages and hold them for you!

Great for last minute amazon orders before México.

Just email him first to set you up for an account and it’s something pathetically small like $1/package. Legend

Gravel parking lot for RVs and heavy trucks. 1 night stay allowed. Close to the I-5 so quite a lot of highway noise. Not ideal in our opinion, but it was okay for a one night stay.
