Yeah, we suggest moving on to another beach. There’s other options further south that are way better. Sure, it’s beautiful but so are the others.

200 pesos... for,
- After offering horseback, the Cowboy was flirting at our van. Suggested tequila later on. (See review below) We saw him awkwardly prowling young ladies at the bar later on. (Side note- the bar plays music loud at night, which can be a plus or minus, depending on your preference)
- Toilets absolutely disgusting.
- 7:22 am Anna’s decided to blare tunes so loud that if you were near the restaurant you would suffer ear damage. Audible everywhere on the beach.
- A constant barrage of vendors approached the vehicle throughout the day. (Suspiciously they began at 7:35, just after we awoke to Anna’s alarm clock - four vendors by 8 am)
- Only a few palapas available.
- Can get crowded.

Positives... it’s a beautiful bay with green blue water. After a drive down the baja I suppose one would be excited.
Just remember, just past here there are others!

It's very curious to see people knee in front of a motorcycle and put flowers around it. Unexpected and funny!

Friendly staff. Possible to leave luggages and bicycles for storage while gone hiking. Kitchen with minimal stuff. Place is clean and tidy. Quite noisy because there is no common room beside the kitchen area. Good location but not very relaxing. 350ARS/pp for a bed in dorm with bathroom in the room.

Nice camping next to the main road what makes it a little bit loud because of some traffic. Spacious camping spots with electricity, braai area, tap and sink. Very clean and well maintained ablutions. There was a nice night guard who opened a gate. Owner came to open a little shop for us even though it was already closed (after 7 pm). You can buy there some soft drinks, water, frozen meet but no beers. Pretty fast and good Wifi in the reception. Downside: enormously lots of bugs and flies which are everywhere including your meal so not recommended for vegetarians.

Amazing camping in the river. Lots of spots very separated so you have privacy (there is a group of school kids right now, and we don't listen anything). Every spot has bbq, fireplace, some have table. No electricity at spots, but yes in the camping. Enough shade, under trees and under roofs made of wood.
There are hot showers, and laundry space.
No problem with our dog.

Very beautiful and comfy, but expensive. 10.000 pesos chilet pp, but we got a better price since we stayed a few days and it is the end of low season, so we payed 8.000 pp.

You can get into the river to enjoy the magic energy of the valley, and also admire the amazing sky. (:

This place was awesome, Hans is one of the best host and makes the BEST BREAD! We planned for 1 day and ended up staying for 4, just good vibe and good energy from all the overlanders staying. Hans can also provide you with all the best places to see in Ecuador. Hot showers, clean bathrooms, great WIFI and of course great German beer. A must place to stay!!

Nice hostal in the middle of Tarabuco. Perfect place to visit the impressive Sunday Market. Place is run by a friendly Bolivian couple and their kids. Parking off the road is possible for one car: big rigs won't fit! We paid 30Bol per bed.

Family operation. Stop even if it looks closed. The goodies are cheap and FReSH!! Super nice folks. We got coffee, chocolate bar and chocolate balls for $7500! BTW- this road is rough and bumpy but no 4x4 needed.

We left our van for 6 weeks and all was well upon return. It rained a ton while we were gone but the van was dry! Recommend!
Note you cannot sleep in your van here - for security no one can stay overnight except the security guards.

The place looked almost abandoned, even on a Saturday. So, it’s really quiet and relaxing.
Price for two in a van with electricity is now 200 pesos when staying more than one day.
Internet works fine but is not really fast. Bathrooms are OK. Were cleaned after we arrived.
A real problem is the trash all around. Garbage has not been collected in weeks. Garbage bins are knocked down by dogs, resulting in more trash.
The place has potential but needs better maintenance and care.
Bugs after sunset force you to go inside.

We stopped in at 4:30 and spoke with reception in the store. The campsite was vacant but looked fine - on the beach, decent washrooms, gated. We said we were heading into town for dinner and to watch the divers and would be back after 9pm. They said that would be fine. We came back and no one was there to let us in... we honked, flashed our lights, called the number from google maps. No one was there to let us in! So we had to drive an hour to the next campsite on the other side of Acapulco; it was closed but luckily the guard let us in the gate to stay the night. It seems fine here, but if you stay make sure you’re in at a reasonable hour or get very clear close times from the admin.

Place is NOT accessible anymore unless you have a 4x4 with high clearance due to the rocky surface at the beginning of the path. We stayed a little further down at the empty gravel area.

We are with a tent and not with motorhome, so we asked to camp in Shell gas station and they said no. We went to YPF across the road and the manager said it was not safe, because we could be robbed. He said if we wanted to camp there, it could be behind the tent that sells watermelon. There, was a guy who told us it was safe and they stayed there all night, so the night guard could watch us. You can use the shower on Shell (free for women and 20 pesos for men), water and electricity available on a building near the watermelon tent. Don't stay there if you have a problem with the road noises, because it goes all night long.

We asked the coordinator, Sandra to stay here for two nights. She is a very kind person and let us use the kitchen and everything at school. Also she gave us the keys and matresses. It is very safe and quiet, and is located very near the ruta 16. Very nice place.
