Good hotel. Comfortable bed. Clean. Tv, towel, soap. Shower didn't work on our second day but the lady said it was because of the road works next door... No breakfast, they let us use the kitchen to cut some fruits and make coffee though. Parked the bike in the hallway but a bit trickey. /S 40 for matrimonial with private bathroom.

A peaceful and very secure place to spend the night. All as described, only thing to add is there were no showers available even at an additional price but there is a huge playground which our young children loved.

Hatta boarder crossing. Make sure to stop at the customs building 1km before the immigration check point to get your carnet stamped when leaving UAE. It is easy to miss as there is no gate. You can get mandarory Oman TPL insurance for your vehicle at the rest area between the border checkpoints. There are a couple of offices. We paid 250 AED for 3 month for a 12 ton camping truck at vision insurance (1 month would have been 200 AED).
On the Oman side make sure to tell the customs officials exactly where you need the CDP stamped as they are not that familiar with the process. When doing visa on arrival tell the immigration official how many days you want before. They first wanted to only give us 10 days but quickly changed it to 30.

We had no problems bringing our dog along, but did not take him out at either of the border installations.

Te Anau Bird Sanctuary has rescue birds of all sorts. The Takah'e are really special. Only about 300 left. The DOC people feed them and give a wee talk about them and other conservation efforts. Please be sure to leave a donation to continue these valuable programs.

Really worth a stay.
Also our navigator misled us, despite the correct coordinates; coming from Los Lagos it's a dirt road BEFORE the river, in good shape. Today called Turismo Tell.

Wonderful spot. There are no signs at the road entry that say privado or prohibido so we drove down there and didn’t see anybody til we left in the morning. Road is pretty steep.

Perfectly acceptable, clean hotel two blocks away from the cathedral with excellent parking for downtown Merida, max height about 2.4m and length about 7m. Price is M$330 for a double with fan, 470 with AC. Telly, ok Wi-Fi, warm water (in the morning) and friendly staff.

update: place was cool but police told us to leave after 5 days. 3 campers were too much

there is good street parking just in front of the municipal beach, one of the few options for nice and free access to the lake. in the public beach area (open from 9 am to 6 pm) you have picnic benches, a nice grassy area, a water hose, shade, a nice pier to relax and swim. there are some cabanas and also a power plug. there is a BBQ area aswell. all free. also there are toilets and showers for 3 pesos. there is a shop for drinks and snacks. also some small food stands outside.
we parked on the Costera street just in front of it. there are some trees for shade in the street.
police patrolled all night. quiet at night. close to the main square and ruins. felt safe.

Nice small town plaza on a Sunday night. Asked the police and they said no problem. Restaurants open until 9pm. We parked behind the ‘stage’ to be off main roads. Some electrical outlets in the plaza...

Around 2-3 km out of El Monte there is kind of event location which seems to be abandonned. Perfect campground especially for cyclists. No facilities here, so bring water and food. It's extremely romantic, calm and save. Out of view, no cars, no stress, just nice! Ask for casa magdalena. The owner showed up in the morning, very nice. There are even possobilities to work a couple of days for him. It's a location were wedfings and parties take place during the weekend. Within the week there is normally nothing.

It is a great place. Spent new year here. You could see the fireworks from a couple of blocks. Was alone for most of the time but the guys would come check on me regularly and had very good advice to give. Had a great time! They have a very friendly dog. Peron.

Great place.
we rolled in around 10pm at Xmas holidays.
They asked someone in the day use picnic spot to move so we could camp there.
Afterwards they explained that in the summer everyone has reservations because it is soooooo busy!
It was busy, the road was dusty and the park was packed with people.
Overall very nice people and the park is beautiful.
The campground supplies all toiletries and soap as the products are all biodegradable.

Bathroom and shower are available (dirty and rustic) . And guy of restaurant was very friendly(if there isn't water in tank, you talk with it). We felt safe.

Abandoned garden right at the exit of the town (direction Puerto Guadal). Place to pitch your tent. We did it at 23:00, nobody bothered us. Nobody but not nothing : be aware of dogs in the area. A husky followed us from the city center and stayed around our tent (very kind dog) but the others dogs in the area weren’t so happy. There was a little argument between 2 dogs but everything’s fine for us. Very good located to start hitchhiking in the morning. The bus station (hit and wind protected) is not far and was open at 6h30.

I can imagine a van or a big rig in this place as well.

One of the best landscapes of the province of Manabí, the very friendly people care about the welfare of the visitor. In this place I met Humberto Laaz, a young entrepreneur in the area of ecological tourism. The place has a large parking area and camping by the river and the waterfall "The jump of the armadillo" helped me connect wifi from his neighbor who helped us with the password. Provide bathrooms, electricity, and plenty of water. I hope you visit and other opinions.

Large and grassy campground beside the water. Bathrooms with hot shower from 7pm to 7am. We paied 200.- per person + 350.- for the van - that‘s very expensive... but you pay just the night and are allowed to stay there for the whole next day as well, so we left the campground at 8pm (after shower;-)).

The view is nice - but the rest not! Lots of trash (people use the surrounding as a trash-dump),) some ship-wrecks at the beach and some stray dogs. - We did not like the place and left.

Quiet location next to vacant lot and construction site. Middle class neighbourhood felt very safe. Good for free camping in a Saturday night. Nobody hassled us at all. So much better than the Walmart parking lot.
