Restaurant on the beach with rudimentary tables and benches sheltered by canvas awnings. It does not pay off (we eat in paper plates and cutlery are mold shells) but the place is absolutely sublime. Facing the sunset, a team is working around braai to cook a gargantuan menu of 10 dishes of grilled fish, curry, meat, lobster. Even homemade bread and dessert are cooked over a wood fire. For once, this restaurant is frequented by all the people. it is both popular but also very popular and well known. We have a great evening. Food, atmosphere, decor, everything is perfect. Since we are in South Africa, we go to the restaurant frequently. The reason is that you eat well and that prices are affordable. Hard to find a place in the world where you can make a meal as rich and tasty as tonight for 20 €. The drinks are at cost because the restaurant operates on the principle of BYO (Bring You Own) which means that you can come with your own drinks without any extra charge

This bus stop is 3x3m, but. it doesn't matter. It is not allowed to sleep there as it was in description. Security will visit you before night and said that it is not possible to sleep. They have a security camera. It is very good place to rest, eat something and recharge phone a little.

Designated rest area where overnight car camping is allowed. Quiet area with paved parking spots. Easy and free.

Restaurant is great. Try the crab claws with paprika ': it's a delicious. Price are very reasonable.
We felt very safe.

we spent one night on the beach here with one other person. really pretty beach and easy to get to if you take the main road at the big sign for Juncalito. hard packed and no clearance or sand issues until you get to the beach. we used 4x4 to get to the far end of the beach. we could still see and hear the road so only did one night. pretty beach with nice sand.

I spent about ten days total with Miryam and her lovely family at Tu Parada en Cuenca. I enjoyed staying there so much that I even brought my family there when they came to Ecuador for a visit. They stayed in one of several bedrooms available inside of the house. Miryam is one of those special hosts on the Pan-American, she’s willing to go to any length to ensure your comfort - whether arranging tours or helping you fix something. We became good friends and she came with my family to eat our first dinner of Cuy! This campground is a simple, level driveway capable of fitting rigs of any size and has hot showers and a kitchen along with fast WiFi. Come for the amenities, stay to spend time with Miryam. Couldn’t recommend Tu Parada en Cuenca more strongly!

Pretty green lawn and nice river. Best spot spot to stay outside of Chaiten (which is horrible as are all the campsites therein). Bathrooms are clean with hot water. But there is a sewerage smell which is off-putting. The campsite is small and got crowded so lost the magic for us.

Very fresh salad, best pizza in BCS, if you are hungry try the pulled pork sandwich. They also sell fresh bread that is worth the price. Next door is a cool museum if you have time.

Save our life as well.
After the long and tough drive from the border “paso roballos” we arrived late and we was looking for the closest place we can find for the night.
It gave us really good protection from the strong wind.
Also was at weekend so no one was here.

bad experience. A Woman staff not is good persons, not authorized tent but yes to European people, not solidarity with latins... not recommended..

On the road to the starting point of sendero's Los Gatos and Lago Chico and Mirador Douglas Tompkins, here is a parking lot for vehicules with a 2WD. A sigh says that from here onwards, only 4x4 cars can continu. The road doesn't get worse, just steeper. However, to get to this parking lot, you need high clearance. We didn't dare risk it with our campervan and walked up from the campsite. It's an easy walk of just 4 km extra one way (and then a little further to the starting point of the trails).

Hostel, tent camping and very camper van friendly site if you don’t need hookups. Lovely vibe, clean bathrooms, hot showers, restaurant and bar with great views.

Stayed on camp 4 with a private ablution.

Fire and braai place. Big kitchen area with sink. Shade. Lawn and brick surface.

I got a special and paid 130 pppn. New price will be 150 pppn.

Stopped in Gurrero Negro for two nights. The second night we stayed there after driving out to explore. it's about a 30 min drive from town but practically paved the whole way. Great for vans.The end of town and the entire area of the drive is an aviary preserve with lots of beautiful birds. was nice to see the tide roll out and the marshy ground appear. a family lives by the lighthouse and there is a boat dock where locals come. everyone is fairly friendly.

Nice wild camp at beach site at the ead of the road, we payed 10 DH for parking, open loo at beach, french style, but ok. Nice locals around, we felt safe, 3 p. with 2 4x4

Very quiet place on a plateau with view to the dam with bushes to hide a little bit away from the village. Nobody bothered us during the night. Track is a little bit difficult to find. 4x4 not necessary!

SCAM. DO NOT PARK HERE BETWEEN 7am & 9pm. There a no signs and the place looks completely abandoned but during the day it is used as a private and paid parking lot. They will block your car/van on purpose with other cars as soon as you leave and not let you out AND they ask you to pay a fee for parking! We parked here around 6:30am because the parking manager(or scammer) from Las Perlas ( official free parking lot next door) told us we couldn’t fit in the regular parking so we should park here and there would be no problem. The lot was completely empty with zero signs of life and hidden from the main road by a few trees. When we came back(around 8)our car was surrounded on all sides by local cars. The guy said we could call a tow truck but we would have to pay X amount of pesos to move every car that was blocking us ( minimum 4) plus a fee for the inconvenience we caused him..... Very dishonest. He just walked away when I started to ask his name and a permit for his parking business. We got stuck here until late afternoon.

Good place to park for the night right across from the San Francisco Zoo. The ocean is right across the street and you are essentially parked between two highways. You can only access it from the northbound side. The noise settles down at about 10pm. No one bothered us in our small motorhome. A few other RV’s and truck campers and cars where parked there too.

Best one in Tanzania so far! Beautiful location with sand beach, lots of couches, hammocks and a pool (that anyone there can use). Not the best food but good enough. 8$ pppn for camping, electricity included. WiFi in dining house, although it varies in speed and so on. Hot and good showers! Very nice owners and personnel. They have lots of activities that you can book for the next day so you could definitely stay for a while here. Some other campers and backpackers here as well if you want to meet some people.

Nice spot. We arrived after the ruins closed for the day and the guard had no problem for us to camp there. We were the 3rd ones for the night. Bathrooms were closed, didn‘t ask for Wifi.
