Nice spot. We arrived after the ruins closed for the day and the guard had no problem for us to camp there. We were the 3rd ones for the night. Bathrooms were closed, didn‘t ask for Wifi.

Nice camping close to the border. There are beautiful flat hidden spots and good wind protection with tap water fire pits and tables.
I saw a beautiful friendly fox and some rabbits walking around my tent in the afternoon, and a lot of birds. The sky is absolutely amazing at night. Not sure about the access if you have a big rig, I doubt recommend to get in. For a vehicle type sprinter, no problem. Paid $120 for the night.

Ok place. The spring for swimming didn’t look very inviting. Decent restaurant. Noisy at night u til late as all the locals drive out and party here at the end of the road. No flamingos this time of year

This is a fairly run down backpackers, at least what's left of it after the fires in 2017, however it was perfect for us because it's a good distance away from town and any slums, it felt very safe for us with our rental car knowing it wouldn't be broken into. The owner was nice and very relaxed, he has a huge grassy yard with unlimited amount not space to camp. Plenty of room for big rigs, motos, and camper vans. braii facilities as well with as much free wood you can collect from the hereby Forrest.
We paid 110r pp during peak season to camp. 8 bed dorm 170r pp. peak season. also has private rooms, didn't ask price.

Enjoyed staying 1 night in the dorms and 2 nights in a private room. Dorms cost 150 pesos/pp per night, private cost 350 pesos per night. Hot showers available in the bathroom marked as such. 2 bathrooms available for all. We were able to park our 1200 cc Moto inside the gates and felt it was very safe. Fast wifi. Very kind couple own the residence and were helpful. Plus they have an adorable Siamese cat named Juno!

No vehicles allowed on the beach (although lots of locals drive past), but there’s a grassy bank (flat) where you can park up. Lots of rubbish around and quite a few people driving past. Otherwise a nice spot to spend an evening.

To where the road ends

Small place on the beach as described. However, we ended up not staying. I sent an email and Facebook message early in the morning of our arrival, so at least 3-4 hours in advance, along whether they had space, and how much it would be. I received no response. On arrival there seemed to be lots of space so over the gate I asked the guy how much it was. He said he needed to see my vehicle, which is a bit strange. He then said it would be R$100 pppn. That's over US$50 per night for the 2 of us. Given the previous prices listed even taking high season prices into account, I think the guy was trying to rip us off. Seriously over priced. We found a place to park for free, just round the corner. 200m from the beach and fine if you are self contained.

Good spot, nice view of the inlet. Relatively quiet, but local rednecks race their cars through the woods. (Saturday night) other than that very little traffic.

Camping on the parking lot of the visitor center. On the left side of the building is a place with tables, where it‘s allowed to cook. Otherwise it’s only allowed inside the camper. Free toilets 24hs, nice and clean.
Wifi didn‘t worked when we where here.

Agree with original post. 2019 prices: ac double bed room 16,000cfa, fan only room (fan masks mosque call to worship;-)10,000cfa (but manager, speaks English fluently, lowered to 8,000cfa). Dinner was well prepared and tasty, reasonably priced, beers too. Secure parking for maybe 3 (4?) Troopy sized cars—big rigs might have problems getting in gate. No mosquito net for bed, our room had good screening on windows—we still used mosquito coils. No hot shower in our room but who needs it? Reasonable WiFi speed— strong signal in restaurant and room. TV, didn’t watch. V friendly staff, recommended.

Great place. Lovely and quiet but within easy walking distance of the town. Secure parking for bikes and cars. Clean, comfortable and great views from the terrace. Bert is a great host and serves a good breakfast that will set you up for the day.
