Stayed here not knowing this was the site already posted. You need to take the turn off for the sendero furioso and drive another 2 k or so. Beautiful views, a little windy, but glad we didn’t have to exit the park or pay 8000clp pp to park in a parking lot at the campsite.

Good offer -milanesas, salads. They have also day offer. nice terrace for sitting. No wifi

The spot is great, sunset was epic and also the stars! Magnificent. We tried to climb with the car between the two main hills, but it was not possible with our motorhome, too steep. (Between the hills was very nice narrow place for a car) And then not easy to turn around. So we came back like 100 meters and stay on the side of the road. Quite cold in the night.

We stopped at their office to ask for the route to Jesus statue. They checked-in us in their book and informed us about the road condition. Friendly cops.

Did not get diesel at pump. No one wanted to give card. There was a guy selling 20l jerry Cans diesel for 500.000 each. So I drove to gas station at the border

Good place to stay next to the Nile. (You can go for a swim there) The owner is a very friendly and helpful guy. He can help you with mechanics and people in town.
Toilet and shower clean but basic. We were aloud to camp in front of the guest house.

Great location to visit the parrots in the morning. They have a big "No animales" sign at the entrance, but when we said we had a dog, they said no problem, as long as she was noy really big. She is 17 kg. Friendly owners.

Spent only an overnight with a motorhome. USD12,5 per person, USD20 for motorhome structure or USD3 for energy only. In my opinion, an expensive place, but it’s quiet and with a good infrastructure.

General clinic for medical care. Limited but good experience with a female Cuban Docter. Apparently the clinic was set up by an Italian Docter. Own laboratory where they can do (blood) tests. They also have a pharmacy.

Next to the border control going from Argentina to Chile

Same price level as on the Argentinian Side For NAFTA.

You can hike up to this historical site from Güicán for an amazing 360 viewpoint. The glaciers are visible as is town. Very beautiful and good practice for acclimating. It takes about 2 hours from town.

Very very good ice creams. With very original tastes. We had : harina tostada y miel/almendras/nueces !! 2000 CP for two tastes.

Super nice owner. Has wifi and offered us to park our van in his yard where you have some wind protection. He also offered another rig to connect to his electricity. Nice and filling sandwiches.

Spent 3 nights here. It was super chill, there is no one there for most of the day unless the surf is good, if it is not good though you would never know it got crowded. Little fresh water source at lake to fill showers or take a bottle shower, 5 minute walk to store.

We didnt find the way down either, saw one road with huge rocks, but even with 4x4 I would not risk it. At least not a fully loaden car for camping. Maybe there is another way down, we could not find?

We stayed a little higher up in the village in the corner of a small soccer field. Beautiful view over the village and the mountains.

Also mixed feelings about this place. The campsite is ugly and $10 for it seems too much. So I decided to stay in the dorms for 15$ which seemed a better deal: very clean, good hot water and impecable sheets.
Internet is not for free, you have to buy a voucher starting at 1500 kwatcha which it too much after paying $15 for a dorm when other cheaper places have it for free.
I didn't go to the restaurant, it was too pricey as well.
In conclusion: nice but expensive place, for only one night as stopover was fine.

This is the second 8t bridge. The first is 5 km north from here but we could easily get around by driving into the little stream. There is no way to go to a side road to avoid the second bridge. We park here and walk 2.5 km to the beginning of the hike to the Muelle de las Almas. Alternatively you can chat the public bus in Cucao or at the bus station of the ticket office which is 300 m north from here. We end up spending a very quiet night at the second bridge.

Cheap and Simple economic bungalows on the side of the road

this place rocks. they got everything a backpacker could want and nice friendly owners. great location and great prices. can't beat this place.

Excellent campground, but Wi-Fi is slowly and we had only H/H+ with telcel. 4G in town.

We payed here Bolivian price 3,7 BOB /liter. Nice guy, we gave him a tip.

Good, though a bit run down camping with sheltered tables, light, electricity, showers etc. We were sleeping in a car, paid 10,000 for two.

Finally!! Able to pull cash on the route 7 here with mastercard. All the other banks on the way south didn't work, banco estado
