Had a great lunch here. Extensive salad and hot table selections and a great choice in the bbq ( churrasceria) - just ask for what you want and they'll carve it for you or wait for the locals to choose and follow suit! Pay by weight. think it's about 40 reales per kg. We paid 36 R for lunch for two. You can park on the road opposite and keep an eye on your vehicle when we came it was full of local Fed Police, armed to their teeth, so safe inside! ;-)

We stayed at the "apartments" they own a few blocks away. We were there for about seven days while the car was at the mechanic, and before and after visiting Rurre. Location is incredibly convenient for the airport, local car parts stores, and generally being able to avoid driving in La Paz. Otherwise it's overpriced. Electric showers are barely warm. The whole place is freezing cold, especially the kitchen (they provide electric heaters for the rooms, but have no spares if yours breaks down). Also this is personal but the service wildly varied from friendly to downright cold and unhelpful, which left a sour taste. Cannot recommend.

Il y a une douche à l’usage des touristes. Ils demandent des dons (c’est pour une bonne cause). Il y a aussi de l’eau pour remplir les réservoirs de van.

We were unable to find this, the coordinates took us up a skinny road where we had to back down to the highway. The owners need to update their location and a contact number.

As described but perfectly acceptable. For big rigs the price was fine. Staff very friendly. We were unable to connect to wifi in our truck, had to go inside. Parking is around back in a big field that you share with some animals. Entrance is restricted with peaked center, we are 3.5m tall and we're just able to fit in. Wouldn't recommend for anything taller.

Our host Joseph was very friendly and went out of his way to make you feel at home. We had a nice gras shady spot, hot shower and a cold beer. We were happy. Only 15 000 ush for the two of us is a good deal for what you get. We had fish and chips for dinner and it was tasty.

Still a nice spot, but not for anxious overlanders! A looooot of elephants around us at night, very close to our car, and in the morning eating the bush. It looks like a warzone with all the broken and eaten trees. Would definitely not camp with a tent on the ground here. Because of the dry river at this moment there is more traffic on the dirt road which leads to the spot. But locals are friendly.

We paid $900,- for two cars from porto joffre to corumba.

This was our experience.
Warning: transport of tourists is not his main business.
We starten our trip with a drunken crew and spent the night next to a fazenda. The next morning they loaded 800 cows and we were surrounded by them. It was smelly.
Getting on the boat was easy. Getting of was a challenge.

Total trip: 2 nights/3days. They Told us 1,5 days.

We did not try the food.
The first day we saw kaijman and giantotters.

This is our FIRST FIVE STAR RATING. Beautiful views, access to swim in the lake, clean facilities, a very nice swimming pool, extremely nice hosts, e.g. Gabriel. Stood one night longer than planned & recommend to also stay a full day and use the Kajak (20 kCOP for two for a “Colombian” hour).

As there was some confusion about how to access this spot in the reviews: You will use the gate “Luxe by the Charlee” (not the brown gate next to it) drive uphill, pass the school on your left. At a right turn of the road, there is a private entry to your right (90 degree) which leads steep uphill on a gravel road. On your way up, you will pass a house and on top is the place. We have a Sprinter without 4x4 and we’re able to go up. But best walk it first to see if you can too (we parked the van right next to the road).

Payed 20 kCOP pppn. We also got some late afternoon lunch snacks, which they prepare for a day trip which eats at the restaurant for 45 mins every weekday.

Beautiful spot right on the river, about 100 yd west of the Dalton Hwy. A smaller rig, like a truck camper out camper van has room to turn around doing a 3 point turn. A longer rig, like our 30' TT plus 20' tow vehicle will have to back in. It's a straight shot, though, so not a big deal. There is a frontage road, so it's easy enough to pull off the highway and get turned around to line up for backing in. 2 buddy vehicles could fit side by side if you want. Tenters have 6 - 10 sites off either side of the driveway in clearings in the trees. Fire rings there. Drop dead gorgeous view of the river and the mountains. You can hear a little road noise, but there's not much traffic at night and it's not bothersome. There are at least 3 similar sites about 100 yards apart from each other, so if one is taken try going down the road a little. These coordinates are for the middle site, which is where we stayed.

large area with multiple fire rings. the road was easy enough and there were a few smaller areas we passed but could still fit larger rigs. great mountain views with few bugs. the only things is there are quite a lot of dried out cow patties but that's normal around these parts.

update: there may be two dogs (a husky and a sweet pit named Tyson) who hangout here during the day when their dad who lives down the hill goes to work. They are sweet but just something to know if you have aggressive pets.

We paid 50 Soles for a double room with bathroom. There were many hairs in the bathroom and also dirt. They didn’t give us any towels or toilet paper. Everytime we wanted to leave the hotel we had to call the receptionist on his mobile phone because he locked the front door. Not recommendable.

An absolutely beautiful spot, breathtaking views of the river and mountains.

We drove on bison were grazing the air strip.

we got our 38ft fifth wheel right against the river in this location, but plenty of room for any size rig along the old air strip, you could probably park 1000 big rigs on the air strip its massive!

note the turn of for this spot is a bit further south along the road and once you go through the trees you drive up the air strip parallell with the road for a good 800m. We missed the turn off the road first time.

i called ahead to try order parts from them, money was no object i needed the part!

I found them totally disinterested on the phone, they told me to email them details and said to get their email address from the website. email address wasnt on the website so called them again, finally got a detailed email through including pictures and they didnt even respond.
Part was a mech hanger for a 2019 trek roscoe so it wasnt like an impossible part to get either.

I do not recommend this shop.

Several parking sites on the way up, fits all size of rigs, quiet, maybe some locals, lots of security around and lots of cameras. Down in the valley nearly no chance to find a place, only at the tourist bus terminal at the end and behind the guarded area where local utility trucks are parking (right after the guard house and barrier on right side close to river).

Decent overnight stop in the backyard of Naygo Dwar Dhaba in Nako. Just ask if you can put up your tent in their backyard. Good spot if you've been held up in Peckong Reo with the permit and blasting on the highway.
Paid 250 Rupees and could use the simple bathroom facilities. Nice view over the valley can be a bit windy though. Not very confined as well but nobody bothered us at all. Very nice food at the restaurant.

We loved staying here. You can camp in big parking lot and use a room to bath and shower. Room was clean and water was hot. There is a bar and a restaurant on site. The bar was not very busy so very few disturbances. If you sleep in your car you will hear the busy roads. We paid 8000 Rwf pppn. I would recommend this place in Kigali. It is central and close to most things. Mami and Emmanuel the owners are very helpful. You can visit the prosthetics workshop in the front to see the good work they do.

Not a wild camp spot but the entrance road to the Wild Love and few other camps on the beach. 4x4 not needed, possibly high clearance for some areas and if not then just go very slow and you’ll be fine. Beautiful beach area here and very clean, not another soul in sight. Ground a bit hard but sure tents could also be pitched here.
