We spend the night in here encouraged by the very good reviews. After the mall closed, there were only 2 or 3 more cars in the parking lot. At 1:30 more or less I woke up to a weird noise and movement of our van. There was a young man trying to steal our driver side mirror. There was another guy a few yards away, they were together and saying they they were only looking for a place to sleep. Security came a few minutes later and acortes them outside the parking lot.

There are a lot of comments from other overlanders explaining their experience having their mirrors stolen in Chulula/Puebla. Just be extra careful in this town.

Big open gravel’ish area for camping with a 14 day limit. Swimming in lake is great. One outhouse in day lot but otherwise no privacy for using portable toilets outside vehicles.

So far the most beautiful spot of our whole trip through Baja, however, the security of the complex nearby was checking us out from the distance around 3am and after 10 minutes the police car arrived. The policeman didn't speak much English, but told us it's not allowed to park here during night time - therefore marking this spot as 'closed'.

in the evening some locals come here to make shooting excercises. not so funny.

Not sure what everyone is raving about ... the camping is a sand pit under palm trees, rude staff, expensive drinks, ablutions rustic doesn't begin to describe it! And after you've showered you can take a lovely sandy walk back and wash your feet again.

The guy at the office didn't speak English. He called somebody, in the meanwhile he extended and put a stamp on our forms. The person on the phone tried to make me pay 100 somoni for two motorbikes. But I already had the extended paper in my hand, said thank you with a smile and left.

Stayed here a couple nights. Drove in around 9 and left around 8am. No issues. Full LTE. Definitely one of the easier options near Denver, still just a carpool lot, good hiking trails though.

Huge gravel pit with a lot of space far enough from Tok Cutoff Road to be really quiet. Not beautiful but a good spot for a night between Tok and Valdez.

really really lovely place with new owners- a young Costa Rican couple and their daughter. paid $25 which is steep but you have potable water (filled our tanks), hot showers and electricity and are in a really beautiful location. No WiFi for us since it was raining and doesn’t work? they also have a nice walk around the reserve (which used to be farmland and was converted back to its natural habitat). Would highly recommend.

Stunning wild place. Ellis came close to us.
Beware with kids. Ablutions did not work because of water pump problem.
Game drives around were amazing. Sure we come back there.

- not much to do close to the campsite if you don’t want to hike up to the volcano Imbabura (8-9hours) :-)

During OFF season very enjoyable ! If it gets crowded could imagine getting very Smokey and loud.
Also a visit to the local village is recommended to have a drink at the bars, play pool and chat to the people.
The souvenir shop at the entrance also had reasonable prices compared to Vilankulos

established campground with full amenities. propane exchange, laundry, coin OP showers, wifi, kayak rentals & pool. Sites for all rigs and tents. Site #73 is spectacular. waterfront with trees to shelter from prevailing winds. Rates were a bit high.

A nice Restaurant with delicious food. Some typical and some special sandwiches and other dishes. They have vegan and vegetarian options, and specials like Fish & Chips on Friday or Chicken Fried Steak on Wednesdays. Also a lot of items are not on the menu, and they can adapt to allergies if necessary.

small gravel field near to the coast and the viewpoint but surrounded on 3 sides by rocks so nice and out of the wind.

Teníamos problemas después de bajar la cuesta de el paso de Jama y a causa del calor y el ir frenando la grasa del buje estaba derretida... lo sacaron y limpiaron todo y pusieron grasa nueva! pagamos 40.000clp (50€) pero fueron muy majos y después nos dijo que podíamos ir a su casa a limpiar la camioneta así que fue genial!!! recomendable!!!!

Great spot with awesome view. Not a lot of space but we were 3 vehicule with enough left with 2 other. There is a lot of dust due to the road. No toilet, no water.

This area is popular with van and certain trailer. There is a 72 hrs rule. You don’t unpack all your stuff but you can sleep a night or two no problem. I would say it’s ok for van and small rig only. My trailer is 14’ long only. I saw unhitched trailers around here. It’s around the post office, there’s a park, washrooms, water to drink. The snake river is close by, the entrance is just behind the post office. There’s a path along the river.

Perfect spot to rest when campgrounds are full. And you can shower next door!

Parking area for 7km return hike to crater lake. Nice hike (steep at times) through beautiful thick forest (we saw monkeys) to viewpoint over the stunning, large craker lake. Likely supposed to pay an entry fee but no one around.

First military checkpoint to Waghan, from Khorog. Passport and visa. Friendly and patient when we couldn't find one e-visa on the phone. We did eventually.

The place is an old abandoned holiday center. No local came to ask us for money.

Banheiro e chuveiro quente grátis. Existe Wi-Fi do posto mas não usamos.
