yanis.langeraert | The end of the road provides enough space for a tent. Doesn't look like you bother anyone as it is a dead end that doesn't lead anywhere and it's sufficiently away from the road to attract attention. It's deadly quiet, perfect to camp and sleep late! Also the surrounding forest provides shade in the morning IT FITS ONLY ONE CAR OR 2 MAXIMUM AND ONE TENT! Leave the place like you found it so we never see a no camping sign appear. Arrive late and depart early. Enjoy |

rman310 | As stated in original post, great view of lake. Traffic slowed later at night (on a Saturday night) but still a little noisy. Strong 4G Verizon service. Good place for an overnight stay. |

timburkephoto | Nice little coffee shop in the same plaza as the gas station. Decent menu of coffees, juices, smoothies and icecream. They claim to have WiFi but it's down today. Outlets at most sitting areas and plenty of room to do some work |

vanderful.org | You don't expect to see this 'resort' like place, after bumping down unmade roads for a couple of hours! This place feels like an abandoned water park, but the rooms look like they are well kept and newly decorated. We camped right on the beach, it was quiet and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We are vegetarians; but they cooked a marvellous meal for us, which was very reasonable and delicious! Sabino the guard had a lovely smile, he was manning the place whilst the Manager Marlon was in Luanda. |

rachelpage09 | Just before this place there is a house on the right with a sign showing distances to various places. There are lots of mango trees affording lots of shade if you were to ask the owners it would also be a good spot to overnight. Just after this there is the half-way point restaurant (half way on the unpaved section). It has toilets and could also be another option - with permission from the owner. |

zoanthus59 | This is a great spot to stay. My husband and I stayed here on a Saturday night. There were not enough spots because people parked along the river and walked to the downtown. We waited until we got a consecutive three spots. We then walked to the other side of the river and had beer and food. You will have a beautiful view for staying here. Most time it was very quite during night since this spot is behind the stadium. We had no issue staying here at all. |

kamaztopujde.cz | Hey guys be careful here and make sure that you keep the speed limits on the BRIDGES!!! There were Corrupted policemen today and charged us for speeding. Of course they didn’t have any photo or proof. |

victor | I didn't have much contact with the staff. Arrived late afternoon and left next morning. Showers were not open, only toilets. Cold water, good wifi, power outlet and I was allowed to stay under their roof/garage (see photos) with my roof top tent. Beautiful place. 200 for the car/rtt and 70 per person |

victor | Arg to Chi. Gone through all steps, filled forms and told them I had eggs, mayo, mozzarela cheese. They only got the eggs, all the rest were fine. Respectful people, only checked our box with food and the fridge. Didn't asked to see anything else. Dog smelled the car. |

victor | Pretty much straight forward. Queue in the line with your car, wait for cars to start boarding and drive into the boat when they tell you. Once on the boat you can walk around and go back to your car when arriving at the other side. Someone will pass on your car asking for the money. For us it was 16400 CLP or 1500 ARS (Sep 07 2019). They were not taking credit cards. |

victor | Please note it's not a permanent checkpoint. They only had a police car (Carabineros) and a couple of officers stopping people but I think it's worth posting it. Officer stopped me, asked for papers and usual questions. Then asked me if I knew the speed limit there (I told Yes, 100km/h) and finally told me I was caught speeding at 140km/h. I only laught at him and said it was impossible, I'm always at 90-110 saving fuel and even more here in Tierra del Fuego. He simply gave me my documents back without saying anything. This was a true surprise for me, I've never seen a single overlander complaining about corrupt Chilean cops but there's always the first time. |

stacyhooker | This is the local community center. You can park here overnight. Safe. Friendly people. The parking lot is well lit which makes me feel safe but you might want curtains if the light bothers your sleep. Hot showers (group shower room but there is one handicap stall that is private) and bathroom (super clean!) available inside the center during open hours. There is a small fee of about $3.50 (American) to use the shower but is so worth it. |

charlie_slh | Barranca is one of those curious places in South America which have many hostels/etc but none are cheap. Cheapest was Hostel RIP near here for 30s. Here seemed nicer for 35 (after haggling). It was ok but if i was to go down the pan am again i would probably try and dodge barranca altogether. |

guthier.com | We were very disappointed. Our vehicle is 3.70 m high and so I asked via WhatsApp if the entrance is high enough and got the answer ‚more than 4 meters‘. So we changed our schedule and drove to Pirenopolis. But actually the entry height is only 3,45 m, so we couldn’t enter. It was the evening of Independence Day, everything was super crowded. Camping Sombra da Mata, the only place here for big vehicles, was a discotheque with 100 personal loudspeakers. We were really tired after a long drive and in the meantime it was pitch dark, so we had to improvise. |
