Andrés was not there but some guy in the village told us we could just camp in front of the casa. We parked our car there and had good, quiet night before hiking to Pico Austria. Though in the evening the wind is strong and cold!
Quiet village, very few people but welcoming. We went there after being spooked by the recent comments at Rinconada.

+ very quiet
+ clean bathrooms
+ close to the beach (4min walking)
+ WiFi reaches camper

- no real camping area, had to squeeze next to the storage place
- no kitchen
- lots of mosquitos

It is a nice 20 min walk along the beach from mancora town but there are a couple of hostels close to the campsite that offer some snacks and good food.

10 SOL per Person

We were a bit upset because we wanted to stay in a hotel nearby for 2 nights and just asked to park our rig here. He asked for 20 SOL per night, which we thought didn’t make any sense because we were not staying there and he told us before that it costs 10 SOL per person 🤔

Convenient but busy - pretty constant traffic in the lot and on the highway nearby. Toilets were decent enough. Camped overnight during a MTB trip. Would definitely stay again but only for a maximum of 2 nights.

This is the place if you’re looking for some cooler temperatures. It’s higher than the main road, at 2250m rather cold at night 20-24*C, even in summertime.

Surrounded by private gardens, this is a public spot with a source of fresh water. Cool shade during day time. Some people come to collect the water, and they are super friendly. Throughout the two days we’ve got a full stock of vegetables and fruits. Classic Iranian way, gotta love them!

Good for longer stop if you wish to relax and don’t mind a few friendly souls wandering around.
For 3G you need to walk back to the main road, only good for checking emails though (see the photo with X mark on the road :D)

Indeed very nice place in the historic center, with an amazing sunset. But very noisy during the night, at least on saturday night.

Came here for car insurance because its mandatory in Mongolia. Paid 64000 for 2 months of insurance (minimum 2 months). The guy seemed legit and professional. Minimal English but can work with it. We got pulled over earlier from the border for not having insurance so make sure you get some when you get to town.

We camped here in one of the rooms on an extremely windy night. It was much warmer and sheltered than being out in the open! It seems to be a popular spot based on the number of campfires. There are rodents, so don't leave food around. There is also a rabbit living in the caravanserai, if the shelter alone was not enough reason to stay!

You can walk down to the river for water, maybe 100m.

A shade campground next to a restaurant and a pool. It is pretty rundown and the facilities are fading but still has all you might need for a night or two. 18€ for 2 people and a rooftop tent

Very nice helpful guys. We still had a chilean lipigas cylinder. Nobody could refill it so the guys mentioned to change the valve. Perfect job. They directed me to a place to buy a new valve:
https://goo.gl/maps/kGt4ZyzsECvbAWgy7
Then they had no key to take out the old valve. Any mechanic can do that for you. Then they installed the new valve and refilled (and killed a snake passing by...)
This was very helpful, as the cylinder size of central america does not fit in our car...

Really lovely place on the lake. We didn’t get to stay as much as we hoped Bc we had to be up early to make it into Ecuador. Jorge is LOVELY- so kind and accommodating. He did our wash for us! $5 for a large load. Unfortunately he had guests so we didn’t get to use the cabana with the kitchen and the fireplace but still would highly recommend.

Comfortably located just outside the Andersons gate of Etosha. The campsites are very large, especially number 1, which is suitable for large groups with separate tents. We had the whole place for ourselves, which means four showers and ditto toilets, as well as multiple braais and a very large table under a roof. There is also electricity on the sites. The other sites are equally beautiful, and have all a different ablution style. The Internet at the lodge did not work properly due to “weather” restrictions, so maybe it is better on other days as during our stay. All in all a super place to stay, and much better then Okaukuejo Campsite within Etosha.

Walmart. What else is there to say?
I rolled in 24 hours ago and will be leaving in another 3 hours. No problems from anyone.
1 hitch is that there seems to be a Lot of people here that seem to have been stranded here for one reason or another. An oriental man asked me to give him a ride to Albuquerque as soon as I pulled in yesterday. Later a caucasian man asked me if he could go wherever I was going when I left. There also were a hispanic man flying a sign that he was stranded, and an African-American woman flying a sign that she was stranded as well.
So, beware! Im leaving once my business is done before I end up stranded, too!

Saturday September 7, 2019. I was on my way to Dawson Cemetary to boondock a couple of nights when I happened along this tavern. Being my birthday, I decided to stop and have some food & drink and feel up the locals for some other good boondocking sites. A gentleman pointed me down the road to some RV parks. I told him and the proprietor that I am not into the "park" setting and wanted to dry camp instead. Immediately, the proprietor, a good Christian woman, said "you can dry camp right here". At a tavern? On my birthday? I absolutely could not believe my luck! I set up on the Northern end of the parking lot away from the main building and parking area. The tavern is nice, the food is good, a little pricey - but oh, well -, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the people were friendly (wanting to tell me about all the local places). There is wi-fi available, an outdoor patio, and a volleyball court/net. I still can't believe my luck, but it's true.

As all others have said, a great place to stay on the edge of La Paz, especially if you need some help with your vehicle. Marcos is so friendly and experienced with both mechanical and electrical issues that he will do anything to help. The kitchen is handy and there's a small lounge for socialising. Wi-Fi isn't bad, and it's an easy collectivo ride to the teleferique to visit town. Definitely worth a visit!

A small shop on Avenida Illimani which sells solar panels and deep cycle batteries. We were amazed by the price- managed to get a small battery for our camper for under 100 usd which is practically unheard of. The guy also sells these on Facebook marketplace so you can check the stock or message him from there.
