I live nearby and they’ve now posted no overnight camping and tow warning signs. There’s a big rig there right now, but I’m guessing you’ll want to check with the manager first. Walmart next door might work instead.

The toilets were something out of a horror movie. I walked in and sat on the toilet and only then realized my feet were covered in big ants that had been feasting on a few cockroaches. UGH so gross. You couldn't pay me to get naked in that room to shower. There were some really uninviting "snow birds", I recognised them from the vet that day and asked how their dog was doing and they responded "Can we help you?" "I just paid the owner to stay the night, he said to park here" "That's our spot, move over there" and they pointed to a spot on an incline. Overall very weird vibes, I recommend finding somewhere else.

RV lot with free parking. Has water and electric hookups. If I’m a smaller self sufficient vehicle, you are allowed to park in the main parking lot overnight as well. Quiet and clean location. Felt very safe. Short walk to a 24 hr diner with decent food. Casino is open with public restrooms. Also a gas station within walking distance.

Lovely, calm and quiet site right on the river. We were able to make a same-day reservation online when we knew we’d get in late, no problem with a 9:30pm arrival. Sites have easy pull-through driveways for our truck with a 17ft trailer, and are wide open with lots of grassy space in between. Camp host was super friendly and carries dog treats!

This hostel gives you the family experience. We got there during the birthday of one of the daughters and got a piece of the birthday cake. The two sons like music and we talked for hours about that.
They have wifi, potable water and a hot shower. Some rooms have AC.

Amazing place in the middle of the flood plains. Get here on a 4m wide +-3,5km raised area. Very thick bush on it with a few ant hills hiding in the grass but beautiful and remote once you get there. Old metal structure left which you can climb for sundowners

We spent the last evening of our weeklong, offgrid Baja trip on Raul and Caroline's ranch. Rancho La Bellota is a magical place - a total retreat from our daily urban life - filled with fresh air, sheep, gorgeous Baja horses, friendly ranch dogs, and the best hosts.

It was just our luck that we saw Raul on the highway at the same time we were on our way there. He waved to us from his newly built overlanding vehicle and we followed him back to the Ranch. That same afternoon he took us horseback riding and invited us to a tequila tasting.

We emailed Raul and Caroline a few weeks in advance to make sure it was okay for us to come by as overlanders. They were incredibly generous and gave us the thumbs up. It is so gracious of them to open up their ranch to overlanding guests. Please be sure to make a donation and leave-no-trace on your campsite.

We hope to visit again soon!

amazing views in all directions. dramatic waves crashing on rocks. cliff camping. flush toilets. good cell service with booster sometimes. really nice people. big restaurant but no apparent service. I bought drinking water and filled my tank for free using my hose and filter.
the dirt road from C23 is pretty easy. you drive up a big hill and at the top there is a wood and stone structure. Google insists there is 1 road but there are 4. go through the structure and take the left road. it will go down through a series of sharp turns to the place. stop at the boat and someone will take your money and show you where to go. lots of locals pay to spend the day here. 5 stars app won't let me give stars

we spend 2 nights here ...you can manage to drive around and find a good spot... it's all level and a little bit sandy. A lot of wood for fire and big trees for shadow and wind protection. One of the best places to spend a few nights and enjoy this area. No internet reception at this point. Many foxes going around so take care with your trash, g
high places and take it with you there is not a cleaning service in the area.

Rocky's has free dump with fuel purchase. The store is well stocked and very clean, especially the restrooms. They have diesel pumps in the back for RVs and big rigs.

Plenty of space 2wd ok if no rain but rain equals mud. 3 bars Verizon. Only packed in winter because all other forest roads are closed for safety. Lots of folks leaving behind garbage and human feces in bags. Please don’t be that person. This privilege of camping has been taken away and will be again. Please be a kind quiet neighbor to other campers

Simply the best pupusas in town. Very popular among the locals. It can especially be bussy during weekends at dinner time.
Try a rice and mais pupusa with the same toping to taste the difference.

Roads a little rough and some have low tree line. I fit my 36’ close to road, but not many spots for bigger rigs. Beautiful scenery and rugged but well kept grounds overall. A place for free camping and by donations, I give it a two thumbs up!

The park is still free, but because of the covid you have to stop at the administration to register (and get map and infos if you need). The campings are closed at the moment. The trails open are Ranita de Darwin and the Mirador to the Machinmahuida volcano.

Very nice view on the Chaiten volcano and its laguna. You can see the smoke! The trail is up all the way, a lot of steps and a short steep part at the end, but if you are used to hike, there's no difficulty. It took us 1h30 up and 1h down. Better to leave early as it can get very hot up there and there's no water. Toilets and water at the parking.
