Awesome spot with stunish sunsets. Right at the trail head and rocky beach a few minutes away. Quiet during the evening and the night until about 7:30 am on a Sunday.

Large parking in front of the library & news center. No signs that overnight parking is probibited. A bit noisy until 11pm as Gordon street is busy and it is also used as a bus terminal. The parking is large enough though so it is not too disturbing. Behind is the building is the Mission recreational park in which there are signs that it js open from 6 to 11pm and can towed. During the day you can use the bathroom inside the building.

30 minuts for us a monday afternoon. Just 1 car in front of us. Quick check of our 4wd at both side. Any check about car insurance and covid's test or vaccination.
It's normally prohibited to bring back vegetables, meat, cheese in direction of Poland, but any trouble for us with our foodstuffs seen by the guard.

Beautiful spot along the river, right in the heart of downtown. Posted for no overnight parking, but no one bothered us at all. Right at the head of the walking trail, steps away from shopping, including a Home Hardware.

Good spot for overnight camping. Near a little beach, nice windsurfschool and overlooking the mountains.

Great little (pretty big actually) spot. We arrived after dark after changing plans. Is a perm resident there. Not sure about a few reviews back where it is private property and that resident “runs” the place as it doesn’t appear like it could be zoned for anything at all; but who knows. We had a nice night and would def stay again.

A fun ‘spooky’ fact, this is the spot the Hart family drove off the cliff in a murder-suicide! There’s a little memorial there. Check out “Broken Harts” podcast for the full story.

Nice place. Well kept. Pricey, but in the city. Stayed here in a bind only one night. But, hard to get any closer to the city.

Large area right on shore of lake. Many places to camp, tents or trailers, very level. Site of old sawmill. Many cement building pads remain with easy access by vehicle and trailer. Great views of mountains and lake.

The best free camping spots on this lake at kilometre 12. No toilets. Site just before kilometre 10 is smaller, not as many level sites, but has toilet. Other 2 camp sites further down the road are bc parks, have picnic tables and toilets, but not right on the lake. Can be accessed from Whiskey Fill Rd, or Cedarside Road. Where those 2 meet Canoe road is to the right or straight ahead, respectively. Paved road for a few Kms, then hard packed gravel, turning to lose gravel. Road was in very good shape, not much washboard. Turn right just after 12k marker, before the bridge. Canoe road becomes Canoe Forestry road where it leaves the pavement.

Quiet pull off on the blue ridge parkway. Slept here last night with no problems, not many people on the road, this spot is kind of hidden from the road. I was able to let my dog free here which was nice. Watched a beautiful sunrise and sunset too!

Stayed there one night in September. It is the perfect free spot in nature before heading to Banff. We stayed on the right side of the road , coming from Canmore.
Very busy (7 other campers), but we were able to fit our car in a private little spot. Railroad and road nearby... you can expect some noise.

Stayed one night during labor day weekend. It was nice, quiet and very cool during the night. There is no signs in parking lot to indicate you cannot stay overnight. There are street signs says no parking from 2:00 to 6:00 am for the street, which is a bit confusing. Parking lot is small, can accommodate 8 to 10 cars.

Update. Got a ticket at 5:30 am. $37

Just as advertised, a local park where kids likely come to meet up.

Was a bit of activity on and off until 11 or so and then it was a wonderful spot. Dark and quiet enough with an outhouse.

Lots of designated campsites with fire pits. Tons of trees to keep it cool and shaded when it’s hot. However I was here Labor Day weekend and there were tons of huge obnoxious families and people just firing off guns in the distance. Other then that great place to stay hopefully it was just busy for this one weekend.

Stayed 2 nights. Very few campers this time of years. Superb large Ablutions. WiFi only at restaurant. Hot pools and hiking. If place is full then camps are on top of each other. Also some sites are right near the road so be aware of the site chosen. Paid 330 total rand for 2 people in off season
