We first try to come here through the north side but were not allowed to drive here by the traffic police (see post on corrupt police station). So we drove through the southern entrance, which is no problem.
We had a good night here with police guard 24/7 .
We walked to the citycenter, which is ok, but nothing special. Tried to walk back through the barrio Ricardo Brugada, but were stopped by some locals who advised to walk back via calle Rio Ypane. The barrio (which is between the centre and the costanera) is considered "zona roja", not safe.

Great volunteers in the visitors center. Unlike many rest stops we have stayed in there were only 3 semi trucks and they parked at the far end as far away from us as they could get, a nice change from having them right on top of us.

We were stopped here, police checked the papers of the truck and also the TIP papers. That was all, very easy and quick.

Nice clean place (all free), but the showers were only cold. I think because of the off season.

Good potable water. Water pressure is okay. We refilled our water tank and there’s also a dump station right next to the water hose (closed between November 1- April 1)

Free. Fairly clean. All water (both flushing and potable) is still turned off for the winter, even in late April.

The gate to this Campground was closed with a sign that said entrance by permit only. I do not believe it's open. Sunset View is the only Campground that was open

Camping prohibited sign posted. Maybe no one cares but it's there, behind the guard rails on the access path to the beach.

We spent some excellent nights while we made some small repairs to our vehicle, the staff is very friendly, it is possible to calibrate wheels, refill water, gasoline delivery from 8am to 10pm and as if that were not enough, there is a bicycle workshop.

There ‘s secure fenced areas around the stadium where dogs can run and play. Sometimes the gate is locked so walk around and find one that’s open. Campsites are so grounded in Sucre and this really saved us and our young need to run dogs. Park Bolivia is too crowded and opens late.

If you are traveling by bicycle you probably never remind this spot. A little noisy because is near the road. So, there are worse spots in the road but this is good enough if the night catches you. I was looking for a better place 300m around and I chose this one.

Gorgeous area, 1 or 2 accessible for big rigs and many many other smaller sites for car or tent camping. One larger site has a beautiful view. No one else was camped on the entire road today

WILD CAMPING: Residential side street next to skate park. Park has clean restrooms, nice grassy area & REALLY NICE fenced dog park. Able to park away from houses on street. More for stealth van or camper. Rio Vista parking laws permit 72 hour stays however i would not recommend that for this location.

great free spot with bathrooms and showers. they recently did a prescribed burn of the area. it's all black and smells. I picked up quite a few nails etc out of the parking area at this site. obviously from cleaning out the fire ring.

Little family run hospedaje. Pretty basic but it's a roof over your head. Bed and shared bathroom both seem clean enough, has hot water. Fantastic view from balcony outside room.

The building is on the square but I had to go round the side to find the family and ask for a room, they didn't hear me knocking on the doors on the square side.

I brought my bike round the side and parked it in the garden, you could maybe fit a moto too if you asked nicely but no space for cars

AWESOME VIEW NESTLED IN WITH A VERY WELL MAINTAINED SMOOTH ROCK AREA ONCE IN THE AREA YOU CAMP IN. Very clean area delighted to camp here. Met someone who was already here who was very polite. ( didn’t know the person ) only complaint is no cell service until 3 miles out. We have Verizon. No cell signal booster yet. But despite that it’s an AMAZING place to camp. Road coming in wasn’t terrible. 2wd will be fine. Nothing to robust. We have a truck camper 4x4 but heavy so we don’t like real wild terrain. Just Cruz in and you will be fine. Some locals with homes as you come in so drive slow to avoid dust and noise. It’s a country road that nestles you back in the hills. Slight wind. Wasn’t too cold this time of the season. We have a catalytic heater so we are cozy. Slight breeze tonight at 2:25 am on Saturday April 20-2024. Public bathroom was not desirable to use though. Whomever is in charge of maintaining it has not been around to do so. Beautiful spot though. You will not be disappointed. Despite the train noise you will hear birds talking ducks and whatever other critters are around here. Stars shine pretty bright too. Happy Trails yall. As always. Pack it in and pack it out. We don’t wanna give the people who use these campgrounds and app a bad rep. This life is AWESOME!! Tread lightly. Leave no trace.

Sizable park with an abundance of shade trees. Splash pad. Southern Pacific locomotive displayed. Biggest dry twisty slide I've ever seen. And nice bathrooms, which look like they're serving as a washroom for several people this Saturday morn. Park n ride parking next door. Free city wifi.

As described in all of the previous reviews. Although I might add that, I would not bring a big rig or a trailer up here, unless it were one of the smaller rugged overland types. Definitely part of the DeerLodge National Forest.

The road in is initially a bit wash-boarded with some rather large dips and stones, particularly near the cattleguard… However, when you turn off of the road that exits the freeway (Divide Creek Road) and continue up on to Fleecer Mt. Road, it gets much better.

There was one divot in the left side of the track on the way up, that could get sketchy with time… I recall it was a bit of a drop off on the left.

I didn't go all the way to the big open area, but took one of the first two spots I came to which were just before it (see Google map aerial). Actually, I just pulled into a flat area between two dirt roads. Don't need a camp fire ring tonight, so this is just perfect. Although there was a nice site right across from me, that did have a large fire ring.

Heard some folks taking a little target practice further on from where I camped… To be expected.

All in all, this is a really nice spot… I kind of prefer them just a bit closer to the road. But the silence up here is nice.

Two bars AT&T LTE --- F350 4X4 with truck bed slide in camper. Stayed one night.

Camped here twice. Nice simple campground. Very nice fellow and a sweet campground dog that watches over the place. Make sure you ask for dry camping because I paid $250 the first time I came for dry camping, but didn’t realize it was only $200 for dry. I think it was a miscommunication. Still very affordable.
