Nao aceita carro home !!!!!

We spent a night here with no problems. Great place to stop for a night, stayed here with several other cars and campers. There is a bit of noise since it’s right next to the highway but nothing too bad.

Beautiful site under palm trees with a sheltered bay and beach only meters away. There a garbage can and an obvious site to camp a few meters along the beach path. The few locals who came past were are super friendly and site feels very safe!

Spent a couple nights here. Minimal traffic in and out, not very flat but there is one nice flat spot near the road. Lots of downed trees cut up on the road in but enough room to get through in our Ford Transit. Two bars 5g T-Mobile (good enough to watch 4-5hrs of the NFL Draft, lol), 1 bar of 5g Verizon. Basically everything outdoors in South Lake Tahoe is closed until May 10th so this spot has been a blessing.

Lots of washing machines in different sizes. The smallest is $ 2 per load (excluding detergent but you can buy it at the counter) and, according to the staff, carries up to 20 lbs/9kg (we only loaded 7 kg and had problems getting everything in - I’d say something around 6 kg would be ideal). The cycles are more or less 30 mins.
Tumblers are $ 0.25 for 10 minutes. Jeans took us 50 minutes. T-Shirts etc. 30 minutes.
All in all we paid $ 6 for ~ 14 kg of laundry. It took us a bit more than 2hrs. Including folding.
The place is very clean. It has toilets, chairs (when waiting) and an area with „tables“ to fold your clothes.

The ceviche lady now has regular hours and a regular storefront (open afternoons 6 days a week, closed on Monday). The business is now called Cochita Go! Great ceviche made fresh daily and good prices.

I spent 1 night here, paid 170 for one person with a bike, very windy night difficult to find a place that covers the wind, but in general all good, the bathrooms, hot shower, very friendly people, good grass to pick up your tent.

We arrived at 4pm, 3 guides were still there, one showed us the viewpoint and charged 2000 for absolutely nothing. I tried but didn’t get out of it as he didn’t leave and I wanted to stay overnight. I told him we stay at the hotel as they said if we want to stay here we need a guide overnight. They left at 5:30. Lots of men came to bath and collect water, I felt uncomfortable with my wife even though they were all friendly. Luckily a very friendly and funny „security“ showed up at 7 and told us in broken english that he must guard us with his gun if we want to spend the night for 5000. He showed us a safe parking where he made fire for all of us. We shared our food, wine and cigarettes with him. He brought firewood, snack worms and corn from home. He chased all people away that came in the evening, as no one is allowed there at night apart from him, he said. Very pleasant for us in the end :)

Attention! Today, in the Soriana parking lot, 3 guys tried to rob me with a gun. Maybe they wanted to take my truck. They tried to drag me into my truck, but I pushed the one with the gun away and asked for help. They ran away. There was an interesting detail. There was no one in the parking lot on the right side, but then an old red truck (I didn’t think of taking a photo of it) drove up very, very close to me and seemed to block the view. I think it's an accomplice. Zihuatanejo becomes unsafe.

Nice little spot under the bridge - preferred this to the next bridge a few kms further south. Fire pit still here and nice cover with trees. Large enough space for a few vehicles. Good to spend a night if you need. We turned off down the gravel road about 300m before bridge coming from north to south

Really great place to camp. I didn't see anyone else except for a couple tourist vans in the evening and a couple more in the morning.

Totally quiet. Great view. It was completely calm with no wind when I stayed.

Very weak Claro signal.

The most peaceful place I've ever camped, so quiet at night, occasional sounds of cattle or horses but way off in the distance. We parked on the pan just after the entry road onto the flats. we saw a tour vehicle in the morning but they didn't drive up to us. Spectacular place to spend a day and night. We saw an Aardwolf shortly after sunset which was pretty special.

Third spot is in walking distance to Rice University and to the James Terrell twilight epiphany skyspace attraction This is a quiet street with parking allowed after 4pm. There is signage for no parking between the hours of 9am and 4 pm. We’ve used this spot twice now with no issues. Quiet in (evening) and quiet out bright and early… Nice quiet neighborhood. There are some streets adjacent to it that only allow parking into 7am the next day… but this one was until 9am.

This place is sweet! Many spots, very pretty green grass (in April), and right next to the water. Saw some cows and it smelled of cow, but overall very awesome.

From Zambia to Malawi

Very easy border crossing, just go from counter to counter. First Zambian immigration for the exit stamp, then Zambian customs for our Carnet.
Then Malawi immigration where we as Germans didn’t need a visa anymore, so just a stamp and we were done. Last step was Malawi customs. He did the Carnet quickly and then printed us a form that we took to the Cash desk for the Road tax. It’s 20 USD and 11500 MWK for the Carbon tax depending on engine size. We had problems getting the 500 as change so maybe when exchanging money get some smaller notes. For paying we had to fill out receipts four times, but there was someone with Carbon paper to copy the forms. Afterwards you are supposed to get printed receipts, but the printer was broken so we were sent to the bank at the commercial border crossing which is just in the building behind and got them printed there. We were approached by someone trying to sell insurance, but we already got Comesa in Zambia. So far in Malawi we have been asked about insurance about 5 times, so better get it at the border if you don’t have any. All in all it took us less than an hour.
