This place is a paradise and remembers us a lot to the wonderful campground in Baricharra "Camping Guaimaro". In case you are still dreaming of it, like we are - that's your place🤩
Marc is a wonderful host and his Fazenda is pure paradise! Chantal, his mother is lovely!

Everything perfectly clean and a great shared kitchen to use, WLAN and space to relax on a wonderful terrace.

A big tree in the middle of the Fazenda is home to Ibises and Araras - wildlife straight in the garden. In the evening even an anteater was there and we saw tracks of tapirs in the woods. Wonderful trails to walk.

This place is worth each real$! If someone is putting so much love and effort into a perfect overlander oasis, I hate reading complaints about high prices here!! We paid 50R$ per person because the river is dry and because Marc was worried that he's charging too much because of the comments here 😥

Enjoyed several days here in a spot beside the water. Very peaceful. Filled up each night. Pack in/pack out. Pit toilets were decent (no paper/sanitation gel). No water or garbage. Beautiful setting.

BRIBE BEWARE! Rolled up to the checkpoint and we got the whistle and pull over motion. Stopped us because we were "speeding" when we were going well under the posted 45km limit coming into the checkpoint. (Also they have zero proof on how fast your really going) Pulled over and shut the bike off, I immediately pulled the keys out of the bike and put them in my pocket after one cop tried reaching. They asked for papers, gave them copies and that was not good enough. They demanded originals "or else" the situation was going to get worse. Took my drivers license out of my hand and refused to give it back. Gave us the whole you're getting a ticket and have to go to the bank yada yada. That wasn't going to fly, 30 minutes in still haven't got my license back. One police officer ( if you want to call them that ) said we can make this go away right now for a price. I instantly said oh you guys want to play the money game and they all smiled. They asked for $100, gave them $30 to shut them up and get my license back. Giving them the money I pissed them off more because I was openly showing the world that I was giving them money and not hiding the fact we were getting bribed by corrupt police.

Extremely noisy, up to 70db in the room, don't expect to sleep before the last bar closes.
Very hard mattresses.
I'm trying to get another room. This is a nightmare.

Stayed one night no issue. There were three camper trailers set up by the Lakeshore that appeared to be there longterm. Still other places to park that were level. No issues with the road in, seemed recently graded.

Beautiful place with good size pool. Fantastic hosts and can cook you anything you want to eat at reasonable price. The bagre fish with salsa is excellent. They have home made chili too! Rico! We have a truck camper and we park near the pool. No problem getting in and out. IG 2travellingaunties.

Easy access with any vehicle, well maintain dirt road. 3 bars of Verizon service. nice level parking area. It's probably not suitable for large RVs. Best for truck camper or class c. However, there are a few pull offs that may fit larger RVs before the parking area. Overall, it's pretty quiet. There was a constant stream of visitors until darkness. We found multiple garnet on the surface.

Huge pullover spot with enough room for four to five big rigs to park, gorgeous views. Pretty quiet at night, but lots of traffic during the day and esp at sunset when people come to take pics. I’d recommend only staying a couple nights max due to heavy traffic.

Big, flat, paved spot to park. Much cooler here than off the mountain, about 8500 feet up.

Nice spot indeed, far enough from the road to be quiet. Good gravel road in, with just a few potholes, doable with any vehicle.

There's a campsite at the marked location, but the one described (along creek) is further down this road, as also mentioned in previous comments. Gravel road is mostly fine and doable with 2wd, but has some large potholes so drive with. care. We didn't stay here as it was a bit wet after rain, but it certainly is a lovely spot.

Spent a calm night here camping. Ducked under two barbed wire fences that are probably meant for cows. As I woke up in the morning I saw there is a lot of trash nearby, and also some children passing on the road saw me, but I was left in peace. Woken only by wild birds and roosters.

Big gravel lot next to the gas station, could easily accommodate any size rig. there's a nice supermarket, a picnic table and there's also a laundromat but I didn't check it out.
Was relatively quiet and had good T-Mobile reception.
About 40-50 minutes drive from Yellowstone park entrance.
The only thing you should note is that there's a place called "Old Saloon" on the other side of the street and they happen to have a band performing that night, so the lot was absolutely packed when we got there (you can check online on their website if there's an event).

This is now operational and it is where you buy your permit. 150NAD pppn. It is also where you can book one of the 4 free camps in the park. I was allowed to wildcamp on my second night after a bit of negotiating since the 4 free camps were occupied. Lots of amazing spots along the river.

We came for a deffective ball bearing and left our Jeep in their shop. It seemed that the ball bearing had worn out the rear axle.
2 days after we could resume our trip down the 40 with a new bearing and a lathed axle since no spare part was available. After less than 300km we got stranded with a broken axle and had to be towed to the mechanic in El Calafate.
Apparently they had not tighten correctly the axle bolts which lead to us redo and buy a new complete set of pieces plus brake pads and discs for a total of more than 1500usd and 1 week of trip.

I stayed at Eight Mile Campground closer to town, but wish I had been here instead! Eight mile was pretty busy, half the sites are by reservation and half are walk in, and on a Weds night most were full. This campground was only half occupied by comparison and is in a beautiful quiet setting in the woods. It looked like only some of the sites have bear boxes (at 8 mile all sites have boxes). Will come here next time

large meadow by the river, near the waterfall. Peaceful and quiet place to spend the night. No wild animals or natives. Traces of campfires on the bank suggest visits of campers.
