Its not the most beautiful place on earth and its close to highway, but who knows Belgium also knows that to find privacy away from others eyes is hard. Woods and privacy thats exaxtly what you can expect from this place. If you drive deep on the grvel/muddy route you can turn behind the small forrest and you are hidden for good. When rainy maybe the route is muddy, but I didnt have any issues even after three days rain. I came in the evening and stayed till 9am with no issues at all. Maybe only the noise from highway is bad, but for one night more than good if you like to be in green and not to stay in concrete parking lot elswhere in centre if towns.

Friendly staff. The job is usually done within 24 hours (if you ask nicely, maby earlier). In our case 13 kg for 50 soles. They don't wash underwear and socks, but we made a sad face and they said"Ok".

Mega clean beach where the locals really show initiative in picking up their trash.

We felt very safe and stayed 2 nights.
There’s not much to the town you’re next to and it’s more desolate than we had thought it would be, but a great place to stay nonetheless!

•pick up your trash•
•the flies are nonexistent if you don’t eat outside•

What a joke! Got pulled over and then a guy with an "eco-tourism" shirt came over asking for 50 pesos. Bunch of rent-a-cops checked my passport and asked questions like where did I enter argentina etc.. Just said we were going to Brasil then a whole lot of "no entiendo". Eventually they got angry and let us through.

We were stopped here and the policeman looked through all our papers (insurance, TIP, license). He even looked at my husbands license and saw he needs glasses and wanted to make sure he was wearing his prescription glasses.
We, unfortunately, did not have our lights on. Didn’t know it was a law but will keep them on from now on.
They made my husband go inside and said they’d require a fee of 1500 pesos now or we could go with them and leave our car to pay at a bank. My husband came out to talk to me and I said take our son back inside and tell them your wife and daughter will wait while you go to the bank and pay. The police officer then told my husband he called his boss and he said it was okay to let us go with a warning.
It was clear from the beginning they were looking for a bribe.

Not sure what the previous post means with not worth the 22‘000 pesos a day but this is one of the best maintained bikeparks I‘ve ever been! There are 2 trails outside the bikepark(garganta del diabolo & valle hermosa) which are a must! Few spots around the stay for a night! One of our favorite places of the whole trip!

Why Arent You Turning Left

We were here in march and it was deserted. It did feel safe but we didn't leave the van for long. The toilets are ok and do flush. It's ok for a night.

sandy beach by an abandoned lighthouse with no one around. you'll need 4x4 and to air the tires down to get on the beach, but you can likely get to the lighthouse with only one of these 2. there are 2 palapas, no facilities, just white sand beautiful beach south and a gated fenced community around the bend North. A fish camp 1000m down the beach that we were told you can sometimes buy some fresh fish.

Located on Calle José Gálvez. Great, safe part of the city. Street parking directly in front of the hostel (10 ft from reception window) with use of the hostel facilities, 15 soles per person. Dorm beds 30 soles per person. Super friendly and welcoming owners/staff of this new hostel (1 week old at time of post and they’re still working on last minute finishes). Restaurant, bar, good wifi, kitchen and laundry for use (laundry is extra). 2 cats. They’re working on a backyard BBQ area and seating lounge.

We slept in our camper here 4 nights. We had zero issues and felt completely safe. We even forgot to lock up all day once. Neighbourhood security vehicles pass through here regularly.

Up to two rigs can fit in front of the hostel.
The street is not very wide, and tourist busses pass through here on occasion. Park close as possible to the sidewalk. Extra wide rigs might have a challenge parking here and still enabling busses to pass.
