10 S for two people and camper. We made it just before 6:00 P.M. when they closed the gates. We could not find a level spot so were more slanted than we liked. We forgot to ask what time they open the gates in the morning but the man came to open the gates by 8:30 the next morning. (It might be good to check since another posting implied it wasn’t until 10:00.) We also asked for a phone number to call in case of emergency and we had to get out in the night. The man in charge of the gate gave us his number. Quiet.

Place was good. Bad weather not as many good spots. Since the grass gets really muddy. Besides that lots of cars coming and going with teenagers in them, but everything very quiet and there is enough space. We saw a guy with his big camping trailer and generator there so I guess big rig friendly.

Not recommended. So, I arrived near dusk, tired on the motorcycle as usual. They were kind enough to let me borrow a pan to change my oil (while it was still hot). Lady came with a menu when I was under the motorcycle and told me to order dinner.

All finished and dark now . I asked to see a room (single person) and was taken to one with bathroom and told US$ 70. I asked to see a shared bath as there were no guests so who cares as no one to share with. Price now $60. So I decided to pack up. I’m tired, it’s pitch black, but no way am I going to take the tourist hustle, especially when I was so ready to relax with a fellow biker.

I asked how much is my chicken, which I’m told is 12,000 MK (US $17). Room price now $45.
Paid and left without my chicken as I’m just ready to get away from this place. I promptly took a spill on a nasty, steep, rocky section on my way out. (naturally). Pavement mentioned in old reviews no where to be found. Very friendly employee comes too my aid, and bringing my 12,000 chicken on a china plate out to the scene of the crash.

We get my bike upright and I ride to a safe section to repack. Put my 12,000 quarter chicken and two spring rolls in my tank bag and give my helper the potatoes. Likely a US$ 5 value for the potatoes so well worth the effort for him in helping me. Luckily bike looks ok, save for a new dent in the pannier and some scratches on the front plastic. I’m far too nice of a guy to tell him that he forgot a napkin.

Found a surprisingly nice hotel (Kabalilo Guest House) about 6km north for 5,000 MK.

Very disappointing as I expected Much better from an expat fellow biker. Sitting here eating my 12,000 chicken hoping my banged up knee from the spill is ok to ride tomorrow. Now I just realize the owner told me he was unwell because of food poisoning from his restaurant. Hopefully not from the 12,000 chicken (or the potatoes as the guy who helped me was very nice. I’d hate for him to get food poisoning either). Well, at least another story to tell and my oil is good to go.

Not recommended.

Pretty good and cheap (5,000) stopover if you don’t need the lake for the night. Clean, comfortable beds, shower (cold), flush toilet (no seat). Secure parking area. Great value for 5,000

Check in at the Nkhumano (?) cafe first. Go to main road, then about 50m north on the west side, just before the bank.

Small meadow appx 1km up Stemwinder fsr. Several flat areas for overnight stay. Partial shade in some places. 2wd access to some spots, 4wd to others. Stemwinder fsr is directly across from Stemwinder Provincial Park. Stop in at Doug's Homestead Shop on the way for the world's best
pepperoni and jerky. Watch out for cactus. Great views of the Similkameen Valley. Please respect the area and leave it better than you found it. And please no fires in the summer months.

We visited it en route from Loreto to Cd Constitucion, so didn't stay. Very nice little village. The road from Loreto is paved, in fairly good shape. However the dirt road to Mex1 was full of rocks and sands, it crosses the river bed a lot of times. Manageable with a 2WD family car but certainly not a enjoyable drive. The view along the dirt road was just so-so, not worth the effort in my opinion.

Can arrange mt Cameroon hikes. 15k/day park fees, 15k guide per day, 12k porter, etc... If you hike the mountain in one day like I did you must still pay 2 days of park fees and some negotiable extra for the guide. It's 3000+ meters to the top so makes for a full day. He also has a guesthouse with usable rooms for 5k (very soft bed and cold bucket shower) with a small museum that he's very proud of with some interesting masks and other relics. He told me he plans to open a campsite on some property with a nice view...

beautiful spot on the ocean. some rock fire rings. well used place. pelicans, seagulls and seals on the rocks! we got here on motorbike track from Punta Colonet beach which wasn't the best. on the map there is a graded road from San Vicente. looks like locals use it too. watch for ATVs and dirt bikes.

We stopped by in the afternoon, but after 5 min, a guy came and told us the place is a former camp site, and we shall need his father authorisation to camp. So we left as we don't know where is father stays. No sign to mention the place is private, thus seems pretty abandonned.

Little store with food, the people at our restaurant told us it was the cheapest.
Also they sell 20 L water bottles for 3000 pesos. That is two time cheaper than the cheapest 6L bottles we found.

Peaceful and secluded spot- no signs that you couldn’t park overnight and lots of boaters were parked overnight at the boat ramp. We stayed up at the overflow parking outside the park gated with no problem. Beautiful springs to swim in or cold showers. Says no pets but we had our dog and others did too. Will definitely go back!

Picnic spot in the mountains, tables under shady trees. Fantastic view. Mobile 3G internet. Water taps, but no water, when we were here. Steep and narrow 1-lane concrete access road. No problem for our 4x4 Ford Ranger.
There is a big house near by (accommodation?) with a fire pit and an outdoor kitchen sink, but the water was not running and everything was closed, nobody there off season.
