LotteNielsOverland | After the wine tour we could as well stay in the backyard on the grass for free. Also at night the toilets were available. Nice, professional and little fancy looking place and very friendly people! |

rtw.to | This was the easiest border crossing since Cape Town, going north. They did not even check the dates on my expired visa (long story) and they stamped the Carnet. Arrived on a Saturday morning at 8 and there were no trucks queuing at that moment. |

640taller | Nice place to stay in Mahahual. Thatched cabañas with fan and private bathroom for 450 per night (room is for two). The place has a private beach. Very well located a bit further south from all the tourist Mahahual, but within walking distance from it to go get dinner/groceries. This side of town is cooler with more breeze. Has inside parking as well. |

samputzeys | Parking lot at the Visitor Center. No « no overnight parking » signs although I don’t think they would really allow it.. We ended up here after we got kicked out of the other overlander spot in Point Reyes Station. If you plan on sleeping here, arrive as late as you can and be very discreet. Watch out for wildlife on the road!

lyndsay1986 | A pull off marked by a small National Forest Campsite stake. The pull off is on the right just before you cross the bridge over Lake Santeetlah on HWY 143. You will see a sign for Cedar Cliff Church on the left side of the road. The turn off is a gravel road on the right just before this sign and guardrail for the bridge. The site itself is hidden from the road by a stand of trees, but you can still hear the traffic. It was dark and relatively quiet at night. There are a few fire pits and some trash lying around (seemed like from local teens partying there, but we didn't see anyone and it was a Friday night). There are a few short trails that take you down to the shoreline of the lake, which is a beautiful blue/green colour. The water was cool, but not cold and good for swimming. We walked across the bridge and hiked down Blue Boar Rd to the resort there. You can swim from the dock, and we saw another couple there fishing. The dock itself belongs to the resort, but we saw a sign that indicated the water access was open to the public. Good place for a night, no amenities. Cool, winding road makes for a nice drive. |

atenea | Follow the gravel road past the gps coordinates until you cross a small bridge. After the bridge there's a house. After the house make a sharp left and you'll find the road that leads to the river. River was kinda swampy with lots of bugs. Did not stay overnight. |

buymeford | Off the PE1-SC between Huaytara and Ica. Large flat area by the river(dry river). Enough room for a few rigs, barely a soul on the road, no homes in sight. This road is 25% good dirt 75% paved. The paved section is very narrow(only one lane) and curvy so if you have a long rig it will be challenging a little. Crossing cars might be a challenge. On a motorcycle it was a blast. |
